How can I import all files and classes into my AIR bundle... it must take a note that I created first a flex project, and set it's main class as Actionscript (.as) . When I build a release all my imports (org) etc.. are not included in the .AIR installer... i have checked this by installing the app and then after show package contents, notice that the diretory structure exists but it doesn't include any of other .as used as imports...

Is it possible to include PDF files within a Flash site that can then subsequently be downloaded by users of the site? Or does this have to be done through dreamweaver or a combination of both?

I've seen people mention they can include .html, .js, etc files with their iOS for AIR publish when making an iOS application from flash.
What I haven't seen is how these people include extra files (html, css, images, videos, etc) to be packaged into the IPA during publish.

Am still learning AS3 and am using Flash Professional. I have a number classes that I use in my project:
import fl.controls.Button;
import fl.controls.TextInput;
import com.adobe.images.PNGEncoder;
import flash.media.Camera;
import flash.media.Video;
When I run the .fla file with Flash Professional, the file/movie executes beautifully. However, when I publish the file and run .swf in Flash Player rather than through Flash Professional, the file/movie loads but does not do anything once I click on the buttons. It appears as the imported classes as not being included in the published file. What am I missing here?

Currently these files reside in folders under my main library where all flash entities (AS3 code, buttons graphics etc reside)What software do I need to use to accomplish that?I now work in CS4 under winXP

I want to include external code without importing a custom class in as3. My code is getting too long and I need to find a way to segment it into logical groups of functions located in separate action script files.

I am building an application template in FlashDevelop/Flash, to be used as the template for all our future projects. In a swc-free world, the template has a bunch of library symbols and a whole package of classes in the /lib/ folder that run the whole thing.
What I would like to do, is package all that up into a single swc, so the team can checkout the latest build of the swc from svn at the start of a project, put it in the /lib/ folder and forget about it.
However, all attempts to do this have failed so far. Is it even possible to put everything into one swc?

I'm building an Air app that uses an .app/.exe file as a bridge to hardware devices.
Ideally, I would like to include the executable with the Air app installer and launch the external program together with the Air app.
How do decide which OS specific file to launch?
EDIT: OK, the above wasn't very difficult:
var file:File = File.applicationDirectory;
file = file.resolvePath("src/assets/NativeApps");
if (Capabilities.os.toLowerCase().indexOf("win") > -1) {

I have moved our project from SDK 2.0.1 to 3.5 because I'm using TLF. This has compiled OK in flex builder 3 IDE but I am now using command line compilation for our build system and getting errors for all the standard Flex resource bundles: Sharedresources, collections, containers, controls etc. I can see this is because of the improvements in Flex 3 and the SDK local folder doesn't have these as .properties files but now has a framework_rb.swc.

I get the following error when running my ANT script:
Error: Unable to resolve resource bundle "data" for locale "en_US"
I have tried to implement all the answers I've found about this question (and there were a lot); forcing to compile to flash player 10, including all libraries, etc.. but nothing is working.
Here is my code:
<mxmlc
file="${PALM_SRC_DIR}/PALM.mxml"
output="${SHELL_DIR}/PALM.swf"
[Code].....
what could I possibly be missing? Aren't I including all libs that I need?
I've removed the last 2 compiler.library-path options and replaced it with this: It's still not working but I feel like I'm coding it correctly because it's looking for the framework SWC as run-time shared library, which it really is.

I'm trying to make a flash game where people write small files, and they get included into the game. However, I need to use #include with a variable, but it won't let me (malformed). I need it to be a variable so the user can choose the file to be included. Anyways, how can I get around this? I need it so it will import the script and use it, if theres another way I'll be happy to hear.

You know them flash decompilers - can they read your comments you leave in your code?Also, is there anyway to remove the comments if they can -- and can you somehow remove all whitespace and compact it so the swf runs faster, better, and is a smaller file?

I would like to include fonts in a SWF that I am building using Flash CS3 and AS 3. I have found lots of examples online that look like
this:
[Embed(source="C:WINDOWSFontsARIAL.TTF",
fontFamily="Arial")]
private var _arial_str:String;
However, the definition of the variable defined below the EMBED tag varies, sometimes its "Class", sometimes its "Font".
In any event, the font is used this way:
mytext.font = "Arial"
The problem is that this does not work for me. I have tried the various types mentioned above for the asset but none makes any difference.
If I embed the font in the library of my project I can access the font this way:
mytext.font = new AvantGarde().fontName;
But when I try this code with the Embed tag I get different errors compile time depending on how I've define the variable.
It appears that the code samples I found are for Flex and not Flash?
I really want to be able to make this work without embedding the fonts in the library.
