View 1 RepliesI have some letters and would like to morph each one into a bubble - think clear floating bubbles and then have each one explode individually one by one. I tried breaking apart each letter and then doing a shape tween into a bubble shape. Then applying the Explode effect. It kind of works but when it's doing the shape tween there is some white space that looks weird during the transition depending on the letter being used such as "D." How to make this work more smoothly? I guess I could also just use a bubble type font but then that defeats the purpose of having each letter turn into a round bubble.

View 2 RepliesI am looking to explode an image backwards. Example, I have an image and at frame 1, Alpha is zero. At frame 20, the image is at Alpha 100%. From frame zero to 20, I want to have an exploded view come together by the time it reaches frame 20. I am reading this on web, and I don't have the 'Insert - timeline effects - explode' on my file menu. Is this a plugin that I have to install? This is the site I am reading. [URL]

ok when i say Tweener.addTween(arrayOfBitmaps[i]. the animation is just made from the last part o fthe array and not by the whole group.

I want a sound to play every time Code: Select all(explode) is triggered. I have had little success trying to attach audio when it happens, so i decided to make an empty 2 frame long movie clip, frame one has Code: Select allstop(); for obvious reasons, and frame 2 has no action but it has the sound "blast".

Is the code i'm using, i am getting no error reports but no sound is being played. What am i doing wrong? (the audio i want to play is named blast and has an export name of blast, the movie clip is named blastmc and has an export name of blastmc)
I'm working on writing a class that kind of creates a ribbon/snake effect. The class itself just needs to draw a box when initiated. I'm having trouble with some of the math though. I'm going to be passing in information into the initialized class, angle, speed, width, etc. When the instance is greated, the first two points are going to be the last two points of the box. Then I need to place a line at the angle passed in, and draw two more lines to that.

So I'm using PixelFume's Active Blur class to recreate the effect, though somewhat simpler so I rewrote some of it and it seem screwed up to me. I have it on the first frame of an .swf that gets loaded into and container clip in the main .swf via loadMovie. It does what I want it to do, but everytime you load the page it comes up slower and slower. If you click the button to load it like 15 times, it's pretty much 1fps.

View 2 RepliesI have a rollover and rollout effect in my for loop that affects all of the mcs in my array. But when I click on one of the mcs I want all of them to "explode" in all different directions. Obviously I would accomplish this by setting it up in my tween so that they all go in random directions. But I'm not exactly sure how to do it in my for loop. The way I have my onRelease function set up right now only makes the very last mc tween. How do I make my tween affect all of my mcs?

I'm creating a mask effect. i create 10 movieclip with a library class reference that appear on the screen with a random alpha effect. THe problem is that if i try the effect alone all works ok. if i mask the layer that contains the effect on an image i don't see the effect. i see directly the image masked with the boxes. i can't explain that because i've the effect first but it seems that when i test the movie the effect doesn't play and the boxes appear directly on the screen.

View 14 RepliesI really like the text effect Pom used in the footer contest, and would like to use the same grid-type method of creating mc letters but with a different effect. i understand how to change the parameters and shapes of the letters, but can't seem to figure out which piece of code is purely for the explosion effect. basically, i want the letters but with the 'Repel' effect from[URL] here is Pom's AS:

It's a bit of decoration to go behind a logo. When the dMove var is commented out I get the appropriate line of squares fading in and out at random spots along the x = 78 axis, but when introduced nothing appears at all...

I want to be able to make a movie clip (that acts as a button) so the roll over effect finishes before the roll off effect is triggered. Like if a marker circles a button, i want the circling animation to stop before the roll off effects happens. Anyone know how to do this.

Based on my knowledge of Photoshop and some... and by some I mean very VERY little Flash... I took it upon myself and another member of the community to create this.
All was going well until the member decided it wasn't his cup of tea. Basically, he didn't like that he couldn't do it well enough.
Ok, so I've installed Flash and tooled around with it for a bit, but I want to get going. I know this isn't the best place to post this thread - I know there are probably better places - but I just wanted to know where and what to begin with. I have the whole thing planned out in levels, layers, and motion...
I'm having some problems importing a class, the message that Flash gives me is this; The class being compiled, 'ImageLoader', does not match the class that was imported, '[URL]'. The only line of code in my flash movie is this: import com.martijndevisser.*; And yes, the class is in that folder The class is from here: [URL] I've used the class before and it works fine, I just dont know what to do?

I`m instancing a Character and a Player in the Main Timeline, all in frame 1.
When I use: ""player.attack(character)"" it works fine by itself.
So I added the if (defender._hp <= 0) this.win() which gives me the following error:
1061: Call to a possibly undefined method win through a reference with static type Character.
"defender" is a Character instance, "this" is a Player instance and "win()" is a Player method. I try to call the Player method inside a Character method using the Player instance adding the "." and his method name
Do I really need to define the win() function in the Character class? Is there a bypass to use a subclass method in a parent class method if it`s called from an instance of the subclass?
