ActionScript 3.0 :: Flash Using .target To Determine Which Sound To Stop

It seems there are a lot of problems with sound control with flash, and i (now seeming studpidlY) decided to undertake a project where i can have multiple sounds at once, and turn them off (individually) at the click of a button.

Obviously there is more code but these are the two functions that deal with the playing of sounds, the adding of icons (that form a playlist of clips that are being played) and also to remove these icons.

Basically when i click a button, it play a song (depending on the .target.FileName which is declared elsewhere), it then adds a small icon to a navigation bar so the user can see easily which sounds are on (this is depending on the .target.IconNo which again is declared elsewhere). I then add an event listener to the small icon that is on the stage, that calls the removeIcon function.

At the moment it adds the small icon, then when i click the small icon, it removes it from the screen, how can i link it so that it stops playing the sound it refers too?

I have a custom component with a couple of text input fields (among other things) that is used as the row components in a tree. I have had to write my own drag and drop handling, and have almost finished the start handler (which I did last), using mouseDown as the event to kick if off.It basically works, but when the tree is expanded enough so that a scroll bar shows, using the scroll bar drags a row of the tree at the same time ! Not the desired behaviour.Looking in the debugger, I can see that when a row of the tree is dragged the currentTarget is the tree itself, and the target is the textInput component. Looking at the parents of that component I can see my custom component (that contains the textInput) a couple of levels up.My question is, is there an easy way to determine if this target is descended from my component, so that I can initiate a drag only if that is the case ? event.target is doesn't work by the way.

Stop Sound From Going Into Next Scene While Keeping Button Sound?

I'm sure this is a common problem, I tried looking around on the forum for a problem like mine but was unable to find anything. I'm using Flash CS3, Actionscript 2.0, and am making a soundboard. I have two scenes, one that's the title screen, of which has a sound file loaded via the timeline, (I think) set to Event and Loop, and a button which takes you to the next scene and makes a short sound when it's pressed. My second scene has background music as well, also set to Event and Loop.

Problem is that when I press the button, the background music keeps playing into the next scene. I tried using putting stopAllSounds onto the button, but that makes the sound of the button stop as well, and I'd really like to keep it. I've been messing with this for days, and I can't figure it out.

I have added some three sound clips, play pause buttons, on the root timeline in a movie with corresponding callouts. I am able to stop all sounds on the main timeline by below

I'm trying to create iphone apps using Flash CS5.5 and I have a doubt... I just created a simple app which plays a long sound (more than 5 min).

When the phone auto-locks, my sounds stop. If I unlock the phone, my audio resumes...

How could I do to avoid the lock, or dont interrupt the sound when the device auto-lock?

I am creating an animation with very few controls for a presentation and it requires adding sound. I have my intro in the first frame with one sound and then want the user to click anywhere to start the animation and another sound.The problem I am having is sound control.No matter what I try the sounds overlap. I have managed to stop the first sound when going to the next frame - the animation, but the second sound now will not start. The first sound is called in from the library with the below code:

I have several buttons on the stage, each one will play an external sound file when clicked. If the user has clicked say button_1 and then clicks button_2, I need to stop the sound currently being played, before starting the sound from button_2

I'm making a page with multiple soundclips - each one launched by a separate Flash button.

Problem: If someone clicks a button and then clicks another button without first stopping or pausing the original soundclip, the two play at the same time. Press another and three clips play at once.

How do I make it so that when you push the next button it stops the first clip and then plays the second one?
