I'm using the following code to try to open a new window and load an swf onto it. The window opens and it says the swf is being loaded, but I see nothing. If you remove "newWin." From the very last line it loads the swf properly on the 1st window. The only object on the stage is a button with the instance name "test_btn".
How do I load an external swf into an external window? I'm using the following code, it works if i add the swf to the original window's stage but not if i add it to the new window's stage.
I've got a few .swf files with video tutorials I've created using Captivate 4.I wanted to link them so I've created a main screen with menu with buttons in Flash.I've added AS to load the external swf files but they load in the same window. How can I load these .swf files in seperate window so that you could get back to the main window after you've finished watching?[code]...
I found two tutorials that both contain pieces of what i am looking for but i cant seem to figure them out and get exactly what i want. Here is the first one[url]...
In the first one, the general idea is what i am looking for. Except that i want to load a movieclip and not an image. My problem in this one is the button component that is used. I have no clue how to skin or customize the button, and i cant find a good tutorial to help me so i figured it might be easier to just change the actionscript for this. I want to be able to create my own button (instance button) and use that so that when people release that button, the movie clip pops up![url]...
I'm trying to load a local SWF Application in my Air Application via the SWFLoader class. The SWFLoader class is displayed in a new Window. Therefore, i'm trying to resize the window automatically, when the Flash Application is resizing. But here's the problem. The SWFLoader does not get any events when the loader App has been resized.
The Problem seems to be the Sandbox Restrictions. I'm able to call methods in the childSandboxBridge and parentSandboxBridge Objects that i've set in the LoaderInfo of the SWFLoaders content (the loaded SWF Application). But i cannot listen to any ResizeEvents or something like that when i'm resizing the loaded App.
I want to load external .exe or .swf in new flash window.I do not want to open it in an internet window.I want to open an .exe and click on a button that will open another .exe or .swf.I want to keep both flash windows open.I want to have the new one on top of the first one and I want it full screen.I am using Flash CS4 Action Script 2.0.I am using this code for full screen of second .exe or .swf
fscommand("fullscreen","true");
I am using this code to close the second .exe or .swf
I am wondering what the AS code is to get a URL link in flash AS2 to open up into the new window that it already opened up the first time. Basically, I am making an online store. Once you hit the "Add to cart" Button, it opens the shopping cart up into a new window. ("_blank") Which I want it to. But now, when the shopper comes back to the window with the store in it and adds another Item to their cart, they now have 2 shopping carts open. I want it to refresh the shopping cart window that was opened the first time with the updated information, instead of opening an additional one everytime something new is added to the cart.
I am trying to set it up so that when someone goes to a page on this site, it plays the audio MP3 and then when that MP3 is completed, refreshes the current browser window with the new page. What I have so far in Actionscript 3 is that it works, but loads new page in a new browser window while the MP3 is still playing.Here is the code I have so far, all in a single KeyFrame.
Code: var url:String = "url2file/preroll.mp3"; var urlRequest2:URLRequest = new URLRequest(url);
I have a script that is a flash based scroller that takes the information from an xml file:There are scrolling thumbnails, when you click on them it takes you to a new url page. Only it's loading the url in the same window and I'd like for it to load in a blank or new window.Here's what I have now:
Script from FLASH: filename_list = new Array(); url_list = new Array(); title_list = new Array();
Ok i have a dragable window that i want text to be loaded into from a .txt. I used loadvariable and when i click my button and the window pops up no text. the close button on the window works, and i can drag it but no text. i tried pulling the text window and all its code out of the Window symbol but then the text didnt follow the window.
So basically i have a flash application that needs to call a url when a button is clicked, but i don't want it to actually load a new window or even load the url. All the button does is call the url and it logs it, kind of like a click tag. My server keeps track of the number of times the particular url is called.
Everything works fine, but everytime i do it, it opens up a new browser window that is empty, i do not want to open a new window. I am using getURL, but that actually opens a new page, is there any other way to do this?
I have this script on an invisible button on a banner ad, but the client doesn't want the linked page to open in a new window, but rather load over the page in same window. How can I change the script to accomplish this,
link_btn.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouseDownHandler); function mouseDownHandler(event:MouseEvent):void { navigateToURL(new URLRequest("http://www.sdesignsstore.com/store.html"));
I have developed a full screen .exe flash file in actionscript 2. It controls physical lights (e.g. turn on and off) by simply calling a URL for each action. However, I don't want the called URL's to open in front of the interface. Is there a way to call a hidden URL in flash?
