Safari Doesn't Play Flash Site

Sep 1, 2010I produced a website a year ago now, and up until now it has been working fine. My client brought to my attention today that there are suddenly problems when viewing the site in chrome, IE and safari. You cannot get past the landing page as the 'enter' button is not there despit the graphics being in the right place.I have updated to flash player 10.1, and opened, published and uploaded the flash file in a newer version of flash to see whether that helped, but no go.

Jan 25, 2012I had designed and setup a flash website for a client a while ago and just recently they emailed me saying their website doesn't work in Google Chrome or Safari. I have SWF Object 2 on the website and that doesn't seem to help. The flash component of the website doesn't show up at all yet works fine in IE and FF. What could be the issue here?

Jan 13, 2011I have implemented SWFAddress 2.4, it works perfectly in Chrome and Firefox on Mac. But in Safari 5.0.3 on Mac, the back button doesn't trigger the AddressChangeEvent. Deep linking works on Safari, just the back button doesn't.

Nov 1, 2006ive created a flash site for a client and it runs very smoothly on Fire Fox, but when it is opened in IE, come elements crapped!! what should i do, should i plce a splash screen that will tell them that "this site is best viewed on fox!", IE has many bugs!! esp in flash. above is the link to the site. all are fine in fox, except for IE. the links are on the products section are all popups because thats what the client told me, he doesnt want it to be external swfs. notice on the products section: Firefox: all product links are functional IE: Some are functional and some are not, and theres a ! sign on the lower left saying error loading page.

When I preview the page from Dreamweaver in Safari or Opera, it works. When I load it up on the server, and check it on the web in those browsers, it doesn't.

Jul 15, 2010I have a flash gallery I created using Flash CS4 and Actionscript 3. It plays perfectly in FireFox, but in IE and Safari it just shows me a blank space on the page where the gallery should be. As a test I uninstalled Flash Player, and FireFox and Safari showed me the message that a newer version of Flash was needed along with a link to get it, but IE showed nothing. Now that Flash is re-installed, only FireFox actually loads/plays the gallery. With IE it doesn' tmatter if I use the 32-bit or 64-bit, or if compatibility mode is on or off. I tried republishing with Flash 9 set instead of Flash 10, but that made no difference. It fails with the HTML file generated out of Flash, as well as the page I created in Dreamweaver and used the Insert Media command to insert the .swf:

Flash :: Professional - Won't Play On Site
Apr 27, 2011I bought a Flash Portfolio program from Flash Components and followed the tutorial for setup and when I click index.html within my flashport folder, from my local PC it works perfectly. Now when I upload it to my website and try and run [URL], or [URL] a small portion of it loads (just my name and a blank screen really) and stops. So it works when I run the it from my local machine, but doesn't work from my website. Can anyone provide and thoughts or comments?

But the mp3 download link cannot be public, so is there any way to pass the PHP session to any flash based players so that the user can listen to it.
Edit: I would want a ready made flash player which has this functionality. Ideally something like the yahoo media player which can be embedded easily

Jan 30, 2009I've been working on my first full blown flash site for a few weeks, tackling problems as I encounter them, and I've learned a lot...but sometimes the simplest things I cannot figure out for the life of me. All I am trying to do is have some flash banner SWF files play within the portfolio page of my site. I don't want them to open in a pop up or anything just play within the page when the link on my site is clicked. I figured it would act like a movie clip and I could just drop it onto the stage, but when I do that it doesn't look right, loops continuously, and is not interactive. How can I make this work?

May 12, 2010I'm starting a blog with a hosted wordpress instance and i would like to be able to stream music using a flash player on some posts.The problem is that every player i find uses a simple param to get the file url which makes it very easy for someone to find that url and just download the file.I know that it's probably impossible to prevent this all together, but i at least don't want it to be obvious.

Oct 11, 2009I have apps in flash8 AS2 and flash10 AS3. When I open the AS2 apps in flash CS4 they don't work. This is a massive problem as I put them in a visual basic app with the flash 10 ocx. So the damn thing doesn't open them properly. I thought these things were backward compatible.

Jun 7, 2010I have a 3,5 MB .swf file on my webpage it works perfectly well in firefox. But in internet explorer it doesnt seem to play. My guess is that IE uploads the whole .swf file before playing it. Can anyone here tell me how to let it work in IE as well?

Sep 11, 2011I am loading mp3's externally as to not bloat the swf. However, only 1 out of 3 songs play (2nd song plays) for this jukebox I'm having to create for an assignment. I would think if one song played, they all would. I've checked the AS2 code and it all seems right to me; the song names and button instance names. I sure could use some insight as to why the 1st and 3rd song doesn't play. My jukebox is at: [URL] and here is my simple code in the first Actions frame. This is the only code I used for the jukebox.

Flash :: Movie Doesn't Auto-Play?
May 29, 2009When I export my flash movie to be hosted then embed it on my site (myspace) the flash banner(no controls) doesn't AutoPlay. I checked and unchecked Paused at Start in the publish settings, published and exported, but both times when I hover/click on the blank/unloaded movie the menu shows the Play option unchecked. My file has a preloader and the movie/content starts on frame 2. I have CS4/AS3.have the movie autopaly on it own. (I wish Adobe would have named the option Autoplay instead of Paused at Start,I wonder who came up with that).Here's my code:

Jun 1, 2011I just added a mp3 song to my flash page and it plays well in preview and after it's published. But after I've uploaded it to my site along with the mp3 song, it doesn't play.I moved the mp3 onto the stage and that is how I set it up. Am I doing this wrong or do I need to code it somehow? If so, is there a simple way of doing this?

May 21, 2011I am developing an application for android 3.0 tablet, that's supposed to play swf files inside a WebView.First I tried to open the swf file from the device, than through the internet, with no luck.The WebView shows up, but inside the WebView all I can see is a black screen (with a 3-4 px wide white line on the right).If I load the same URL to the device browser, the flash file plays well.I think Im missing something on the WebView setup, but after a few hours of searching and googling I still dont know what.The Java code:

I first must right click and select play. When I was testing my flash site on another server, it worked great and played automatically. Is there something within flash that I need to modify or is this an issue with the server?

Oct 10, 2011I have two embedded flv's in the timeline, one after the other. There are no errors in the video files. When the "playhead" in the exported swf comes to the end of the two combined videoclips, it jumps back to the first frame of the 2nd video clip for a fraction of a second, before playing from the start of the timeline as it is supposed to. I have explicitly done a "gotoandplay(1) in a separate action layer, at the last frame of the "movie", but that's not what happens.
