Is there a method that you can call that can prompt the user to open a file? Here is what I have:

We have created an app file using flash cs3, in this we have used action script using "navigateURL" function to open a doc file. but this function open an folder where the word file located it does not open a word file directly, our need is to open an doc file directly in app file.

I have been working on a project for a week and suddenly it crashed during save (nothing strange had been imported or anything i just saved after moving content around) and now i cant open my file again. I contacted adobe support who claim that since the problem is related to the file this is not their problem, what a load of HORSE ****, who should i contact about this dell if its an FLA FILE!? I have already renamed the file to flash.zip then opened with WinRar and repaired as a new zip file to a different folder (which removes the corrupt content which is document something.xml) then i tried renaming this folder back to flash.fla however the file still does not open.

If you press "s" repeatly it continues to open the window over and over without it finish fully playing, is there a way to add a timer to the "s" so it can only work once every few seconds or possibly a way to make the url completly open before you can press the "s" again??

I have a bunch of flv files and at the momment when a user clicks on the link to each of the files on my site, they are prompted to download each FLV file or asked how to open the video. Is it possible so that when the user clicks on the link the file opens and plays in a flv player( not embedded though), without asking to be downloaded or how to open the video ? Do i have to somehow add the player code to the flv file ?

View 1 RepliesI'm building a kind of dynamic level generator, at the moment I have it draw a grid of alternating coloured squares/plots (for visual debug), currently set at 1 pixel which I then scale up so they are easier to see. I make a list of all these open 'plots' in an array(maybe a dictionary would be better?)... Next I draw a random selection of roads on top of my grid in another sprite. Ranging in width from 2 to 8 plots. First drawing all the horizontal, and then the vertical ones. Now I'm wondering what would be the best way of finding all the plots/pixels that these roads occupy?I thought perhaps I could draw the roads into bitmap data, and then find the x,y values of all the black pixels? something like:

I got a website that has different buttons that each open a different movieclip (a window with content).
But some buttons will have to open the same movieclip as the other button...

How to make a button which opens a pop up window(don't really knows if that's the correct name) with a image or text, centered, but the site isn't available unless I click the "x" button on that window or outside the window.