I've created a standalone Kiosk that sends data input from the user to an ASP page.
Everything is working perfectly except that since this is a Kiosk, there is no need for browsers. When I send the info to the ASP page, it pops up a new browser window.
Here is my code: -------------------------------- on(release){ v = new LoadVars(); v.send("http://www.cube-interactive.com/clients/healthsource

My code doesn't work.I use flash 8 (AS 2.0). When I click a button, I want it to load another flash file but not into the same parent/web page. I need the file to load in it's own window. on (release) { loadMovie("MyAccountPage.swf", "_blank"); } After this, I still do not get a respond when I test run the script.
I am building a site, and for each page I am using a draggable window. Each window is in a seperate swf file, so the need to be loaded.I am going to have the windows cascading so you have to close them to get rid of them.However i thought it would be nice so when you clicked the tab of a window, which is hidden beneath any other windows that are open, it pops up to the front, just like microsoft windows really.I was just wondering how i would do this, i thought about loading the swf's into levels, and thought maybe there was a script which could swap levels or something.
I have a main flash movie that has 6 navigation buttons for 6 sections of the website. Each button loads an external swf to cutdown on preloader time for the whole website. Within each section, for example section1.swf, there are a number of images you can click through, with previous and back buttons. On each image in section1.swf is a button so that you can popup a window with more related info and images. So, in section1.swf on the first image image1_mc there is a button pop_btn, and I would like it to open a popup_mc which loads an external swf. Popup_mc would have a close_btn to close the window. I have tried various things for 2 weeks, and have had no luck. I can open a popup window, or I can load a swf, but I can't figure out how to put it all together.
I have a small snippet of code which stretches the swf to the size of the window... but it's only working if the window is resize and not on the initial load? I can't work out what's gone wrong?!
I have created a popup window in a flex website and I wanted to load a HTML page inside that popup. I tried many ways to do it but that way unsuccessful. Can someone recommend me a approach to get this done?
i would like that my window opens and closes (opens: scale out; closes: scale in) not by clicking on the button but on the window itself.here are 3 applications of mine (schuifwindow, scroll and fotoalbum).
Grtz,Jan the man
here are 3 applications of mine (schuifwindow, scroll and fotoalbum). schuifwindow www.truevision.be/other/btn_home.flascroll www.truevision.be/other/scroll.flafotoalbum www.truevision.be/other/foto_album.fla only picture one (left up corner) has a X button (i dont want to use this button)
I am preparing a presentation DVD... DVD will contain wmv video, user manual and another flash exe file... So DVD interface will contain three elements; user manual, a flash exe file and video.. Flash video window will be short-time video, playing like 5-10 seconds then repeats itself... My question is, how could I accomplish to put video window playing certain amount of time then repeats itself, in main window? I need as3 fla example, which could be so useful for me..
I'm trying to place a popup window (TitleWindow) in the middle of the main application window. how do i set the coordinates of my popup window to be of the main application window? i tried the localToGlobal function but with no luck, I just can't get the main window x and y.
So I have this AIR app coded in flex where I have several floating native windows and what I want is to detect when a user clicks outside of a window so that I can close it. (I don't want to use the PopupManager Class and would want to use the native windows).
My question is, is there a way to detect a click outside of a spark window, or alternativley is there some root container/object which is a parent to all the native windows so that a click inside any native window would bubble up to it? (Apparently the stage object of the root windowed application is not that object since each window is not a child of the stage for the root application).
I created a Flash application that reads POST data from a form. A user clicks the button, and the data gets posted to the flash app in a new window (_blank). Now takes the data and then spins a wheel to give users a prize. If they don't win a message pops up letting them know they didn't win. If they don't win, clicking the OK button needs to close the browser window.
I've tried a number of solutions and it seems that the only way to get this done is to launch the window with javascript and then use ExternalInterface.call('window.close'); to close the window from within the Flash actionscript (3) because otherwise the window won't close (I've tried just using window.close and window.close() with no luck)
I understand how to launch a new window with javascript, but I don't know how to simultaneously launch and POST data to that window (the Flash application has to have the POST data. Is this the best solution? Is there a way to close a browser window easier than what I'm describing?[URL]
