ActionScript 3.0 :: Motion Alternates - Select Between Two Motions Given Certain Conditions

I defined 2 different motions for an object in Flash, saved them as Presets and then copied each as Actionscript 3.0 and pasted them seperately into a code frame 2 on my timeline. I was thinking that with Actionscript I should be able to select between two motions given certain conditions. Here's what I got:

There was a flash motion already defined for the digitB1_mc. The trace statement fired showing this code was executed. But the default flash motion executed, not this one. I know that at previous times, I have fooled around and got similar code to work. But why not this? It's like it ignores this motion altogether. Note also: When I remove the default Flash motion and run the test, digitB1_mc does NOT move at all, again ignoring this code(which the trace stmt says is executing).

Grouping Causes Motions To Shift?

I have a simple movie of a person - torso, arms, legs, each on a separate layer.  I'm adding a walk cycle and use tweens to move the arms and legs.  This works fine when I export to an swf.  But when I group and try to export to a movieclip, the arms jump way up.  This seems like a simple problem of adjusting coordinates, origins, etc.  But I'm kind of a newbie, so does someone have a suggestion for me?  How do I export to a movieclip and have it playback the same as when exporting to a swf?

"How many motion tweens can you have on a timeline."  Yup.  The answer is one...... or is it?  I had a long discussion with my tutor (who is the greatest tutor in the world) and he wanted to think about it. I said to him that I thought that one motion tween was wrong because you can click on an object in the timeline, make it a motion tween, and double click it and make several motion tweens.  So, essentially, you can have more than one motion tween on a timeline.

I am doing a presentation demonstrating hardware components. For that I have used frame by frame animation for showing components. The explanation for these components are done as subtitle scrolling. It is created using actionscript 3 motion. The particular subtitle text will be generated according to the currentFrame. When I pause the entire movie i need to pause the scrolling text that i created using action script. I was searching for a week , how to do this. Is there event to identify whether main movie is stopped or paused. Or any other way to do this. The child movies and sound i added in time line should be paused while pausing the movie....

Im doing a project that works with lots of tweens im having always the same problem when i call Tweens to execute in the same frame..The Tween most of the times freez before this motion end.I fixed the tween for the background... but for that i had to put the tween in another frame and call that frame from my home Frame..Now im trying to do some Tweens with some buttons, but it most of the time freez before the motion ends.Should i forget to use Tweens in the same frames?

Horizontal Banner Repeat Without White Stage Showing Inbetween Motions?

Using Flash CS4 trial I am trying to make a banner on one time line.I have 6 photos on one time line with a right to left motion tween, and I would like it to repeat it  without the white space of the stage appearing inbetween instances.I have tried it with two time lines also, but to no avail.Basically I would like it to repeat picture 1 again from the right side of the stage directly after picture 6 has left the left hand side of the stage without white space.
 
Also have problems selecting the bez curve, to drag a motion, so far I find if I create a key frame at the end of the timeline and click a couple of times on the mouse (not consistant) then hold the left mouse button down for a few seconds it some times turns the white circle green, then I can move it? but as I said not very consistant.

But in Flex 4 the dropdownfactory doesnt exist.

Flash - How Does Google Video Allow For Slow Motion And Fast Motion

I have been searching far and wide for a solution on how to offer slow motion and fast motion options for users that upload video to my webstie. There is an implementation on Google Video that has exactly what I am looking for: the option to speed up or slow down the video and continue to play the audio. The screenshot is below. I know that Flowplayer has an option to slow down or speed up video when implemented with Wowza server. However, when using that approach, there is no sound.

I have also seen the option from Enounce called MySpeed that allows video to be slowed or quickened, but this requires a browser plugin which is too much of a barrier for our users. How does Google do it? How can you add an option to a flash player to slow down or speed up video?Here is a screen shot. You can see the option to change the speed of the video to 1.5x. It also has options to go to 0.5x, 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x, 2.0x, 2.5x, and 3.0x.

I would like to create a polygon that changes its shape (circle, trapezium, square, rectangle, triangle) based on specific buttons that the user clicks? An existing shape has to be able to morph into all the others. For instance, the trapezium has to morph to a square, circle, rectangle or triangle.

If I were to create each transition manually, I would end up with 5x4=20 scenes. Is there a way that I can just assign each shape to its own frame, and deploy actionscript to set in motion the transitions from one frame to the 4 other possible frames? I am very grateful to anyone to just point me in the right direction,

To achieve next: mc3 is visible only when mc1 and mc2 are visible else its hidden, but this dont work, with this script on load all clips are visible on stage mc1, mc2, mc3, inspite there is a script which is hiding mc1, and mc2...(they should appear on stage on mouse event and this was ok before a inserted script from beginning of post, now they are always visible). How should I write this to make mc3 visible only when mc1 and mc2 are both visible on stage.

Is there a way to have more conditions in an "if" statement? For example I have 3 conditions:

condition 1: a=5
condition 2: b=3
condition 3: c=12

I used a tutorial to attempt to set up my code so that after a button is released and an external .swf is loaded the same button can't be activated again (on release or on rollover) until a different button is released.

I've got a function which is constantly running to see if a set of movie clips (ball0_mc, ball1_mc etc.) have been placed in a target zone.  Once the ballPlaced[#] value is true for a partiuclar moive clip, the movie clip starts acting in different ways depending on which other balls have been placed in a target zone (i.e. their ballPlaced[#] value is also true).

The 'if' and 'else if' conditional statements are contained within the playVideo() function which is constantly running through the ENTER_FRAME event. [code]...

Depending on the time of day (user machine time) and the amount of money raised the header needs to show different scenes and building construction progress.1. Is there some example script out there that would conditionally call on 1 of 4 times of the day (morning, noon, late afternoon or overnight) for me?2. And the % of the funds raised (variable data passed from the site?) will reveal that equivalent portion of the building constructed. So if 25% of the funds are in then 1/4 of the building will be shown completed. Is there an example script that would receive that data from an external source and then call 1 of 4 pre-built building movie clips?

I have some code that needs to read like the following:IF the original position(origX) DOES NOT EQUAL where my object is(this._x) AND delay variable(delay) is set to 0, then I need to display a movieclip. There is an X on the movieclip so users can close it, and when they click the X, the delay variable is set back to 1, so the movieclip won't keep loading.

I'm having a strange problem w/ race conditions when using attachmovie. I have a class linked to a movie clip that I'm attaching to the stage. The class is fired off when the movie clip is attached but also other classes are getting loaded at the same time while the movie clips is attached. Even though the other classes are called after the movieclip is attached, they are getting loaded faster and therefor the class linked to the attached movie clip cannot access their functions. I'm looking for a listener that will fire off an event ONLY when the attached movieclip is fully loaded but I can't seem to find any examples of associating a listener to a attachmovie method.

I don't want to say if (a && b && c && d, etc. is true). Is it possible to have an if statement with an "or" in the condition? If so, what's the proper syntax for that?

I have made a scrolling gallery with an area described by a variable called 'thumbVar' which excludes the area above and below the scrolling thumbnails from activating the scroll left or right (excluding the area above and below the thumbnails).

Could someone have a look and at the code and see why the 'thumbVar=true' does not work? Is it because I cannot us two parameters within the variable? The strange thing is that the swf does behave properly when first loaded until the cursor moves out of the thumbnail mc. i.e. at first it works, then stops when moving off the thumbnail mc.
