I have a movie clip with text and buttons in it linked to a scrollpane.The movie clip shows up just fine in the scrollpane, but the buttons won't work when clicked.If button script is in the main timeline, an error message says the buttons are an undefined property.If button code is in the movie clip timeline, there's no error code but the buttons simply don't work.

I just want a scrollpane with thumbnails. When you click on the thumbnails a larger version loads right above. Anyone know how to do this? I have been scouring the internet trying to find an answer with no luck.

Is that possible? I can get the buttons on the first frame of the MC to work, but I can't seem to figure out how to target/make the buttons on the other frames work? I made a custom button-class (called CustomBlitButton) where a button is defined. The roll over-states of the button are defined inside of the class CustomScreen. That's because a custom screen holds one or more buttons. I can create a button when using the createButton-function of the CustomScreen-class.
So if I want to make a screen with a menu, i.e. several buttons I do this like that (this is just an excerpt):

I have buttons inside/on window01/mc that are still active/clickable when the opacity is 0, I basically have a area on my website that if you click it opens the window corresponding to the button. how do I stop this? I only want the buttons to work when window01 is opacity 100.

just click in the blank black area below the nav bar and the window will appear. The normal way to get to this window is click products than the buttons.

I have a container mc called lightBoxCont that I load a class into

when the user clicks on a thumbnail the user can close the lightbox by clicking on a button like this

This all works (or seems to). If the user then clicks on another thumbnail the light box appears again, but the buttons don't work. These were added in the class lightbox.
Interestingly if I trace teh number of children that lbx has I find that each time the user presses on a thumbnail it goes up. First time its about 30, next time its about 60, next time its 90 and so on.I think this is causing the problem with the buttons not working.
I am trying to make an index page with buttons for a photography site.the entire page is built in flash so far. I have created a drop down menu that is a Movieclip with 5 buttons.I can not seem to assign an external web page to each buttons that are under the movie clip drop down menu. Is this a possible? The Movie clip is run by mouse-over the word "studio Gallery" button. This drops down the 5 gallerbuttons (Portrait, children, wedding, Artistic Babies, etc...). In Flash 8 Pro I know I can assign an external web page named children on the main page but how do I assign these to the buttons in the drop down once the movieclip is made. Is this where I need to use folders with extra layers in the folder to make it work?

When I add the stop code to frame one to stop the timeline on my homepage, the buttons Ive set up in my navigation bar do not work. But, if I do not have the stop code in the timeline, the buttons will work correctly. Without the stop code, though, obviously the whole timeline plays through and doesn't stop on the homepage, which is not desirable. So how do I stop the timeline on the homepage and still have my buttons work?

In AS2, how can I get a roll over listner in a MC inside a scroll pane to display a MC tool tip on the stage outside of the scroll pane? I am using the following code in the main time line to display the tool tip and it dosn't seem to be working:

I'm creating one sprite named 'holder' and I'm adding childs to it. finally I use sp.source = "holder"; NOTE: scrollPane is in stage, having instance name = sp, holder is AS created.
this works very good, but I need to on button press refresh data on holder. So I want to complete remove holder, so my function can recreate it with new elements and then define scrollPane.source = "holder";
How can I do this?

I have a scollpane loaded and I have buttons in the content( a map) thats loaded in the scrollpane. The buttons work fine until I try to turn on scrolldrag. So my question: Is there any way to use scrolldrag in a scrollpane when there are buttons in the content? Or are we stuck with the scroll bars? I saw one movie that was done in action script 1 using a scrollpane, with buttons and scrolldrag and the buttons worked.

The XML file will finally contain just the name(s) of such predesigned buttons (symbols) in the name attribute and the destination link will be in the goto attribute.

I've been working on a website for months and I'm so near the end, but I just need to rectify one problem (and judging by my google searches for the past two days, it seems to be quite a common problem). I'm pretty much a novice/beginner when it comes to actionscript and need some help to figure this out.I have a movie clip (called 'CLvertlist_mc') which is simply some text and buttons. This movie clip has been placed inside a scrollpane, which sits inside another movie clip ('Client list 2'). Also sitting inside 'Client list 2' is a third movie clip called 'clientlist_mc', which has a few different labelled frames in it.Now, I want to get the buttons in 'CLvertlist_mc' to link to the labelled frames in 'clientlist_mc'.
