View 1 RepliesI haven't been able to find a non-hack way to use Drag and Drop with the AS3 ScrollPane component.
Here's what I'm doing:
I create a container mc, which I then add a bunch of children to. The children are what I want to drag.
However, dragging is constrained to the boundaries of the ScrollPane. This seems to me like a limitation of the ScrollPane component.
I know it can be worked around with attaching a dupe mc to the cursor pos, then manipulating other mcs on mouse up, but..
I'm using the Flash ScrollPane component to hold a vertical stack of movieclips. I have implemented functionality to allow the user to drag and drop these movieclips up and down within the vertical stack so they can rearrange the order. My problem occurs when the user drags a movieclip towards the bottom of the scrollpane, I want the content to scroll so the user can drop the dragged movieclip below items which don't fit within the viewiable area of the scrollpane.
I attempted to automatically scroll the pane by incrementing the verticalScrollPosition when the dragged movieclip is towards the bottom of the pane, but this doesn't work as the dragged movieclip is part of the content of the scrollpane and gets moved with the rest of the content. The dragged movieclip moves up with the rest of the content and is no longer under the users cursor:

I have been developing a T-Shirt Designer [URL].. and found some AS to enable a file upload. The following code is a small section of my code that uploads a users image to a folder and then downloads the image for preview in a scrollPane.
I want to be able to Drag and Drop the image that is inside the scrollPane, but the script (below) does not work??

I'm design a project for touch interfaces and on my project I have a scrollpane with scrolldrag = true and the source is a sprite with buttons.My problem is that when I drag my scrollpane the mouse click event on the button is triggered. How can I easily prevent this from happening?

What I need to know how to do, is allow the rotation of the objects. I want it set so

I know that's not the right code. Basically, that's what I want. When you "press" to drag, if you press "r" while dragging, it will rotate the "object" 25%.

I understand that the target and the movie clip have to have the same name, like "book_mc" has to have a target of "targetbook_mc", but is there another way to do this so that "book_mc" and "pencil_mc" can both have the same target?

how would you prevent dragging for some items of your List or DataGrid?
Let's say I had a list with two items: 'Tom' and 'Jerry'. Only 'Tom' should be dragable, not 'Jerry'.
Ideally I had a 'isDragEnabled(item:Object):Boolean' function, which is being queried by the drag source.
My difficulties start with the fact that the 'dragStart' event handler has a null value for the dragSource, so right from the start I find it hard to find out what the drag-start is about..
PS There have been a few discussions on preventing or canceling a drop, but I haven't seen much about preventing the drag start, hence this question.
I just started using Flash Builder 4 (yesterday infact).
I have two lists and a canvas. When dropping a list item onto the canvas, i want to trace what item it is (the label and data) and which list it came from. From there, i want to add an image to the canvas according to the dropped item.

Why is it that, when I enable dragging-and-dropping in a TitleGrid, items are copied when they are dragged instead of moved?[code]When either of those items is clicked-and-dragged, it will get copied instead of moved.This is especially confusing because TileList is a decedent of ListBase, which DataGrid also descends from..But DataGrid does the right thing when dragging and dropping items.
View 1 RepliesI have made a flash application and in this flash application I have included a jigsaw puzzle. The application is wrote on one timeline and certain frames are used as different pages within the application.
The problem is once the jigsaw drag and drop are moved the pieces are displayed on all frames instead of just the one jigsaw puzzle frame I created.
How can I make these drag and drop items not be shown on the other frames?[code]...
I have a container which is a sprite. In that container I have added several movie clips. Now I am trying to drag that container over the other containers and have them move out of the way for the one being dragged.

2. The container seems to come apart when I drag and drop certain areas. Is there a way to keep the different objects together?

The issue I am having is I need to make the movieclip scroll vertically. If I use the scrollpane component, the draggable items get masked and disapear when dragging them outside of the scrollpane component.
I tried using a custom scrollbar, though the draggable items that are dropped, are then scrolled vertically with the main movieclip...
Basically they drag letters into a box to spell words.I have managed to get the letters to drag to the box but I would like the child to be able to reset all of the letters to their original positions.
View 5 RepliesSounds strange, but let me explain. What the user sees: Loading the page, color swatches fade in and slide over into place, row by row. Once in place, user can drag and drop swatches around, place side-by-side, etc. The script necessary to attach to a button so that all swatches can be reset back into place where they were, and not generate a replay of the initial movie clip from the beginning. (a goto and play is not what I'm looking for) Here's my code so far:

I basically want to be able to drag any item out of that list, and when doing so, have it that item automatically go to the bottom, and have the remaining items scroll up. I can handle the drag and drop part of it, but I'm confused on how I could get the remaining column of items to dynamically move up depending on which item is taken out. I'm thinking mayble along the lines of an array?

Everything works just fine, except for the last msg gets only half displayed as if the scrollpane wouldn't scroll to the end.

I have tried already with toggling visibility and 'gotoAndStop()' to make items appear over other items when the corresponding button is pressed, for example, when the user tries out different pants/shirts on their character.
I would like to use the selectionMode=multiple described in the Flex docs, but with a few modifications:
1) I would like the box that the user drags over the graph to remain there until the user drags a new one.
2) In the top right corner of the box I want to display the sum of the items selected by that box.

View 2 RepliesI'm creating a facebook application in flex. I'm actually working on the friends component that shows your friends who are using the application. now, each friend has a profile image.
I created the component using a s:List element.
In the Skin Class of the element i configured the requestedColumnCount to 3, which means it shows 3 friends. i added buttons to scroll left and right in the list.
Whenever I scroll to see a different friend, for a half of a second i see no image because the List component is loading the image in order to view it.
is there a way to make the list preload all the elements so i won't have this kind of problem ?
im having some dificulties in the combobox of Flex 3, after defining the dataProvider and filling the combobox, how can i remove the items in the combobox later (without removing items in the dataprovider)? if i set the provider to "" or null, the items in the combobox are still there

In my actionscript, it seems to only tell that event.items.length is 1, while I am calling my array collection from the HTTPService, and I have tested the length of my Array Collection, which seems to be accurate. What I tried to do is to use that number in the CollectionEvent function, but that does not work at all.
