What do I need to put in my code to tell my mp3 player to grab its songs from a folder on my server via an xml doc I outputted from my sql server? (The mp3 player is also on the server).

I created a simple button that displays an error messeage: "error opening 'url" when I test the movie, but does play and opens in browser after publishing. However, it won't open in the browser in a different location. I pasted the html code in a web page but it doesn't work there nor opens in the browser in a differnet location from where it was originally published and saved. Why is that?
View 13 RepliesI'm starting a blog with a hosted wordpress instance and i would like to be able to stream music using a flash player on some posts.The problem is that every player i find uses a simple param to get the file url which makes it very easy for someone to find that url and just download the file.I know that it's probably impossible to prevent this all together, but i at least don't want it to be obvious.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to compile some code and I keep getting a "Type was not found or was not a compile time constant" error, but it doesn't give me a location. When I right-click the error and select "Go to source" nothing happens. Anyone know what could be causing something like this? Or where I should look if there is nothing in the location field of the error report? It's really perplexing.

I am using swf files for headers on my website. All has worked well until tonight. If I clear my browsing history in IE then go to my website, the swf does not show on the index page (index page only thus far). If you refresh the browser the file loads fine. The only thing I have changed is I added some css for a navigation bar, which I would not think would effect the swf. You can look at the site at [URL]

View 2 RepliesMy client wanted two distinct swf on a web page: a viewer on top and a slideshow of images at bottom.Clicking a link on the slideshow make the viewer load a movie, by means of LocalConnection api.The slideshow has a default, so when the page is loaded a default movie start.This works nice on all browser. The only problem I have is on firefox. When screen resolution is too low, or the monitor is too small (netbook) the slideshow remain hidden until scrolling. Therefore at page loading it doesn't start and the main viewer don't get instructed on playing the default video.As soon as I scroll the page, and the slideshow swf display on page, it starts and everything works fine. I cannot change the design, I must have two distinct swf, the come from a library he has, and I am trying to reuse components.

I am trying to read data from [URL] location in my flash file which is residing on a server. But I am not able to get any data. No issues in coding - checked with a local copy.

My problem is that I have a moveiclip (called "clip") and I have other movieclips on that stage that are "branches", and those branches are made up of branch parts.� These branch parts are in a movieclip called (branchpart) and some of these have been placed on the branch stage.� When I am on the clip stage and I try to get the location branch[i].branchpart[j].x and ranch[i].branchpart[j].y,this location is given in the coordinates of the branch stage, not the clip stage.� These branch parts are being moved in complex ways with respect to one another, so I am hoping that I can simply access the location on the clip stage of a single part without having to deconstruct the whole branch.�

I have created a booklet in InDesign cs4 that includes page turn transitions. I have saved it as a SWF file and it works perfectly on my PC with the ability to sweep through the page turns. My issue is now, what type of file can I export the SWF file to so that I can view it on an iPad and am still able to have the page curls?

I was wondering what kind of algorithm is used for that.I don't think its Levenshtein or similar since it only works with the beginning of the string.I'm thinking that it works by keeping a buffer of what has been written, and tries to find a string starting with that... if it doesn't find anything, it clears the buffer, and searches a string beginning with the last character pressed.I already prototyped this, and it works quite ok, with one caveat... In HTML, when you repeatedly press the same key, it will rotate between all options starting with that character.
