I am building an app that needs to load and add a swf to the stage but I dont know how, I could get the whole "URL" of the file by using the class File for AIR but when I try to load it with a Loader it wont work...
I'm trying to load a radar image over a google map. The problem is, I'd like to load the image from a local file. I understand how to do this remoteley via a url, buit not from a local file. I've read something about embedding, but I don't know what embedding means. I'm going to need this image to change, and eventaully want to have a loop of images playing over the map. Below is what I have so far. You can see I've commented out the line with the url loading, and have a fail attempt at loading locally below it.[code]...
I try to upload file from local system to web server.My application is desktop application and I work with php server.Find below my code
In flex
var dropfiles:Array = evt.clipboard.getData(ClipboardFormats.FILE_LIST_FORMAT) as Array; for each (var file:File in dropfiles){ var fileFormat:String = file.extension; var fileUrl:String = file.url;
[code]....
With those code message "Error #2044: Unhandled IOErrorEvent:" appear on flex.
I am trying to use the localhost server on my macbook for website development (instead of doing testing by ftp). I downloaded the files from my webserver to the Site folder on my macbook. The Apache is running. My site is flash and make use of the SWFAddress class. The AC_RunActiveContent.js file is in the same folder as the index.html file. When I try to open the page [URL] in firefox, the title and favicon loaded properly, but the embedded flash could not be displayed. However, the same set of files works alright on the remote web server.
I thought it might be problem with the directory and I have tried ./swf/home.swf, swf/home.swf, /swf/home.swf in the index.html file but none work. I already tried changing all the swf/home or ../swf/home.swf or whatever to swf/home.swf but still the flash does not load. I am posting this index.html coz despite all the discrepancies, it works on the remote server.
Would this be problem relating to the SWFAddress class?
I want to store some test data for a FlexUnit test in small XML files in my Flex project, and access them trivially for the flex test. How can I load these bits of data synchronously? HTTPService is the way I'd be loading them _a_synchronously, but adding event handlers to my test cases seems like a bit of overkill.
I have noticed that I have to put flv files in the same or sub-directories of the application file, for example myproject/bin-debug/flvs/1.flv, and use videodisplay.source="flvs/1.flv" to load.
If I put it in myproject/flvs/1.flv, I cannot load it in VideoDisplay, using videodisplay.source="../flvs/1.flv". However the metadata (duration for example) is retrieved, but play() cannot start it.
I'm currently developing a flex mobile project. I currently need to load local javascript using stagewebview. Like:
var str:String = '<head>'+ '<script src="myLocalJs.js"/>'+ '</head><body>...</body>'; webView:StageWebView = new StageWebView(); webView.loadString(str);
Is there any way to load local javascript using StageWebView? I'm not expecting an answer like 'There is a project called StageWebViewBridge' since it does't have all the features I need.
its possible to load an image from a local drive and how is it done? Coz I've been trying to load an image by using this "file:///C|" but its not loading when I'm trying to access it in the network. Is there any way to load it locally?My goal is to run the swf in the network and load the images from the clients drive.
I know it's possible to load and save a local file using CS4 and Flash Player 10, but my question is if I can load a SWF local file without using 'browse' and 'load' methods and then save it. I really pretend to "copy" a specific SWF local file into another folder on my HD and I think this is possible loading first this file and then saving it. For this reason I don't want the dialog box appears (with browse method). ('maybe with 'Loader'?)
i wonder if it's possible to load an image to a flash movie from your local hard drive without uploading the image to the server?
eg: loadMovie("C://yourImage.jpg");
it works fine locally, but once i upload it to the server, the image won't be loaded.
the reason is, i want to build a flash site that allow users to create an e-Card using their own image from local drive. i don't want users to upload anything to the server.
I thought that you could load a file into flash using FileReference. But as far as I understand you have to upload the file to a server and then download it from the server into your flash app to access it?It seems a bit like going passed the river for water (bad translation of swedish expression).
I'm writing a Flash-based video player which simply plays FLV videos. A filename is passed in via a flashvar. Presently, this is achieved with the following function:
[Code]...
A video is grabbed and then added to the stage, with a player skin overlaid. However, what I want to do is load a video from the file system (the same server the SWF is deployed to) rather than fetching a video from a URL. Reading the documentation for the source property tells me it will only accept URLs. The reason I want to read from the file system is because these videos will be stored outside the root of the server. For example, a standard Apache set-up:
I'm building an AIR application which will be used to edit slideshows for another app (also built by me, but not in AIR). The slideshows and other data are defined in several xml files which are in the other application's program folder. When trying to load these into my AIR app I get the following error:
fault(mx.messaging.messages::ErrorMessage)#0 body = "" clientId = "DirectHTTPChannel0"
In a very simple first AIR application (I'm using Flash Builder 4.5), I am trying to accomplish the following on my MacBook:
Read a local file (JSON format) into the AIR app. Parse through the file. Display some selected contents in a grid.
That's it.
I've found an example that does some simple JSON parsing in Flex, but the problem is that it loads the JSON source from a remote web site.
So do I need to load any file-specific libraries to make this work in AIR? Or can I simply refer to the file by using the Mac file-path? I just want the local file to be the JSON source. The parsing is already taken care of.
This is really irritating me. In ruby it is very simple to load an mp3 file via its file class and manipulate it, even play it. (Yes, I am aware that this is as3 ).According to what the stdlib documentation says I should be able to use:
//assume I am irritated and have defined a public static variable called soundClip Main.soundClip.load(new URLRequest("C:lo1.mp3")); Main.soundClip.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete, false, 0, true);
I'm having a problem with flash/javascript/iframes. I have a flash banner that is positioned at a fixed position on the bottom of the screen. When I press a button on the banner, the page (which is an iframe) should change.
I got it to work using javascript. But it only works on the Internet. On my local computer it doesn't work. No error, nothing. it is a task for school (for my exams) so it should work only locally.
Check out: [URL] and click on "Vanille", the page should change.
I need to save data to the local disk and then load it back up again as required. I'm using a local shared object to save data to and this works fine. Getting it back out again seems less straightforward. This is the code I'm using:
//Saving myLocal_so = sharedobject.getLocal("flashcookie","/"); datastring = "anyoldstuff";//sample data to save myLocal_so.data.savegame = datastring; myLocal_so.flush();
how to allow the user to upload some image of his/her choice from his/her local computer, plus adding some control on size and dimension limit.
I've seen this performed for instance in webs where they sell sunglasses. The movie allows you to upload your own picture of yourself so that you can virtually try them on.
I am currently using filereference in as3 to load a file from the users local disk and display instantly within a loader on the stage. This works fine but i am now needing to load files that are already stored on a server not the local disk, is this possible?
I have tried loading the url into a loader object but this takes far too long if the image is quite big where is filereference is almost instant.
My current code is:
Code: var mFileReference:FileReference; browseButton.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, onBrowseButtonClicked); function onBrowseButtonClicked(event:MouseEvent):void {
[Code]....
Is there anyway i can take out the browse and selected stages and just load the server based image?
I am a developer in Web Flash Game.(I use AS3.0) I want to save and load the swf-file to a local disk of any user,Because I want to decrease the time for loading a flash movie from site.Is it possible?If it is possible, I hope the swf-file has only one loading from site and it will be loaded from a local disk of any user after that. (I know a concept of Internet temporary file. I want to know the other techniques of only using AS3.0.)
