ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Put Confirmation On Player Exit
Sep 2, 2008Is it possible to detect the exit button was pressed and handle it (cancel it)? I would like to put a confirmation on the player exit but I cannot find anything.

Mar 29, 2010I have a show reel page on my server which shows two movies. Page one has text info and two buttons to direct viewer to which ever movie they want to view. Each movie is on its own page in the flash file (page2 and page3) and is not embedded in swf (pulled from server on request).
If you click on one movie button then change your mind and go to the second one then thats ok, but if you then decide to click back to your first choice then the crap hits the fan, that first movie is still running and hasn't returned to beginning. Visually you just get the green loading bar freaking out.
So I need some code to stop the FLV player each time viewers exit from one of the movies.
Here is my actionscipt on frame1

Dec 8, 2008I have a project that has multiple swf files for each of the sections. One of my sections has some videos in it. When I start playing a video and click on a button for the main menu (button code is on the main menu page with addChild to place them on the additional swf pages) the video keeps playing on the new page. I don't want to hear the video on the different pages. I was wandering if there is a way to stop the video player when I exit the swf? Or are there any other ways to get the video to stop when I go to a different section of my project.

Oct 30, 2011I am currently writing a Flash AS3 website where users upload file(s), I take payment, and when payment has been received, the files are emailed to me to be processed, all within the same SWF.
I can get the upload and email part all working nicely. My question is about the payment part. Ideally, I would like to use Paypal but the critical point is that payment and then confirmation must all be within the same SWF. If Paypal directs to another page and returns to a different URL (or the same one for that matter), the SWF would have ended which would be a problem for the emailing part.
Is there a solution for Paypal to take money within the same SWF and just allow further functions to run on confirmation?

Flex :: Show A Confirmation Message (not A Dialog) Without An Alert?
Mar 1, 2012I'm working on a project for a User Interface Design class, so the emphasis is on the UI being as nice to use and non-annoying as possible. I would like to display a message to the user after they've clicked save, for example, without requiring them to click an OK button. I'm thinking of the kind of thing you see in gmail if you send a message or do some other actions, where a message appears on the screen, but the message disappears after you do something else.
I'm sure there's a way to do this in Flex (I'm using 4.6), but I just don't know what it is. I'm pretty new to Flex and I'm having trouble finding anything via Google, because the results keep showing confirmations messages in Alerts; I don't know the search terms to get the results I'm looking for.

now i need to send the results to the mail and send a confirmation email to the user which may (doesnt have to) contain the users input.
I tried all kinds of tutorials but they were all made for as1 or dindnt have the dateChooser and list component included in them.
does anybody know a good tutorial for this or a source file wich may come in handy?

Flash CS3 Will Not Exit (Windows XP SP3)
Jun 2, 2009I have installed the CS3 on a Dell workstation with Windows XP SP3 and when I try to exit when finished, Flash will not exit. It seems like it is trying but will not close. There is no error, the program just sits there. You have to right click on the program and click close to get it to close. Then the program wants to send a error.

Mar 23, 2011I am having a problem with fullscreen in Flex 4. I want to use the esc key to escape fullscreen mode and at the same time change the size and position of my video. I put the player in fullscreen using a button but I don't want to use it to exit fullscreen. only with the esc key This is the following code I used to put the player in fullscreen and the video with an appropriate size:

I tried different ways to do this (tried to see when the stagedisplaystate was normal with a timer checking that every millisecond, tried to use a keypress and keydown on esc key, tried to use event listener with fullscreenevent) and every single one of those appeared with an error. flash builder 4 didn't even let me use some functions and events that worked on other people (I searched different forums). there was always an error there. its the only thing that isn't working on my player and I need it for school.

Now she wants the background music to sop when the FLVs are playing and start when I exit the FLV and go to another portion of the site. I hope I am being clear.

Feb 2, 2012I have a Flash GUI...I need to produce a product for delivery on CD/DVD and one of the requirements is for the application to "resume" from the spot where the user quit the application.The fact is, I found a way to do it and it was working perfectly...but once I edited the FLA and republished, the SO only resumed up to a certain point...and the only thing I added to the file was AS to disable the primary navigation buttons at certain locations.[code]
