I have it working with hyperlinks using navigateToURL, but it's not doing exactly what I want. What I want is to use flash to call the link in the xml file. That link will target a javascript function. There is no need to open a new window. I'm trying to target a particular div on the page. Here's what I have so far:

I can't get it to work correctly, I get weird messages like "Call to undefined method removeChild" and it pointing to the redrawMap function. Which means it found the function, but I can't seem to do anything with it.
I got two AS3 functions. One that toggles fullscreen and one that is called with javascript with ExternalInterface that only logs "Hello World". Both works well in the browser, but if I try to call the fullscreen function with javascript the same way, i get an error like this: Error calling method on NPObject! I googled that problem but that only had something to do with same domain access, and sinced it worked with the other function, it has to be something else.

we are currently working with a tv site (flash) in which we have included 3 buttons , mini , standard and fullscreen.Mini will resize the browser window into a smaller size , while standard will resize it to the maximum available width and height.The fullscreen will play the video in fullscreen which is a new flash 9 feature.
The mini and standard buttons actually invokes a javascript function which resides in the flash container html page.The javascript code contains the satement window.Resizeto .The problem we are facing is that the functionality seems to behave inconsistently in IE.In IE 6 ,all the 3 buttons works perfectly.But once we touch the scrollbar , then the mini and standard wont work , it shows a javascript "access denied error".This error does not appear when the wmode in flash object tag is made transparent.But if wmode is made transparent , fullscreen wont work.This is given in adobes website.There is no problem in mozilla firefox .In IE7 we have the same problem as in IE6, apart from this mini and standard does not work at ALL when multiple tabs are open.I would like to know if thr is any way we could overide the javascript error and why does the error not appear when wmode is made is transparent ?
I am trying to attach URL's to a button in my Flash movie for a photo gallery. Photo, description and URL's will be generated from a XML file. The action script is as follows:

I'm trying to call a javascript function from within my swf and I'm having a couple of problems which are confussing me somewhat. I'm using this to call the function from flash:
ExternalInterface.call("pgcover"); I know that this is calling the function as I have set it trigger an alert action and this comes up properly. But I don't want the function to trigger an alert, this is just for testing purposes. I instead want it to change the styling on a div. I have set up a test page where I have asigned the function to a button and this works, the div display changes from block to none. When I get the swf to call the function setup to do the same thing, nothing happens.

how to call a flash function from an HTML page. The idea is to have a link on my page (HTML link) that once clicked displays a movieclip in flash. I know i have to use the asfunction in HTML. So far I have just created my swf file with a function called showInfo. I've embedded the flash into an HTML page. I have then added a link on the HTML page as follows:
<a href="asfunction:showInfo">Link name</a> but when I click it says: "Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (asfunction) isn't associated with any program."

I have what I think is an easy question but I am having problems with it... I'm new with strings and arrays. I want script to calling display objects to the stage and the timer to move images up and down to appear like a scrolling numbers. I start getting sloppy, and mess up passing to Tweener.

AS3 documentation says that Strings in AS3 are in UTF-16 format.There is a textbox on a Flash Clip where user can type some data.When a button is clicked, I want this data to be sent to a php script.I have everything set up, but it seems that the PHP script gets the data in UTF-16 format. The data in the database (which is utf-8) shows some unrecognizable characters (where special characters are used), meaning that the data has not been sent in a correct encoding.

I am trying to call a custom method of an embedded flash like so:

Which works great in Chrome ans Safari, but fails utterly in IE7 & IE8. The browsers throws an error that the object doesn't have such a method.

I've tried both Selenium server 1.0.3 and the 2.0 alpha 7 versions, they both display this behaviour. FlashSelenium is involved so I'm not sure where along the way lies the bug. Furthermore it's hard to reproduce as it doesn't happen only for some methods, and doesn't always happen.
I've tried searching for issues similar to these but couldn't find any remotely similar... Anyone experienced the same behavior? And if so, is there a fix for it? Edit: I doubt FlashSelenium is at fault for this, as the log tells that the command arrives correctly at the server... But I can't seem to be able to follow the path of execution from the moment the Selenium server gets the command and passes over to the browser, to the moment where it gets the response.
