on previous host, .swf played in Flash Player. I moved the site to GoDaddy & found the movie would not play. I learned about .htaccess & put this file in the site folder:now the page prompted me to download shockwave player. Instead of playing the .swf, the Shockwave logo shows. I would rather the movie play in Flash player.

I would like to make a portion of a site that is stimulated from the mouse being moved. So, as the user moves their mouse I want the timeline to change (for an image will load on each new timeline). So, it will be kind of like a flip book that is activated by the mouse moving. Hopefully that makes sense. Each scene a person will be moving (new picture in a new frame) as the mouse moves up or down.

I'm working on creating a gallery for my portfolio site. I have thumbnails of all my work. I've turned them into button and made it so when you rollover it, a larger preview of it appears with a description of the piece, off to the side in a designated area. Instead of making my stage larger or creating more pages to contain all my thumbnails, I made a vertical scrollbar. The scrollbar works just fine. The problem is when the thumbnail is moved, the rollover that would be moves in relation to it.how can I absolutely make sure that any rollover I create with a button is where I want it to be, no matter where the thumbnail moves to?

Can't figure it out. I've got a video file to stream from my published Flash file. Works great at home.All the files are in a single folder. I transfer the folder to a jump drive to bring it to school and when I load it up on the website I get this green/black filer on the play skin andthe video won't play. I double check to see if I can play it on my school machinestraight off the jump drive and it doesn't work either (it did on my home machine).

I am using a start and stop drag to move in the time line but the only way i can make it work is to have it play when ever I release the play head. I would like it to stay stopped if the player is paused and play if the player was playing.

View 21 RepliesI am trying to create an interactive image gallery for use on my GoDaddy.com site. The site is template based and will only accept a single standalone.swf file. As an example GoDaddy shows an image gallery created in Flash Slideshow Maker Pro. However, this is only for a PC platform and I'm on a Mac. I created an interactive image gallery using Jetphoto software. However, the Jetphoto software does not produce a single standalone .swf file. Instead it produces folders containing hi & lo jpgs, an html file, an xml file and a jetphotview.swf file. Does anyone know of a Mac based interactive slideshow program that is easy to use and will create a single .swf file? Or, although I don't know how to use it, I own a full version of Flash. Is there any way to convert the series of Jetphoto files to a single .swf file? When it is opened in Flash the save menus are grayed out. I tried to convert the .swf file back to an .fla file to bring into Flash and that doesn't work either.

View 2 RepliesI recently made simple changes to a class file and a document class when I run on my PC it works when I upload to my host godaddy it doesn't reflect any change. I've tried several different browsers making sure to clear cache first but no change the only thing I can think of is that the server is caching some of the files. Do they do that? If so is there a script I can run to refresh the server cache?

View 1 RepliesI bought a Flash Portfolio program from Flash Components and followed the tutorial for setup and when I click index.html within my flashport folder, from my local PC it works perfectly. Now when I upload it to my website and try and run [URL], or [URL] a small portion of it loads (just my name and a blank screen really) and stops. So it works when I run the it from my local machine, but doesn't work from my website. Can anyone provide and thoughts or comments?

View 5 RepliesI have a swf animation that plays a sound on the main home page. People are happy to hear the sound upon first entering the website but it starts to get annoying after that (people go to different pages on the site then come back to the home page).
Just wondering what would be a good way to do this? I can set it up so that he same swf file is used on every webpage.
I understand that I could do a cookie or something like it/ session variable, but is that over kill? Can I do something via actionscript / the swf by itself?
I have a website when requires the user to be logged in to access the contents. I need to embed some music player which can play some mp3. But the mp3 download link cannot be public, so is there any way to pass the PHP session to any flash based players so that the user can listen to it.

My Objective is to play a youtube video in a site which is build in Action Script 3.0. We have developed a site where the client side is completely flash and the back end is managed using php. what we need is to display the youtube vidoes in the client side flash page. Youtube videos can be displayed in html pages using the <object> tag. But in flash is it possible. note: You tube is providing an API, which will work only in sites developed in Action Script 2.0. But we need it to be played in Action Script 3.0. Is there really an API for Action Script 3.0 ?

I need a MC 'A' to play on stage when the site starts. When any of the 4 out of 5 MC buttons in navigation is clicked, another MC should show instead of MC 'A' on the stage. Only when 1 MC button is clicked anything other than MC 'A' should disappear and MC 'A' should play. I wat to achieve this and trying to figure out how to best do this.
View 7 RepliesI have a site I've added a few new modules to, but the video player module just doesn't want to play at all All the components load when I test the movie but none of the external data loads, and when I test the scene with all components on its own it works fine.I've tried a few things but, still can't get this to work, and I've even tried downloading another multi video player and it did the same thing, I don't know where I'm going wrong It's all contained in a movieclip called 'bsv' and as I said works fine when I do test scene or be able to take a look at the site if I were to upload it?

I have a mp3 player in a stand alone swf that I load into level 30 (or something). It works just fine, plays music and stop when I click the button. However, it continues to play after I have left my site and are browsing other pages, and at that point you have no way of turning it off. This is if course a big problem and I have taken the music.swf down for the time being.

how to place SWF Movies into a site and have them play in the same window you start them in. I am interest in having it be similar to the way [URL] has there videos, even though those aren't swfs. I'd like there to be a simply play button and when it is done the play button comes up again.
View 0 RepliesI've been working on my first full blown flash site for a few weeks, tackling problems as I encounter them, and I've learned a lot...but sometimes the simplest things I cannot figure out for the life of me. All I am trying to do is have some flash banner SWF files play within the portfolio page of my site. I don't want them to open in a pop up or anything just play within the page when the link on my site is clicked. I figured it would act like a movie clip and I could just drop it onto the stage, but when I do that it doesn't look right, loops continuously, and is not interactive. How can I make this work?

I have a small SWF that works if I run it in FlashDevelop or when I run it (by double clicking) it from the bin folder. Now, if I move the bin folder anywhere else, and then double click on the SWF, it runs, but is missing the .pngs. The folder structure is: bin contains .swf bin/assets/imges contains .pngs I copied the whole project folder to another place, but still, the same problem occurred. What do you think might be the problem?
View 3 Repliesi have made a site in flash. stage size 955x600 i have exported it as fullscreen with no scale. the problem is that if i browse the site with a resolution of 800x600 (760x420 if i'm not wrong), the browser dont' add scrolls and its impossible to see the complete site. How can i fix this without resizing the site. i want the users to see with the proportions that i have now.. ijust want a scroll on the browser.
