ActionScript 3.0 :: How To Make Flash Continuously Play
Jun 22, 2010
I have a countdown timer and a click counter and I don't want for either of those to reset if the page were closed / refreshed. What I want is that once the timer and click counter start, nothing will interupt them. But the problem is that if i simply go to another page and back it resets everything. Here is my code...
I played around quite a bit and came up with exactly the effect I was looking for. Basically a movie clip with floating icons that come in and out of the stage. All was done in actionScript 3.0 and Code Snippets. There is no timeline per se, using the classic timeline view it is only one keyframe, the animation lasts for about 45 seconds.
I want the animation to loop continueously. Even in the HTML output I did click Loop Cont. under Publish settings. That does not work either.
In my original thread my answer was given and I only needed to take the information and tweak it to make it apply throughout other instances in the code.This is marked as answered. The way I constructed the code heBecause each Movie Clip is individually handled, I was explained by Ned Murphy on this forum that I need to insert code for each individual clip to send it back to start when it comes off the stage because it is structured to go to infinity with the movie symbols continuing on their path.I get that. ittle code to add was provided for an example clip that started at the top of the stage and went down, then when it goes off the stage, go back. In this case it was for MovieClip_1 (Out of 15) The red was the additional code (Provided by Ned Murphy who is IMHO a Guru here) that was added :
i need to play two FLVs continuously one after the other - you might think it's an easy task, but every time i try to do that there is this annoying gap between the videos that flickers, and it's have to be seamless.the ON_COMPLETE event worked poorly, so im sampling the playheadTime of the first FLV and test it for it's end, minus a certain offset value.. but the lag is still there.i ever rewrote the FLVPlayback component to my own NetStream object extending, hoping it will take less run-time memory consuming but noting...and the thing is,the lag sometimes happens, and sometimes don't..when trying to sample the gap it brings me different values every time, but there is no way to correct it,because changing the playheadTime causing a random, few milliseconds lag itself, and we are back to square one..
I would like to have it added with controls and play while the user is browsing the site. I don't want it to start playing automatically I want the user to be aware there is a song for them to listen to. I don't have any images for buttons.
I have a few flvs made from After Effects that are now movieclip symbols that I have to use as buttons. My problem is that I want those movieclips to continuously play even without doing a mouse rollover. Then, when it's rollover, rollout, or click time, another animation will play within the movieclips that I'm going to use as a button.
I am playing a background on my webpage by using miniswfloopplayer, now I want the music to play continuously throughout the website, currently the music starts all over again when a page loads which is quite obvious. I am looking for a approach where I can avoid the above situation.
I have 2 sounds that i would like to play. Sound 1 and sound 2. I want to make sound 1 to play only once and after it stops i want to make sound2 to play continuously. You know what I mean? I have 2 different sounds, lets just say sound 1 says blah blah blah and blah and after it stops I want to play sound 2. My sound 1 is longer then sound 2 so I need to make sure that sound 1 finishes playing and after it stops then to make sound 2 to play.
How can I play flv files continuously..?? I have developed code for playing flv files in my browser. Those flv files are streaming from flash media server. I can play files individually, but I want to add one button to play multiple flv file continuously when one button clicked. How can I play those multiple flv files continuously...??
code that will load and play a folder of flv's continuously?I have a folder of short clips i converted to flv. When one clip finishes, i want the next clip to play and to endlessly loop through the flvs, never stopping. If there's a way to include a transition, that'd be cool too, but not important. I've got the first clip loading, but can't get the next to play.
Code: var video:Video = new Video(); addChild(video);
I am a newbie at flash so this might be a trivial problem for the experts. I have a flash banner I wish to remove the replay link and display the flash continuously. Preview link: [URL] Src Link: [URL]
I'm a beginner level student. My project is to create a Splash Intro and a 4 page Website (Home page and 4 internal pages). I have to use Flash (no HTML, Java, CSS, etc). We are using Flash CS3 with Action Script 3. The Splash Intro should play continuously. This part I have working like a charm. However, the project requires a Skip Intro button. I have made the Skip intro button and gave the "instance" a name. The next part is where I'm stuck. I want to be able to click on the Skip Intro button and go to the first page of my "Website." I have all of my pages on one timeline. No movie clips. This is very basic.
My Home page has some animation on it. My name comes in from the left and three buttons come in from the right. When the user clicks on the Skip Intro button, I want it to go to the Home page, play the brief animation and STOP. I don't want the Skip Intro button to just go to frame 40 (for example) and just stop. And, if it goes to frame (50) for example and stops the user will miss the animation (right?). Here is what I have but it doesn't work:
I want to make a banner loader. Basically its a swf that must load other swfs continuously, looping. Ive tried 2 things this far, and none of them seemed to work. 1st try: on my banner1.swf I used the onComplete parameter of Caurina package. So, when the animation should end, I simply made a method stating something like this:
I am working on a Flash Banner for a website I am working on. I'm using the Greensock Tweenlite package.Basically a bunch of products slide into the screen or fade in every 5 seconds, however once all the products are shown, the SWF ends and goes blank, I want it to restart and go on continuously.
