ActionScript 3.0 :: Loading Child SWF From Subdomain?

I have a.swf, which is the SWF file for my main application, and it's trying to load in b.swf, which contains some additional resources as well as some Actionscript. a.swf lives on sub1.my.domain.com and b.swf lives on sub2.my.domain.com (both on the same domain, just different subdomains.) In a.swf, I've loaded the crossdomain.xml from domain.com and also added the following code into both a.swf and b.swf:
I know this is not flash oriented but after i make my flash website i copy the files into the www folder on my linux webhosting service and the index page loads when anyone uses the website url. Now if i want to have a second website at the same url how do i add a second domain ? my hosting service shows im allowed a max of 5 subdomains. me just where to put the second sites files including its own index file and how should the url be spelt to access the second site ?
I have a problem with a flash header - the links in it does not work unless they point to another domain other than the one that it's hosted at. I suspect that its got to do with domains but I'm not sure and that's why I'm here The flash (a header for a blog) is located at [URL], but the blog using it is located at blog.hotsailsmaui.com. The subdomain is located at another IP-range, namely Googles [URL].No links in the Flash-header pointing at pages at [URL] work, but all links pointing at other domains work. The Flash-header works as it shuld at [URL] but not at the blog.
I've been given an fla to make some changes too. Basically its a fairly long timeline animation with sound. So far I've successfully added a few button functions for sound etc.. but one has got me stumped.One of the buttons needs to load a child swf. I'm using the code below but I'm recieving an error - 'Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference'. I believe this may be refferring to an object that isn't set yet but I have no idea which one it is:[code]
I have a picture on the stage that has multiple items that have hotspots/links over them that should open a child swf on top of the background and show details about the items. then have a button in the child swf itself that removes the child from over the background so the user can click on another item etc.I found this code in someone's post and I am trying to modify it so that works for multiple swf files...it currently works for a single swf.I wan to pass the name of the button in front of the .swf in the URLRequest to have the same name as the instance name of the referring button. I'm confused on the parent/child thing. Seems like the "child" statement would refer to the file I'm loading, not the file I'm in? I want the file I'm IN to kill ITSELF when it loads the next swf (it's child?)And then there are other times when I want them to stack one on top of the other. I've added comments above each set of button code to explain./This code is in home swf. Handles portfolio buttons. I do not want to unload Home.swf, so this works fine.
I have a portfolio page with several trailer thumbnails (a portfolio list). If you click on each, the page changes and you see the trailer in a video player, plus more info about the film. I used two frames in the timeline: the first frame has the clip with the thumbnails (port_list). The second frame has a movie clip container and the video player. The idea is that pressing the respective button from port_list will load the details of that movie and the movie into the video player. I am using this script:
I have a Main.swf that loads an external Child.swf, also the Child.swf loads some external files. My problem is that once the Main.swf loads the Child.swf. The paths that Child.swf reads (for it's external files) are no longer normal and it reads the paths from the Main.swf. (Main.swf is in another folder). Is there a way to lock the paths of the child.swf dynamically from the Main.swf?
I'm getting a bald patch on my head from frustration with the following problem. I have a parent AS3 swf which loads in a AS2 swf like so;

contained in the AS2 file is the following script which loads in jpegs when the user clicks the next button, etc.

however when you view the AS2 swf via the AS3 swf it does not seem to load in the jpgs when requested. I need to retain the AS2 file so cannot rewrite in AS3 as the image loading thing is only a small part of the AS2 file.
having trouble removing loaded child object b4 loading a new one i can load a child object with this script if button is pressed:

but having difficulty unloading child object when just that mc_char.btn_darkangel button is pressed. Cause otherwise it just adds another instance then another and another and the different instances kinda pile ontop of each other my question is how can i incorporate removeChild script so that mc_char.btn_darkangel doesn't just pile instances of image ontop of each other
I have a class that creates a navBar with some buttons. Each button loads an external .swf and everything is working just fine BUT the code is really awkward. I also wanted to use TweenLite to add transitions from section to section.I also wanted to handle the "section change" process from yet another Class (SectionChange) but whenever I try it I fail miserably. Here's what I have (including the vars), without the SectionChange Class, that's working.

