I am having 2 separate container and each container has one separate movie clip.If i select those two container using mouse drag then the two container should convert as single one.

I am developing a paint board application using flash builder. User can draw some shapes objects(ellipse, circle, rectangle). I want to implement grouping/un grouping feature some like ms-word in my application. I group multiple objects by putting them inside a container(UIComponent). Now i apply resizing to container and it resize well. I am using a free object handler API to apply selection handle over the container. I want to resize and reposition all children with respect to container changed size. Every thing goes well until all children inside container are having rotation = 0. But if there is any child which is having rotation >0 and <0 things goes worse. The child resize but not in a proper manner. I stretch the parent container width and it increase the height of rotated child. Is there any way using Matrix class or something else to transform all children in same direction and same ratio respective to container?
View 1 RepliesIn a Flex Mobile project I have a simple itemRenderer where I'm trying to create an "bubble" texting effect, similar to ichat or iphone (just so you get what im going for). But if the text is longer than the screen it runs off, rather than just going down a line.
If I set Group thats holding the rectangle(to create the bubble effect) and the label to 100% it works and keeps it from exceeding the list containers bounds, BUT the group is always at 100% and looks bad, I'm trying to keep the "bubble" JUST AROUND the text.
Anyway so, at the top of my itemRenderer I tried specifying:

And here's my layout I figured since msg_container has a width of 100% I was hoping bubble_lable_group would just not exceed that but...it doesnt...it just runs off. I tried setting a max width but that does not allow you to input percents. And just to say it 1 more time. I know if i set bubble_lable_group width to 100% it works, and keeps it from going off the edge, but then the rectangle "bubble" stretches all the way across and just looks bad.

I am facing a issue in Flash container. I am having a project which has main container which call different SWFs into it. Now I call this main container file into another container, and their problem starts. Many option doesn't work properly which generally have _root, _parent etc...
If I want to run project (main container SWF and child SWFs) into another container file which place on a website. I want to show whole project from this container file so what I need to do?
I have a loop that goes through data from a book and displays it. The book is not consistent in it's layout so I am trying to display it in two different ways. First way(works fine) is to load the text from that section in to a panel and display it. The second way is to create a new panel (panel creates fine) and then add collapsable panels(nested) to that panel. Here is the code from the else loop.

I am creating an flex Air project,so mxml file will run. I have circles in one Big circle at one side and will be same on other side.
Now how to drag any circle from any Big circle to other side. Or it could be like any two container having circles, then how to drag and drop circle?
For one circle i am able to do drag and drop.But I want one Big circle on left hand side and one big circle on right hand side .And small circles with class names will be in these big circles.Now i want to drag and drop those small circles in big circles.Big cicles should not move. I need to place an image into a container. The problem is that I will not know the size of the image or the container beforehand, so it all has to be dynamic.this is how I started (have not gotten to stage(or container) changing size yet. No matter what I try, either all the images are the same width, or they are all the same height. If some images are portrait and other landscape, I don't want all the images to be X pixels high. In this variation of the code, all the images turn out the same height, regardless of portrait or landscape.

I have the VDivided box set up so the user can drag it to make one of the documents bigger or smaller.Is there a way to get the look of a VDivided box & the functionality of an Accordian, so that when the user clicks the VDivided box (or double clicks, I haven't decided) one of the documents will be hidden? (For instance, double clicking on the right-most side of the divider will hide the left document, and vice-versa)

What is the best way to merge two alpha channels? What I want to do is, given channel values, use the value which is greater.
I tried using .merge(), but it appears to only blend channels with a linear value between current and destination value.
I looked into .draw(), which would work well using a blendmode like LIGHTEN, but it doesn't allow drawing per channel so I can't target the alpha channel only. The ALPHA blendmode didn't seem to do anything when used with .draw(), and ERASE gives an unwanted hard edge.
I also looked into .copyChannel(), but it doesn't allow any blending logic, merely copying a rectangular region from one BitmapData to another.
I keep battling the slideshow, and now I have some other doubts. I tried to find the answer to this on other threads on this forum, but couldnïż½t find anything. So, here it goes:I now have a photo slideshow where one photo fades out, and the next one follows, fading in.Between the fade out and fade in, there is a short interval of white, the background of the flash animation. I have to replace this white interval, with the fadeout of the previous image, so that the first and the next image sort of merge. How can I do this?lso, on the very last image of the presentation, there is a jump back to the first image, without the fadeout. I'm working to create an interactive snow globe in AS3. The user would have a choice of dropping several items into the globe - a house, a candy cane, a fir tree, etc. - and, when done, hit a shake button. The globe and items would shake together, then the snow would appear.I've got the drag and drop and snow functionality (using Flint particles). However, I'm not sure how to get the globe and the items to move together once the user hits play.[code]I'm at a loss as to how to get them both to work together. A DisplayObject, perhaps?

I am developing an Flash application, that is going to interact with a facebook application. It is supposed to get text and image from the facebook application and merge in an swf for the facebook Surfers. I wanted to ask what is best way to accomplish this?
1. Ask for the FaceBook app to save the Image and text in an SQL DB, for a webservice to pick?
2. Drop it in the root of application and pick it with a web service?
3. Send directly to the webservice?
I have two FLA files, call them MAP.fla and ANI.fla, that I have to merge. One way I tried was to load the ANI.swf in MAP.swf during runtime using the normal way of doing it, using Loader and URLRequest. However, when I try to run it, flash detects errors about methods I have included in ANI.swf.
I do know that the Loader and URLRequest method of doing it works because I tried using it with a different SWF file with simpler content.
P.S. ANI.swf contains methods, instances with classes of their own and timer events. If Loader cannot work on my SWF, is there any other way of carefully doing this without affecing my FLAs?