I am new to CS5 and i'm wondering how to make a flash banner play only once for the visitor. My home page has a search engine and every time the search the result will display with the banner playing again. this is the same for navigating through pages. I want the banner to stay on the last frame. its not looping, its just replaying everytime i navigate.
the Flash Virtual Machine relies on garbage collection by using reference counting and mark and sweep (for good coverage of these topics, check out Grant Skinner's article and presentation). And yes, Flash also provides the "delete" operator, which can (unfortunately only) be used to remove the properties of dynamic objects.
What I want to know is how to make it so that Flash programs don't continue to consume CPU and memory while running in the background (save loading content or communicating remotely, for example). The motivation for this question comes in part from Apple's ban on cross compiled applications (in its SDK 4) on the grounds that they do not behave as predicted with the multitasking feature central to iPhone OS 4. My intention is not only to make Flash programs that will 'pass muster' as far as multitasking in iPhone OS 4, but also to simply make better (behaving) Flash programs.
Put another way, how might a Flash application mimic the multitasking feature of iPhone OS 4? Does the Flash API provide the means for a developer to put their applications to 'sleep' while other programs run, and then to 'awaken' them just as quickly?
In our own program, we might do something as crude as detecting when the user has been idle (no mouse motion or key press) for (say) four seconds:
var idle_id:uint = setInterval(4000, pause_program); var current_movie_clip:MovieClip; var current_frame:uint;
[code]....
what's the best way to detect that an application should be shelved? And, more importantly, is it possible for Flash Player to detect that some of its running programs are idle, and to similarly shelve them until the user performs an action to resume them?
I am attempting to animate in the timeline, and then "copy motion as as3" so that I can reuse the animation. The problem is that when I take the AS and put it into a class, it only wants to run 1 frame, and does not continue the animation.[code]...
i have encoded(converted) some video files through Adobe Media Encoder to f4v. and i play them inside flash, through a flvlplayback component.I've placed the videos inside the same folder as my swf file.is there anyway i can protect the videos to be shown only inside my swf file?via the cue points and actionscript or something??something like a code to be placed at the begining of the clip, and be checked inside my swf file (while loading the video, into the playback component). if the condition was confirmed, the video plays.so that the video files don't play with other players outside my swf file..
I got a swf logo that I want to play once per session. Preferably I want it to play once every time someone opens or closes the tab/browser but not while the user navigates the site..
I'm using:
mySharedObject = SharedObject.getLocal("savedObject"); _root.onLoad = function() { if (mySharedObject.data.visited) {
[Code].....
At the moment but it seems to randomly jump between frames even tho I have it set to the last frame of my animation..Also it doesn't play when I close my browser and open it again.. It seems never to play for me even if I clear my cookies.
I am designing a very long page. There will be a flash animation at the bottom of the pageI want this animation to play only when the user scrolls down and this flash object comes into view. How do I do this? I am quite familiar with flash and actionscript, so I just need some pointers.I have seen that this is already being used for advertisements. If you visitthere are ads that appear far below on the page. These ads play only when you scroll down and the ad appears within the browser window. This happens on many other sites as well.Many popular sites also use something like this. On CNN, try opening a new tab that loads a flash video. The video begins to play only when you actually go to that tab. Until you open the tab and the contents become visible in your browser window, the video doesn't start. How is this done?
I have a Flash Movie where I need to play a video. I have this video on a folder on the web server.How can I make the video play inside the Flash Movie?I want it to start playing not when the Flash Movie is loaded but then an image inside the Flash Movie is clicked.
is it possible for flash to detect off-stage mouse coordinates in order to continuously drag an object within its bounds while the mouse is moving outside of the stage? for example: i have a draggable red square on my stage. the stage is the bounds of the drag. if i drag the red square to the bottom of the stage and continue to drag outside of and around the stage, i'd like the red square to continue moving within it's bounds, following the mouse coordinates. currently, dragging halts as soon as i leave the stage and the red square only begins to move with the mouse coordinates if i reenter the stage bounds.
I have a movieclip within the "over" section of my button, which contains both an roll over and a roll out animation. My problem is that I cant seem to get flash to play the rollOut animation.
I placed the following code in the button itself
on (rollOut) { this.start_mc.gotoAndPlay("mouseOut");}
I tried setting up a function to find when the user rolls off the button but it didn't work either.
Adobe Flash Builder: How to make a function to play video starting from one second and ending in another? So I havein MXML simple video player tag. I need some function to play that video from second X to second Y and pause it. How to do such thing?BTW: we asume file is embeded into SWF.
