I would like to have it added with controls and play while the user is browsing the site. I don't want it to start playing automatically I want the user to be aware there is a song for them to listen to. I don't have any images for buttons.
View 2 Repliesi need to play two FLVs continuously one after the other - you might think it's an easy task, but every time i try to do that there is this annoying gap between the videos that flickers, and it's have to be seamless.the ON_COMPLETE event worked poorly, so im sampling the playheadTime of the first FLV and test it for it's end, minus a certain offset value.. but the lag is still there.i ever rewrote the FLVPlayback component to my own NetStream object extending, hoping it will take less run-time memory consuming but noting...and the thing is,the lag sometimes happens, and sometimes don't..when trying to sample the gap it brings me different values every time, but there is no way to correct it,because changing the playheadTime causing a random, few milliseconds lag itself, and we are back to square one..

I have a few flvs made from After Effects that are now movieclip symbols that I have to use as buttons. My problem is that I want those movieclips to continuously play even without doing a mouse rollover. Then, when it's rollover, rollout, or click time, another animation will play within the movieclips that I'm going to use as a button.

I'm a beginner level student. My project is to create a Splash Intro and a 4 page Website (Home page and 4 internal pages). I have to use Flash (no HTML, Java, CSS, etc). We are using Flash CS3 with Action Script 3. The Splash Intro should play continuously. This part I have working like a charm. However, the project requires a Skip Intro button. I have made the Skip intro button and gave the "instance" a name. The next part is where I'm stuck. I want to be able to click on the Skip Intro button and go to the first page of my "Website." I have all of my pages on one timeline. No movie clips. This is very basic.
My Home page has some animation on it. My name comes in from the left and three buttons come in from the right. When the user clicks on the Skip Intro button, I want it to go to the Home page, play the brief animation and STOP. I don't want the Skip Intro button to just go to frame 40 (for example) and just stop. And, if it goes to frame (50) for example and stops the user will miss the animation (right?). I am loading images from a mysql database. Lets say I was displaying 8 on a page, how can I tell how many pages I have and have it update when more images are added? Like on sites where they have links like
images 1-12 | 13-25 | 26-38 | 39-51 etc
I'd like to hardcode a file to periodically check its modification date. Do you have to browse for a file first using filereference.browse to check its modification date or can you hardcode a local file (with absolute path)?

When you click the buttons, appropriate product picture appears and when you click on the picture page is redirected to that products page. I want that animation to be automatically browsing products. And when you click some button browsing would stop, picture would appear, if no action wait for a while and continue browsing(first picture, second picture, ...) automatically.

It seems that when i select a file lower then 200kb it passes ok but when the file is bigger it throws SecurityError: Error #2000: No active security context. Where is these restrictions set for size limit?

Is it possible to have flash animation work uninterrupted on my site (in some overlay at the border of the browser) while user browses my site pages?The only way I see is to put animation onto <frame> but the geometry of such layout is very limited.

Is it possible to load a movie without loading into target? So that when they select a different option it will have already been loaded in the background and would just have to be displayed in the container.

I learned about .htaccess & put this file in the site folder:now the page prompted me to download shockwave player. Instead of playing the .swf, the Shockwave logo shows. I would rather the movie play in Flash player.
View 6 RepliesI bought a Flash Portfolio program from Flash Components and followed the tutorial for setup and when I click index.html within my flashport folder, from my local PC it works perfectly. Now when I upload it to my website and try and run [URL], or [URL] a small portion of it loads (just my name and a blank screen really) and stops. So it works when I run the it from my local machine, but doesn't work from my website. Can anyone provide and thoughts or comments?
View 5 RepliesIn a kind of image browser where navigation is done through keyboard's arrow keys, I get the case where the user keeps the finger pressed on the arrow key. There, the list scroll faster and the screenshot doesn't have time to draw that the next item is already called.
I can see that in that case the CPU goes from an usual 1% when browsing "gently"..to about 20% when leaving the arrow key pressed and raging through the list of images.
I was thinking to:
1) Force the scroll rate to max out at 10 items per second
or
2) Only show pictures if key downs are > 10fps
or
3) Find a function that would wait for the last image to be drawn before continuing in the list.
So, to summarize:
- how to skip drawing pictures if the list is browsed to fast...or
- how to force the script to wait for the current image to be drawn before passing to the next item...or

View 5 RepliesI have a swf animation that plays a sound on the main home page. People are happy to hear the sound upon first entering the website but it starts to get annoying after that (people go to different pages on the site then come back to the home page).
Just wondering what would be a good way to do this? I can set it up so that he same swf file is used on every webpage.
I understand that I could do a cookie or something like it/ session variable, but is that over kill? Can I do something via actionscript / the swf by itself?
I have a website when requires the user to be logged in to access the contents. I need to embed some music player which can play some mp3. But the mp3 download link cannot be public, so is there any way to pass the PHP session to any flash based players so that the user can listen to it.
Edit: I would want a ready made flash player which has this functionality. Ideally something like the yahoo media player which can be embedded easily
My Objective is to play a youtube video in a site which is build in Action Script 3.0. We have developed a site where the client side is completely flash and the back end is managed using php. what we need is to display the youtube vidoes in the client side flash page. Youtube videos can be displayed in html pages using the <object> tag. But in flash is it possible. note: You tube is providing an API, which will work only in sites developed in Action Script 2.0. But we need it to be played in Action Script 3.0. Is there really an API for Action Script 3.0 ?

I need a MC 'A' to play on stage when the site starts. When any of the 4 out of 5 MC buttons in navigation is clicked, another MC should show instead of MC 'A' on the stage. Only when 1 MC button is clicked anything other than MC 'A' should disappear and MC 'A' should play. I wat to achieve this and trying to figure out how to best do this.
