Apr 23, 2009i need to play two FLVs continuously one after the other - you might think it's an easy task, but every time i try to do that there is this annoying gap between the videos that flickers, and it's have to be seamless.the ON_COMPLETE event worked poorly, so im sampling the playheadTime of the first FLV and test it for it's end, minus a certain offset value.. but the lag is still there.i ever rewrote the FLVPlayback component to my own NetStream object extending, hoping it will take less run-time memory consuming but noting...and the thing is,the lag sometimes happens, and sometimes don't..when trying to sample the gap it brings me different values every time, but there is no way to correct it,because changing the playheadTime causing a random, few milliseconds lag itself, and we are back to square one..

My problem is that I want those movieclips to continuously play even without doing a mouse rollover. Jun 22, 2003I have 2 sounds that i would like to play. Sound 1 and sound 2. I want to make sound 1 to play only once and after it stops i want to make sound2 to play continuously. You know what I mean? I have 2 different sounds, lets just say sound 1 says blah blah blah and blah and after it stops I want to play sound 2. My sound 1 is longer then sound 2 so I need to make sure that sound 1 finishes playing and after it stops then to make sound 2 to play.

May 4, 2009code that will load and play a folder of flv's continuously?I have a folder of short clips i converted to flv. When one clip finishes, i want the next clip to play and to endlessly loop through the flvs, never stopping. If there's a way to include a transition, that'd be cool too, but not important. I've got the first clip loading, but can't get the next to play.

Sep 11, 2011I am loading mp3's externally as to not bloat the swf. However, only 1 out of 3 songs play (2nd song plays) for this jukebox I'm having to create for an assignment. I would think if one song played, they all would. I've checked the AS2 code and it all seems right to me; the song names and button instance names. I sure could use some insight as to why the 1st and 3rd song doesn't play. My jukebox is at: [URL] and here is my simple code in the first Actions frame. This is the only code I used for the jukebox.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Splash Skip Intro Button Should Play Continuously
Jun 1, 2008I'm a beginner level student. My project is to create a Splash Intro and a 4 page Website (Home page and 4 internal pages). I have to use Flash (no HTML, Java, CSS, etc). We are using Flash CS3 with Action Script 3. The Splash Intro should play continuously. This part I have working like a charm. However, the project requires a Skip Intro button. I have made the Skip intro button and gave the "instance" a name. The next part is where I'm stuck. I want to be able to click on the Skip Intro button and go to the first page of my "Website." I have all of my pages on one timeline. No movie clips. This is very basic.
My Home page has some animation on it. My name comes in from the left and three buttons come in from the right. When the user clicks on the Skip Intro button, I want it to go to the Home page, play the brief animation and STOP. I don't want the Skip Intro button to just go to frame 40 (for example) and just stop. And, if it goes to frame (50) for example and stops the user will miss the animation (right?). ActionScript 1/2 :: Play Song Using External Text File?
Sep 1, 2006I have this text file text.txt and it has a variable in it named song1 with the url of a song file. In flash, I set up this actionscript:

the problem is that I get an UNDEFINED message for the variable song1. But, if I put it in for the variable of dynamic text, the text will show up in the exported flash. I suspect it has something to do with where the variable is being exported to.

ActionScript 3.0 :: Having A Song Play When User Hover Over My Button?
Nov 25, 2010I am creating a project and I want the user when they hover over my button to have a song play, when the user leaves the over state, the song stops, I can't seem to get it to work. Here is what I am doing, I have my button, inside the button on the over state I nest a Movie Clip, inside of that I bring in the song, in the properties I set it to "Start" and "Repeat x 0".
When I load the SWF it automatically plays.I've tried adding some AS3 to it but I can't seem to get it to work. like "stop();" which did nothing.I did some googling and found "SoundMixer.stopAll();" which does stop the song from loading on start.

I am stuck at the part where you can pause the sound, and then play it in the same place. I have tried many things such as using the timer utilities. Right now, when I pause it, it stops, and when I press play, it plays from the beginning.

Aug 19, 2009I have a list of mp3-songs, when song 1 is clicked it gets streamed, a stop-button appears, if this Btn is clicked, this Btn disappears as it should - but if user forgets to click for stopping sound and clicks song 2, stopBtn 1 remains and the new stopBtn 2 also appears. there should be only one stopBtn, the one next to the song is playing.
I would like to move the stopBtn and I have tried several approaches move; graphics.moveTo; if(stopButton !=null) {removeChild (stopButton)}; I packed the var stopButton:Sprite in the header and so on.

Apr 28, 2009I am making flash CS4-based music player with ActionScript 3. When I host the player on my site, e.g. [URL], and play an mp3 on the server of my site, e.g.[URL], it works well.
When I link to an mp3 of another site, e.g. [URL], in my local machine, it also works. However, when I host the music player in my site [URL], and play an mp3 of [URL], then it can't be played.

Feb 15, 2010I am writing a mp3 player and having some issue getting the song length before the entire song has been loaded - which messes with my position indicator, as it needs to know the track length. I thought I could get the length from an ID3 tag, problem is ID3.TLEN returns undefined, though if I right click the track and show properties, the summary tab shows song duration, bitrate, etc... how I can retrieve the song length before the entire thing has been downloaded?
