So as far as I can tell list-style-image (or any list-style at that) is not one of the available css properties enabled with a TextField.I want to have a list of items with bullets in front of them, but using a custom png image for the bullet.

How to set inline style sheet to htmltext of textfield component as mentioned in the xml CDATA. At present , i am using textfield.htmlText propert , but i am not able to get the

I've been trying to build a user interface that would allow someone to change the content of a dynamic field (loaded from a text file) using a rich text editor. However the editor inserts inline css style tags like <span style="text-decoration: underline;"> which Flash aparently can't understand. In my situation, I need to use these method to replace the TextInput field to Text class. as the result, I don't know how can I get the updated class name when I was replaced before. I try to use getQualifiedClassName function, and it will get the orginial class name, not the replaced class name

View 5 RepliesI have a movie clip "Obstacle" for a simple game. I have a class for it (Obstacle.as) that creates it, and moves it. In this Obstacle there is a text field - i use it for testing right now.
I want to make another Obstacle (HayBale) - with a subclass (HayBale.as). I have it mostly working. ACCEPT that text field.
It pitches this error:

Is there a way to pass the textfield A text to a dynamic text input (flash) as I'd like to use the font embedding flash offers. I can make it work when loading a value from a txt file but I'm not sure how to access the value identified above as KitGroupID_16_TextOption_38 and make it appear in a dynamic input box. Eventually I might want to have 3 font choices for the user but I'd like to just see if I can get this working properly first.
Most examples of BindingUtils shows how to bind a property (either a public variable or a getter/setter) of an object at runtime.
But how do I go about to bind a property, such as "top" of a component, when it's only accessible via the setStyle("top", value); at runtime?
Should I just create a custom pair of getters/setters to affect the style properties of the UIComponent in question? Seems a bit unnecessary.

well in my game,while you are playing level you have 3 objects(movieclips) on which you can click to pass on the next frame(when comes 3 new objects etc. untill level is complete); 2 of that 3 objects are wrong, and only 1 is good for passing on next frame. (all of all, correct click, wrong clicks)when i come on that level it keeps me showing error in output:

Is it possible to login through flash using one Dynamic Text Field and one Input Text Field and no buttons? If so how? I have seen many tutorials dealing with logging in to PHP using flash but it requires you to make your own php scripts which i am not familiar with. View 4 RepliesI'm making a calculator using Flash MX that works the same way as the basic calculator found on windows (not the scientific one). But having the user input a number, store it as a variable, store which function the user wants to perform and clear the text field then store the new input in the same text field as a different variable and multiply or add or divide or subtract the 2 numbers and getting the equals sign to display the answer when clicked is harder than I thought it would be.

I am working on a file that has a rotating dial, and I'd like the dial to reveal contents of a text field (a link) as the dial points in the direction of the text field. I have 4 text fields located at 90, 180, 270 and 360 degrees (top, bottom, left and right). I have it controlled via AS, so I've got all the Math but I was hoping someone might know how to reveal the links when the arrow (in the dial) is pointing in these directions.I set up a text field for testing, which shows the degrees, but I'm getting 'NaN' in the field (problems with Theta and converting degrees to Radians, I think). I thought this might help me figure out how to reveal those links, if I can get the NaN to work.Currently, the file is rotating with an onPress, but I'm going to convert it to a mouse follow, instead, so the user only has to float around to see the links.

I can make this happen, but the problem is that the dinamic field shows its new text in the same format as the Input field. For example, the input text is written in TimesNewRoman and the dinamic text is in Arial, but when the dinamic text shows the input, the text is still in TimesNewRoman when I want it to be in Arial.
View 11 RepliesI've created a dynamic text field - mediaImportName001 (created , and populated it with the name of a file that I choose to import using a browse button (as3 and AIR).This works fine - I can import the file, and the name appears in the field.
I'd now like to pass the contents of the text field to another text field. But I can't get the contents. If I try to trace the contents of the textField trace("mediaImportName"+thisNum).text - Flash returns "undefined" (even though I'm asking it to trace after the field has been populated).
I use the following code to check that the field really is there and named correctly (the code returns the children):

Novice in actionscript and have a problem loading an html file combined with a css stylesheet into a dynamic text field. I have 2 pages... 1st page always loads correctly but second page all you see the text fields is "undefined". When I view local machine all is well until I load onto server and for the first page of my site all is well but for the second page I receive "undefined" in the dynamic text field... This only happens the first time. When I click through the different pages('undefined', 'undefined', 'undefined'..) and return to the previous ones the text suddenly is displayed correctly! I have read elsewhere that I need to wait for the LoadVars onload command to finnish but I am at a loss to fix this...

getUser was already in UserService.java. I just created getUser2 and it's identical to getUser. When I try to call getUser2, i get the "Cannot invoke method" error. question: Do I need to specify getUser2 in some other file? like in some configuration file? if so, which one and how do I do it.
I am facing an animation error while i applying tint style on component.when i am passing paramenter values in second component by refrencing first component name and then applyng tint style on it but when i compile it, the first component tint syle is working fine but as it comes on second component it get stuck & the second component appears 80% transparent.

Love the effect and trying to keep it. Main timeline contains the main buttons (home_btn, bio_btn, music btn, video_btn, contact_btn). Music page has a XML mp3 player contained in it with button control. Video page has an encoded video with no code.
I need the following:
1 - Music and video to shut off as those pages/movieclips tween off the stage. Gets annoying with them playing especially at the same time
2 - Music player to play correctly. It is not with the new code.
I have the following code. The "Tween Code" is on frame 1 of the main timeline of the movie. The "MP3 code" is on frame 1 of the music movie clip. I am getting the following ERROR message when running my movie. I ran the Debugger as I publish and it points to music.my_channel.stop(); in below code. My thought process on this was that it would reach out to the music movieclip, find my_channel and stop it.
