ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Change Scale Of Parent MovieClip Only

Oct 18, 2009

In flash if I change scale of parent movieclip, scale of all child inside the parent was changed too. Now I look for the best way to fix child scale while parent scale is changing. I mean the way with minimum listener and cpu usage. In my project I have a map (as parent) and many icons on map (as childs). map has zoom in and zoom out button and pan while dragging.

ActionScript 2.0 :: HitBoxes Inside MovieClip Scale Smaller Than Parent

Jun 7, 2005

I'm creating a simple navigation for a portfolio site. On my main (root stage) I have one movie clip. Inside this movie clip I have all the elements of my website. I'm doing this so the user can scale and move the navigational elements around. This is accomplished by simply placing actionscript on frame 1 on the main (root stage).

Code:
nav._xscale = 60;
nav._yxcale = 60;

Eventually I will but a slider on the main stage so the user can scale to whatever size. My problem is that everything scales fine, however, the hitboxes become extremely small, and don't scale with the rest of the elements.

Code:
onClipEvent (load) {
this._x = 8;
this._y = 25;
speed = 2;
} onClipEvent (enterFrame) {

Flash :: Change Parent Of MovieClip?

Nov 30, 2009

I want to detach a movieclip and attach it elsewhere, but it doesn't seem possible in AS2.

I'm looking for an AS2 equivalent of Cocoa's addSubview/removeFromSuperview.

Is there alternatives routes to go, such as duplicating a movie with a new parent.. is that possible?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Make Filters Scale Relatively With Parent DisplayObject?

Nov 28, 2009

S there any way filters applied to a DisplayObject (drop shadow, glow, bevel) can scale relatively with the parent (the DisplayObject it is inside)?And what about other properties like .distance for drop shadow?For example... If I have a 100px rectangle with a 10px glow inside a container object, and I set scaleX/scaleY of the container to .1, I want the glow to inherit the scale change from the parent (1/10th the size) just as the display object does that the filter is applied to.Instead, if you try this, you will see the glow stays at 10px no matter what scale the filter target or the container is transformed by.Pseudocode example (steps to reproduce),

1) create a sprite called _myOuterSprite on stage at scaleX = scaleY = 1

2) create a sprite called _myInnerSprite inside _myOuterSprite at scaleX = scaleY = 1

3) draw 100px rectangle into _myInnerSprite

4) apply 10px glow to _myInnerSprite

5) transform scale of _myOuterSprite to .1

Result:

- child sprite (rectangle) scales to 1/10th the size

- glow stays the same size

How can I make it so that glow scales to 1/10th as well?

...without capturing and scaling bitmap data

...without losing interactivity on objects

...in a way that would work visually for every filter, not just glow (drop shadow has distance property too, etc)

I am trying to access a function that is on my document class for my AS3 project, from a nested class. That is, the Document Class calls Class A which then calls Class B. So I am trying to access a function from Class B, I am trying to use MovieClip(parent).function(); but I am getting error 1120. The MovieClip(parent) (fixed to reflect my document class, etc) works when I try it from other classes but not from this nested class.

Flash :: Tween - Smoothing Animation - Scale Parent Clip Very Slowly

Nov 29, 2009

I've got a MovieClip containing several child clips (images and text). I'm trying to scale this parent clip very slowly - from 102% down to 98% - this works, however the child movie clips are all scaling a bit jerkily - like they're trying to stick to pixels or something. What's the cure for this? The scaling is done by using a motion tween on the timeline by the way. I've tried to tick "Cache Bitmap" but that makes no difference. If I used the 3D motion tween, there is no jerkyness. But I need to publish to flash 9, so can't use that!

ActionScript 3.0 :: Change The Scale Of Some Buttons

Sep 18, 2010

i made it flash. in the actionscript code i use many tweens also to change the scale of some buttons. so when i click button A that loads section A all the other buttons get scaled to 0. then when i click the home button i want those buttons to reappear and function. but my problem is that when i scale them up again they don't function. so in the actionscript of the button A i use a eventlistener for click and then the graphics and the buttons all scale down to 0, then a uiLoader loads some text and i make the home button appear. But when i click the home button and everything reappears, the buttons that once where there don't function any more. Is this normal? how can i fix it. Sorry but i am very new in flash and actionscript.

ActionScript 1/2 :: Change Graph Scale To Logarithmic?

The scale is from 0 to 1200 and the problem I have is that the  value I want to show is usually so small that it looks like it's stuck  next to zero all the time. So, what I need is change the scale to  logarithmic so the values from 1 to 10 take up as much space as those  from 10 to 100 etc. and the small values show fluctuation. In thefollowing image you see on the left how it behaves now and on the  right how I need it to become (both show a visualization of a small  value, something around 7 or 8).

ActionScript 2.0 :: Change Scale Of Movie Clips?

Nov 9, 2005

I'm trying work out how I can resize movieclips with actionscript.

The plan is to have lets say 10 movieclips on my stage. You click on one of them and it grows smoothly to 200%, where as the other movie clips all shrink down to 10%.

If you then clicked on another MC (currently 10%) this one will begins to grow to 200%. The previous (currently 200%) will shrink to 10% and the MCs that are already 10% remain how they are.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Change The Rotational/scale Point On A Object/sprite?

Jul 31, 2009

When you load a object through flash, you can set the rotational/scale point, but when you load it as a loader object or sprite, how do you change this point?

In this instance, I want to change the height of a sprite that is filled with a rectangle so that it shrinks down, not up.

Right now:

var colored_bar:Sprite = new Sprite();
with (colored_bar.graphics) {
beginFill(0x9e1819, 1);

[Code]....

The way I am doing it currently is moving the y position everytime I take away soem of the height, so it looks like it's moving down, but I'd think moving the orientation point at the beginning would be faster

ActionScript 2.0 :: Create Simulated 3D Rotating Set Of Images - Change Scale, Depth, And _y Based On _x?

Jun 26, 2007

I'm looking to create a rotating set of images, simulated to look 3D... that can rotate either left or right, reactive to someones mouse location.

The path of the images would look like a flat oval, and as the images came to the forefront, they would be at full scale, have the lowest position (high _y), have the highest depth (appear in front of everything else) and be dead center _x.

As they slide left or right, they would reduce everything by a relative 50% to the final shift (scale, _y, and depth) until they got to the end, moving in an upward arc following the oval path. When they got to the end, and kept rotating beyond (move in the opposite _x. but appear to follow the flow of the arc), continuing to decrease in scale, _y, and depth.
