ActionScript 2.0 :: Make A Flash Animation Play Once Per Session?

I got a swf logo that I want to play once per session. Preferably I want it to play once every time someone opens or closes the tab/browser but not while the user navigates the site..
I'm using:

At the moment but it seems to randomly jump between frames even tho I have it set to the last frame of my animation..Also it doesn't play when I close my browser and open it again.. It seems never to play for me even if I clear my cookies.

I am designing a very long page. There will be a flash animation at the bottom of the pageI want this animation to play only when the user scrolls down and this flash object comes into view. The video begins to play only when you actually go to that tab. Until you open the tab and the contents become visible in your browser window, the video doesn't start. How is this done?

I have a flash logo on my website but I don't want it to play every page load.I'm a total newbie in actionscript but I've gone as far as I have with the logo by googling and asking questions. I hope someone can please tell me how to do this one last thing I need on my logo since I can't find it anywhere! :)I'm using AS2 but I guess I can use 3 as well.

New here with emphasis on noob. I have started doodling with flash back in CS but increasingly been having a blast since I installed CS5. In all that time I have avoided Ascript like the plague. Now I find myself wanting to do things that require it. I have spent days searching the internet and this forum for a simple way to stop an swf from playing more than once per session in a format that I can understand. Everything seems to be old posts or if I find something I can't get it to work. Remember, you guys are waaay ahead of me on script. I vaguely understand the concept of sharedObject (as a result from my search) and cookies. I'm just having trouble with putting the whole thing together to make it work.
I would think this would be a great function for adobe to include in the code snippets window. I sure they have their reasons if its not. If it is however just tell me where it is and I'll go on avoiding actionScript

now I just started with Flash and have ran into an issue. I made a little animation (motion tween I think) and then made a button which is supposed to start the animation (play it).
My script so far:
stop() ;
knappEnter.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, starteAnimasjon);
function
(knappEnter is the instance name of the button, starteAnimasjon means startAnimation in norwegian, sorry for that, name of the animation is figur)
So basically I've managed to make the animation stop which is what I wanted, then made the button work, but now I need the last command so the button makes the animation play! I've been looking around for a while, but I just don't know how to do it

I have a button with a movie clip animation in it, and I finally have it all working just how I want, but one thing.it always plays the animation when I first open it and test it in a browser and the flash player.The button scales out an image to a larger image when you hover over it so when I open it in a browser/flash player the larger scaled out animation plays down to its original size.how can I can make my button not play the animation when its first opened in a browser?

I want to play a movie (simple fade in text on top of a photo background) in a banner on my home page one time when the user first displays the home page. After that I'd like to have the end result of the movie (last frame) remain static for the remainder of the user's session, regardless of which pages they refresh. The only way I can see to do this within the web site configuration is to embed the swf on a main page, then display the contents of all the other pages in an iframe on that page. However, I would prefer not to rewrite the entire site to use iframes.
I looked briefly at using a flash shared object and checking a variable in the swf onLoad event. But (I think) that requires the movie to be loaded to read the variable and hence the banner wouldn't show the text in the first frame. I could then jump to the last frame but it seems the banner would "flash" (sorry for the pun) from having no text at the start of the movie to displaying the text at the end every time a page is refreshed.
I'm not sure if I can do what I want without using Action Script or if I need to control the whole process within the html on the page containing the embedded swf.

I have a certain set of motion twains that I've successfuly completed, they constantly loop right now (default), and is saved in the SWF file.I'd like to take that finished looping animation, and insert it within another animation (a) that can be played with a play button, and stopped/resetted with a stop button.How do I insert the completed looping animation into the main animation? And is there something special I have to do in the actionscript of the start and stop buttons so that the "inner" looping animation will start and stop with the "outer" main animation?

Is there any way to get Flex Builder to connect to an existing browser session running Flash Player Debugger? I can connect to FDB like this, but with Builder I need to click Debug and rush to close the newly opened browser window before it loads the Flash file and then go back to the session I want to connect and right click it to start the debugger.
Unfortunately this is not very reliable as I can't always beat the window opening, requiring several attempts before being able to connect to the session I am interested in. If I could just tell Builder 'Start debugging' and then have it wait for the connection, I could now calmly go over to the browser, right click, hit debug, provide the IP and voila. This would allow me to inspect variables on a hard to replicate bug on a session running on a tester's computer.

