View 1 RepliesI'm design a project for touch interfaces and on my project I have a scrollpane with scrolldrag = true and the source is a sprite with buttons.My problem is that when I drag my scrollpane the mouse click event on the button is triggered. How can I easily prevent this from happening?

I have a horizontal scrollbar but I can't make it easing on mouse click. But I am optimist you can solve this problem.

I was checking out the Tutorial @ [URL]...mouseclick.htm and it got me to thinking, that would be a great way to show which button you last clicked.
How hard would it be to have that Ease with Mouse Click work, and stay put on the buttons in the site, I think it'd get pretty confusing if it eased on over to every url you clicked. Also, I want to use some scrolling menu's, would it be possable to have the dot/png/graphic stick to that button until another is clicked?
I know I probably just asked about four posts worth of stuff, but I'm just brainstorming right now.
I want to have an image and when I click on the image ,one can hold down the mouse and drag a copy to where ever on the stage and when one lets go, one can drag another and another with each copy still being able to be dragged after released.this is what i have but its pretty simple and doesn't work....

I haven't been able to find a non-hack way to use Drag and Drop with the AS3 ScrollPane component.
Here's what I'm doing:
I create a container mc, which I then add a bunch of children to. The children are what I want to drag.
However, dragging is constrained to the boundaries of the ScrollPane. This seems to me like a limitation of the ScrollPane component.
I know it can be worked around with attaching a dupe mc to the cursor pos, then manipulating other mcs on mouse up, but..
I have a MovieClip inside a ScrollPane. Inside this MovieClip i have buttons. What i want to know is: how to click a button inside a Movie Clip, that is inside a scrollpane, and make it load a swf outside the scrollpane?
View 2 RepliesI'm pretty new to Flash and seem to be struggling with variable scope, events and where to put code within movieclips/main area etc. What I'm trying to do is produce a Flash movie that will allow the user to click on a tool from a selection, i.e. a circle, then click on another part of the screen to place the centre of the circle, with a second click to set the radius of the circle (an alternative would be a single click and drag to place the circle and drag it out to the desired radius.) Once the mouse if clicked a 2nd time, or the drag operation is completed, the circle will stay at the selected radius.
The code I'm using so far to test out the idea is below:

This uses a simple circle movieclip, and the above code is placed in Frame 1 of the background as opposed to the movieclip itself. It resizes the circle movieclip ok, but I want to be able to control the resize with the mouse or with a single click/drag.

View 1 RepliesI have objects that the user can click&drag. They're PNGs, mainly rectangular, no problem till here.But I then had to put an L-shaped object (a PNG with a lot of transparency), so i've made a movieclip with an shape with the same L shape than the png, and use it as its hitArea:

This works PERFECT, the mouse events respond as expected, and I can click on objects that are below/above the transparent area of the png/object.All objects are inside a Sprite called playgroundLayer1. The issue comes when I take the L-shaped object and put it on another Sprite (playgroundLayer2), that is above the playgroundLayer1.I this case, I can click&drag on the L, but no object below the transparent area of the L receives mouse events.
What's the correct way to track mouse position, from Adobe Flash, when someone has: Started a drag within the Flash application (a MOUSE_DOWN event), Dragged the mouse outside the app or even the browser window (a MOUSE_MOVE event), and Released the mouse button (a MOUSE_UP event)? For example (imagine Stack Overflow is a Flash application):
Within the app, I'm able to track the mouse X and Y positions with a MOUSE_MOVE event listener, but I lose it when it goes outside of the browser... So, how do I track the position of the mouse no matter where it goes? For a good example, try Google Finance. Try dragging the chart around; it'll still drag around if you move your mouse out of the browser window, and the mouse will be outside of the browser when you release it.
Also, check out KOKO KAKA; If you click on the scrollbar (make the browser window really small) and move outside of the browser window, the scroll bar moves just like a real one would. I believe both only work because the MOUSE_DOWN event "captures" the mouse, allowing the Flash application to track the position of the mouse even when it is outside of the browser.
All I want to do is have a scrollPane component on the stage and within that component I would like to have a movieclip that is essentially a list, and each list item is a button to be clicked on. I have no problem doing this if I have buttons within a movieclip, but having them in a scrollPane produces the following error:
1119: Access of possibly undefined property mcButtons through a reference with static type fl.containers:ScrollPane.It seems that I am unable to use the scrollPane component as if it were a movieclip and to use dot syntax to access it's content.
i have this script that i am using to drag with easing. it works but how do i make sure it stops when it gets to the edge of the movie. Right now since there is easing on it, you can throw the shape right off of the stage. Is there a way it can stop?

I am looking for a quick and simple way of having a movieclip follow the mouse with easing, until it reaches the mouse, at which point I want it to stop. It needs to ease out, so the standard cursorMC.x = mouseX will not do (also because it doesn't update the position of the mouse.

I'm attempting to make an AS3 class that allows me to drag an object with easing. I've looked around the net and put this together.I have created this class as startDrag() doesn't allow easing. I've almost got it working but there is a problem where the registation point of the movielclip snaps to the mouse position (this is the equivalent of having "lockcenter:boolean" in startDrag() set to "true")this is the problem bit in my script:

I have got myself a movieclip that I would like to be able to drag left and right. I have got this sorted but I would also like the movieclip to ease to a stop depending on the speed it has been dragged. Is this possible?

I've managed to code the following function for an AS2 class. What I'd like to do is to add a "constrained space", like a square, and keep the easing. I've tried to update this function in many possible ways.

I've got an object (camera) I'm trying to pan. This code works perfectly for panning it on the Y axis, but it's the exact opposite for the natural panning motion of X. By simply subtracting the velocity (as opposed to adding), the camera.x creates a crazy "Ease In" effect that shoots the camera off at a crazy speed. I've tried reversing the order of everything, but without the result I'm seeking.

I'm building this game, and it was working fine, until I used the menuBar component. It's not code related, 'cause i've commented out the script that does things with the menuBar. If I drag the MenuBar component from the component window, onto my Stage , the game refuses to work. If I deleet it (but keep it IN my library), it still doesn't work!. But if I turn the export settings of the MenuBar off, it works! The classes that i'm using for my game are called Node.as, JawBreaker.as The class I want to use to do something with the menuBar is called GameMenu.as (but that doesn't matter, since I commented the calling of that class out).
View 1 RepliesI have a scrollPane component set up with a long form in it. When a user gets to the bottom he can submit the form, the button then navigates him away from the scrollPane. If the user comes back to the scrollPane, the content in the scrollPane is scrolled all the way to the bottom where they clicked away. How do I reset the content so if they return to the form, the top of the form is visible in the scrollPane instead of the bottom of the form?
View 1 RepliesI have a small problem with ActionScript in a SWF file I'm creating. It is a ScrollPane component where I want lo upload multiple buttons with links to Web pages. I have everything prepared, a ScrollPane created and buttons as well (about 30). What I cuden't find is how to locate the buttons on stage with the properties X and Y, how introduce the properties for each of the buttons. I still do not handle well ActionScript and the manual I have is very basic.
