View 1 RepliesI am looking to explode an image backwards. Example, I have an image and at frame 1, Alpha is zero. At frame 20, the image is at Alpha 100%. From frame zero to 20, I want to have an exploded view come together by the time it reaches frame 20. I am reading this on web, and I don't have the 'Insert - timeline effects - explode' on my file menu. Is this a plugin that I have to install? This is the site I am reading. [URL]

I have a movieClip on the stage called "home_btn" and another called "home".
When moving over the home_btn movieClip I want the timeline inside of home to play. I used the slice command to get rid of the _btn which works fine, which is proven by the trace command, but it doesn't seem to be able to enter the timeline of home.

I would like to make a mouse-over effect on an object. The mouse-over effect should work like this: when the mouse cursor is dragged over the object it should glow, but if the mouse cursor remains over the object it should still glow, but another mouse over effect should occur, showing an info box for the object. Until now I have just made the object as a button, and in the "over" box I have made the object glow, by defining it as a movie clip. However, this only works for the glow part. How do I add another mouse-over effect (which is delayed 1 sec) to the same object?
View 2 Replieshow to make an object appear on click from library. however it never appears where i want it to on stage. very frustrating. i go to change the x-y cordinates of the object in the library to match exactly with where i have an existing object on the stage but it doesnt seem to corelate with the scene? instead it is way off course.
secondly what is the code for clicking an object on the stage to show a masked or hidden layer? or something like that.

Okay, so i have a circle symbol and i want to have my text around the circle, do i have to adjust each letter seperately until i get them all in uniform or is there some way to "warp" the text as you can in photoshop?

[URL] I don't know flash at all but it seems like there would be a simple program (even if I have to pay) that allows me to import the images, set the rotation speed and other settings and then hit export to .flv file or something. View 3 RepliesI have 10 objects in 10 layers to make a single logo. I have created them using flash drawing objects. Now I would like each object to come one by one on stage using motion tween. How can I go further? Do I need to make each object a movie clip before set it motion tween? Or do I need to make a single movie with all 10 objects as combined? Please note that I need each object to come on stage one by one (not a whole logo on once). Please provide help or any example tutorial link.

ok when i say Tweener.addTween(arrayOfBitmaps[i]. the animation is just made from the last part o fthe array and not by the whole group.
I have some letters and would like to morph each one into a bubble - think clear floating bubbles and then have each one explode individually one by one. I tried breaking apart each letter and then doing a shape tween into a bubble shape. Then applying the Explode effect. It kind of works but when it's doing the shape tween there is some white space that looks weird during the transition depending on the letter being used such as "D." How to make this work more smoothly? I guess I could also just use a bubble type font but then that defeats the purpose of having each letter turn into a round bubble.

I have had little success trying to attach audio when it happens, so i decided to make an empty 2 frame long movie clip, frame one has Code: Select allstop(); for obvious reasons, and frame 2 has no action but it has the sound "blast".

Is the code i'm using, i am getting no error reports but no sound is being played. What am i doing wrong? (the audio i want to play is named blast and has an export name of blast, the movie clip is named blastmc and has an export name of blastmc)
is there a way to have (the postion of) objects be dependant of another one? I have attached a simple .fla file with two boxes (MovieClips) that grow in height. Since the position of the bottom box is constant, the top box soon expands "into" the one below so that parts of it are hidden. What I want is that the gap between those two objects stays constant (in this case 50px). So, is there any way to make the position of one object dependant on (the size of) another? Or is there any other "workaround"/tip you can give me?
View 18 RepliesI'm running macromedia flash mx, and I'm trying to make a linkable swf by following this procedure: I select the object and then convert it to symbol. Then I choose " button " Right click at the object---> actions ---->[+]--->browser/network ----> getURL. I type my url and choose 'self" target.
When I test movie the hand symbol appears at first, but when clicked it turns to arrow. Exactly the same happends when I appload the swf and of course there's no link ...
i have an evil memory leak that i would like to fix. at the end of the game a bunch of sprites "explode" and fly around. once they leave the stage, i stop their enterframe loop and remove them like so:

I have a rollover and rollout effect in my for loop that affects all of the mcs in my array. But when I click on one of the mcs I want all of them to "explode" in all different directions. Obviously I would accomplish this by setting it up in my tween so that they all go in random directions. But I'm not exactly sure how to do it in my for loop. The way I have my onRelease function set up right now only makes the very last mc tween. How do I make my tween affect all of my mcs?

I am currently trying to create an app using flash AIR.I would like to find some more information on how to make an object snap to another ojbect then follow its path, eg. a person object is already on the stage, then drag an arrow to the object which snaps to it, then on play button it follows the arrow path. all in pure actionscript, no guide layers.

How can i get this man to grab onto an object and spin around it (like when you grab pole and letting your momentum swing you around) . I can make him grab the object but I dont know how to modify his x,y speeds to simulate the arc.

For example, when I have a square (mc_Square) with class "square" attached to it and I want it to trace "Colliding!" and print the X and Y of the mc_Box on contact with an on-stage *hollow* box (mc_Box) that has no class attached to it.how to do it vice-versa would also be awesome .
2. How can I make a class object interact with the same class object? For example, when I have two squares (mc_Square) that both have the class "square" attached to it and when they collide, it prints the X and Y of both of them.
3. How can I make a class object interact with a different class object?
For example, when I have two squares mc_Square1 with class "square1 (that also has a variable Primary=true written in it)" and a mc_Square2 with class "square2"; When they collide, the one with Primary=true would be removed and it's X,Y position traced.

I'm having some troubles with the use of interface and inheritance in AS3. I've done lots of OOP in the past and what I'm trying to do seems obvious to me, but doesn't work in AS3. The question is : Is it possible to override a function that return an Object of class A, and make it return an Object of Class B which extends A ? I am a learner. I am using one object which animates from a corner and comes to the middle of the stage (Using Motion Tween for animation). What I need is when it comes to the middle of the stage it should disappear from the stage. How it is possible?