I'm trying to create flash rollovers for buttons that play the full rollover animation even if you roll of it, and if you stay on it if will play once and not keep repeating. The rollover animation is only short, about 2 seconds, but which ever way I try it I can't get it to play the full clip if you roll off, either that or it will play the full clip but keep repeating if you keep the mouse on it.
At the moment it is just a movieclip in a rollover keyframe of a button.This has stumped me for years. Other sites seem to do it fine (off the top of my head the 4 menu rollovers at the bottom of http:[url].... do it - if you rollover each one left to right in one go they do a kind of Mexican wave) but I just can't see a way of doing it.

The way I have it set up - each piece of artwork animates to center screen as it fades in when you click it's thumbnail. This part works fine.

I'm building a web site for a client. He asked me to make an animation on the homepage to show at start a world image / a globe (just the company logo) that "expands", like if it opens (from behind) into a plain map (which is another image) of the world and then show a text over it. I know and develop in PHP / MYSQL / Photoshop / JQuery effects/plugin but sadly (are we sure ? :P ) I know nothing about flash and actionscript.
So I was wondering if you could guide me to what to do, where should I start?Consider I video edit since 2003ish so I'm not lost here, I was thinking making a video about it and the show it on the page but doesn't feel like a good solution considering that the last frame should be static and more importantly the file size!. Is at least possible to do it in Flash?
I have an advantage over this situation though: I learn fast, so speak up :) what should I do?

I currently made a flash animation. the background is the only one that is animated and scrolls to the right. But my problem is why it lags? Is there any way to not make it lag? here's a link of the swf file you can view: http:[url]......I tried it on a high spec pc and it does not lag when it is in normal screen(640x480) but when I view it in full screen it lags. There are no scripts or anything in this file just animation.

I'm learning flash animation and am wondering once I save the flash file to a dvd format, how does the end-user navigate when they put the dvd into their TV? Do I need to design and incorporate a menu for the end-user? If so, how does the TV remote control navigate through this menu that was created on a Mac computer?

I played around quite a bit and came up with exactly the effect I was looking for. Basically a movie clip with floating icons that come in and out of the stage. All was done in actionScript 3.0 and Code Snippets. There is no timeline per se, using the classic timeline view it is only one keyframe, the animation lasts for about 45 seconds.
I want the animation to loop continueously. Even in the HTML output I did click Loop Cont. under Publish settings. That does not work either.

I have a flash ad that I can only play once. After it plays the user is required to mouseover to play it. When their mouse leaves the ad it stops playing.I am not sure what code I need for this. I am guessing a stop action with some extras.

I have made a website and put inside it a flash game. For people to play the game they have to log into the website. Logging to the website will create a session. I want for the flash game to get the session id, so I have created a function that gets the session id. It works only in Internet Explorer and when I tried it in Chrome, it didn't retrieve the session id. In my original thread my answer was given and I only needed to take the information and tweak it to make it apply throughout other instances in the code.This is marked as answered. The way I constructed the code heBecause each Movie Clip is individually handled, I was explained by Ned Murphy on this forum that I need to insert code for each individual clip to send it back to start when it comes off the stage because it is structured to go to infinity with the movie symbols continuing on their path.I get that. ittle code to add was provided for an example clip that started at the top of the stage and went down, then when it goes off the stage, go back. In this case it was for MovieClip_1 (Out of 15) The red was the additional code (Provided by Ned Murphy who is IMHO a Guru here) that was added :

I am trying to make a flash banner with a picture on the right that is covered with blinds and opens when the page loads. Then on the left side of the banner I have some text that I want to fade in after the picture loads and stops, I don't have a clue as to what I am doing wrong I can get the picture to loads and the blinds to open, but when I attempt to add the text fade in to it I no longer have my picture, although the text fade-in works fine. I am rather new to Flash and I have been work ing ont his for 3 days with no luck.
