The .flv is 35mb so the video is understandably jumpy. I was wondering what i should do to get round this... Is there a way to buffer it at the start so that there will be no glitches in it? The showreel has already been compressed quite a lot so can't shave much off the film size...
it has interactive picture gallery where you roll over with the mouse and click on the desired photo to see it on bigger size. I would like to replace the big photos with videos of my showreel. you can go and check it out: [URL]. Flash only allows me to exchange for the same file this case pictures.
View 6 RepliesI bought a Flash Portfolio program from Flash Components and followed the tutorial for setup and when I click index.html within my flashport folder, from my local PC it works perfectly. Now when I upload it to my website and try and run [URL], or [URL] a small portion of it loads (just my name and a blank screen really) and stops. So it works when I run the it from my local machine, but doesn't work from my website. Can anyone provide and thoughts or comments?

View 5 RepliesI have a website when requires the user to be logged in to access the contents. I need to embed some music player which can play some mp3. But the mp3 download link cannot be public, so is there any way to pass the PHP session to any flash based players so that the user can listen to it.
Edit: I would want a ready made flash player which has this functionality. Ideally something like the yahoo media player which can be embedded easily
I've been working on my first full blown flash site for a few weeks, tackling problems as I encounter them, and I've learned a lot...but sometimes the simplest things I cannot figure out for the life of me. All I am trying to do is have some flash banner SWF files play within the portfolio page of my site. I don't want them to open in a pop up or anything just play within the page when the link on my site is clicked. I figured it would act like a movie clip and I could just drop it onto the stage, but when I do that it doesn't look right, loops continuously, and is not interactive. How can I make this work?
View 0 RepliesI'm starting a blog with a hosted wordpress instance and i would like to be able to stream music using a flash player on some posts.The problem is that every player i find uses a simple param to get the file url which makes it very easy for someone to find that url and just download the file.I know that it's probably impossible to prevent this all together, but i at least don't want it to be obvious.

I learned about .htaccess & put this file in the site folder:now the page prompted me to download shockwave player. Instead of playing the .swf, the Shockwave logo shows. I would rather the movie play in Flash player.

My Objective is to play a youtube video in a site which is build in Action Script 3.0. We have developed a site where the client side is completely flash and the back end is managed using php. what we need is to display the youtube vidoes in the client side flash page. Youtube videos can be displayed in html pages using the <object> tag. But in flash is it possible. note: You tube is providing an API, which will work only in sites developed in Action Script 2.0. But we need it to be played in Action Script 3.0. Is there really an API for Action Script 3.0 ?

I need a MC 'A' to play on stage when the site starts. When any of the 4 out of 5 MC buttons in navigation is clicked, another MC should show instead of MC 'A' on the stage. Only when 1 MC button is clicked anything other than MC 'A' should disappear and MC 'A' should play. I wat to achieve this and trying to figure out how to best do this.
View 7 Repliesi have made a site in flash. stage size 955x600 i have exported it as fullscreen with no scale. the problem is that if i browse the site with a resolution of 800x600 (760x420 if i'm not wrong), the browser dont' add scrolls and its impossible to see the complete site. How can i fix this without resizing the site. i want the users to see with the proportions that i have now.. ijust want a scroll on the browser.
View 2 RepliesI have a site I've added a few new modules to, but the video player module just doesn't want to play at all All the components load when I test the movie but none of the external data loads, and when I test the scene with all components on its own it works fine.I've tried a few things but, still can't get this to work, and I've even tried downloading another multi video player and it did the same thing, I don't know where I'm going wrong It's all contained in a movieclip called 'bsv' and as I said works fine when I do test scene or be able to take a look at the site if I were to upload it?

I have a mp3 player in a stand alone swf that I load into level 30 (or something). It works just fine, plays music and stop when I click the button. However, it continues to play after I have left my site and are browsing other pages, and at that point you have no way of turning it off. This is if course a big problem and I have taken the music.swf down for the time being.

View 1 Repliesthe flash4 published set of files, with a variety of skins tried, works well on the local drive, even when moved to a different folder structure. when index.html is opened on the remote web site, the browser (firefox3 and ie7) displays the player conrols and a rotating horizontal barber pole, green and black, but no flash video.some of the skins i've used are: SkinOverPlaySeekFullscreen.swf, nOverPlayStopSeekCaptionVol.swf and SkinUnderPlay.swf. all work locally but do not play the .flv file on the web site. no problem playing flv movies on the remote web site if the file set is created by dreamweaver.

View 2 RepliesI play games on Pogo and have never had a problem with their Flash Games until released Daily Hot Shots. It doesn't load fully and I've done EVERYTHING I know to do to get it to play. No errors show up. I can play ALL the other flash games but this one. When I right click, the name of the site's owners do not show up....I have the settings showing though Not all of the game loads and that's the problem. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling....tried a different browser and have the same exact problem. THIS GAME WILL NOT PLAY.

because when i extracted the zip file it had only the different swf. files and the main file where they were going to be loaded. What i am saying is do all the swf. files have to have some connection to the main movie where i am loading the swf. files in order for it to work or it doesn't matter. so what am trying to say is i could have any swf. file and use that action to my main movie even if has nothing in come and it will play it.
I have developed an site in flash doesnt throw any error in Flash IDE debug mode, But when I launch this in web browser it throws error.
Disadvantage of showing error in browser window is that it wont show the line number of the error. Is there any otherway to get the line number of error, when running in the browser.
