Sep 26, 2009I am trying to include my Adobe Flash CS3 movies on my HTML websites. The website is validated XHTML 1.0 strict. It works fine in IE and is valid. (IE uses the OBJECT tag) In Firefox, I cannot have my movie since the EMBED tag is depreciated-If I do have the Flash movie included to work in Firefox, it will not validate since the EMBED tag is depreciated. Is there any way to have it work in FireFox and be XHTML 1.0 Strict valid? My URL is:(Flash on top)

What I haven't seen is how these people include extra files (html, css, images, videos, etc) to be packaged into the IPA during publish.

Nov 27, 2011Am still learning AS3 and am using Flash Professional. I have a number classes that I use in my project:
import fl.controls.Button;
import fl.controls.TextInput;
import com.adobe.images.PNGEncoder;
import flash.media.Camera;
import flash.media.Video;
When I run the .fla file with Flash Professional, the file/movie executes beautifully. However, when I publish the file and run .swf in Flash Player rather than through Flash Professional, the file/movie loads but does not do anything once I click on the buttons. It appears as the imported classes as not being included in the published file. What am I missing here?

Jul 13, 2009I have 15 movie clips that play one at a time. When the first one calls the second movie clip there is a short space (black screen) between the two which I have to eliminate. I tried loading the second one half way thru the first movie then tell it to play when the first movie is over, but when I do that you can see a disturbance in the first movies performance when the second one is pre-loaded. Is there a way around this so I can make 15 movies run seamlessly? They are separate .swf files!

Feb 23, 2009I have a 1900 x 1240 .swf file that has a set of buttons on each side. Each button calls for and loads a single movie into a 900 x 600 area in the middle of the screen. I haven't had any trouble setting things up so that the .swf movies, including a converted QTVR file, all load into that 900 x 600 area. One of my buttons calls for a .swf movie that contains a zoom-in and rescale - the link for how this was created can be found at Flash Zoom In Movie Clip and Rescale. The stage for this file is set at 900 x 600. When this Zoom.swf is loaded up by pressing the button, it resizes itself to 1900 x 1240. As well as being annoying, this obliterates the view of all my buttons and interface. I just can't figure out how to make it sit in the middle of the screen at a size of 900 x 600.

Jan 16, 2007I have an intro.swf file that is basically a movie with sound that is exported for actionscript but not exported in the first frame. I just stuck it in a movie on my timeline and it works great and the preloader works because it doesn't load the sound before the preloader. I use :
musicSound = new Sound();
musicSound.attachSound("music");
musicSound.start();
to play the sound in intro.swf.
However, now this intro.swf gets loaded into an index.swf and everything works fine and the sound plays as long as I have the sound included in BOTH the intro.swf and the index.swf and the sound is exported on the first frame in the index.swf. I was hoping I could remove the sound entirely from my index.swf since it already loads into the intro but so far

In essence I wish to create a panel that rolls out on rollover and rolls back in reverse when the you rollout. I have done this using this script

However I wish to make movies within this movie that have the same effect on them. But when I create another movie or button within this movie it is not registering on rollover. I guess because the script on the main movie overrides it?

Nov 3, 2010In AS3, I know how to accomplish this. One needs only to click "ActionScript Settings", and navigate to the SWC file under "SWC Files or Folders Containing SWC Files".
However, when the project is set to AS2, the "Actionscript 2.0 Settings" is a rather sparse menu, and adding the folder as a classpath doesn't seem to work.

Aug 17, 2010I have downloaded some external actionscript library in a form of a bunch of folders with .as files that have the following folder structure:
com/helper_lib1/*.as
com/helper_lib2/*.as
com/primary_lib/LibClass.as <- primary lib I want to use
Lib.as has the following code:

import com.helper_lib1.*;
import com.helper_lib2.*;
public class LibClass extends MovieClip{.....
Now I have some fla project where I want to use this com/primary_lib/lib.as, something like:
import com.primary_lib.LibClass;
var test:LibClass = new LibClass();...
How to include this library into my project and where should I put all those files? I already tried putting them into every possible folder but I always get definition com.primary_lib:LibClass could not be found error.

Feb 15, 2011I'm naturally a PHP coder, but I have to use flash for a part of a project.I was wondering if I have files such as mainsite.swf and page1content.swf, is there a way to simply include the page1content.swf file into a predefined area on the mainsite.swf file (as in PHP's include)?Also, would it be possible to use this flash "include" to embed external swf's?Finally, ideally I'd be able to merge these files together, but from what I've read, it's a tricky business, with filenames, referencing etc, so this is optional.