edit: Now that I'm adding the _sectionChange to the display list I only get the following error: TypeError: Error #2007: Parameter child must be non-null.
im loading photos of different aspect ratios with a loader onto a child holder frame_mc. I wanted to know what AS3 commands do i need to work on to get the frame_mc to resize to the new childs dimensions and centerize itself on the main stage? (as in event listeners, functions, vars etc)
I have One SWF loading Two External SWFs seprately that have dataGrid components in them. The Externals load and run fine on their own but when I try to load them into CORE SWF I get ....

I have a movieClip with one frame on the timeline containing one child whose instance name is "myContent"I am using this function to swap "myContent" with any number of possible class instances.
I've used this site as a resource leading up to this, not particularly sure if I worded this correctly I have a class "Block" which is just a square (will be something else later on in the process) I want each block to have controls to add an additional block in either direction so I have another class BlockButtons which has my buttons for each direction.

I have a component mxml file in which i have a view stack, on click of a button i navigate to the first child, now i need to navigate to the second child during onclick of a button present in the second child. All the childs are component files included within the view stack. How could this be done, Sample code is present below,

I've seen some discussion on how to load a child swf using swfLoader and accessing it's variables but I am wondering if it is possible to do this without adding any code to the child swf.Either accessing public vars or listening for funciton calls would work fine

I have an Movie Clip in Flash that have subobject of button type which has subobject of input text and movie clips. Right after creation core Moveclip all subobject are set to null, when I expect them to be valid objects.

MC_Core_design was created in Flash and exported to Actionscript. I've done this for button_1 class aswell. The code was written using Flex. When I comment out both lines that result in error I get correct view of the core Movie clip with all subobject. How can I set subobject properties right after object creation?
a quick low down would be its a gallery on the second frame and I breaks when coming back tot he first frame, all tweens die and such.

I have an issue where removechild won't infact remove a child. I think its something to do with my dropTarget.parent issues. The concept of the code is that you drag a source onto a destination. When you drop the source onto the destination you will get a text field that says "Hello" or "Goodbye". The objective i want to achive is that once i drop a source onto the destination, removechild will remove any previouse textfields added. This is proving difficult.
I have created 2 sprites each containing a dynamic text field child. I then add this as a child of the stage. In the attached file I created swf that loads thumbnails from an xml file while animating, for the most part it seems to work fine however when I let the animation loop through enough times the file eventual gitches and I no longer see the file load the xml images. If

I have a parent swf with three buttons: next button, back button, ticker on/off button.I have three child swfs, each with a ticker mc. When I click on ticker button on parent swfit dispatches a custom event which brings ticker MC on stage and thus ticker becomes visible (ticker off button displaces it out of stage by changing the value of ticker_mc.y).
the problem I am facing is when ticker is on and I click next or back button to load next or previous child swf, the ticker goes off. How can I make sure that ticker is on all the time and closes only when I close it. How can a loaded child swf 1 communicate to next child swf, child swf 2, which is currently not loaded, that since the ticker is on on swf 1 so you please keep the ticker on on swf 2 as well?!
I think I know the problem. I have put a default value of ticker_mc = 160 (makes ticker inactive) on every child swf. So, the ticker becomes inactive everytime I load a new child swf. If someone could guide how can I do this, my problem will be solved: When first child swf is loaded, the default value of ticker_mc.y should be 160. I want to hold this value in a variable. When I click ticker active btn, position of ticker_mc changes to 194 so the value of variable should change to 194. When I click next btn, the variable value (160 or 194) should be sent to next child swf and ticker_mc.y should be equal to variable value.

I have a main movie (main.swf). I load child1.swf and child2.swf into it with URLLoader. Is there any way to make a button to child1.swf which would take a user to some frame in timeline of child2.swf?
Something like parent.child2.goToFrame(5);
I have tried different combinations without luck...
