I have apps in flash8 AS2 and flash10 AS3. When I open the AS2 apps in flash CS4 they don't work. This is a massive problem as I put them in a visual basic app with the flash 10 ocx. So the damn thing doesn't open them properly. I thought these things were backward compatible.

But I can't force it to work in flowplayer and other flash video players.The message sequence after handshake is similar to FMS / RED5 / erlyvideo / haxevideo servers: I've tried a lot of variations.
From Chrome debug console I can see, what all negotiating messages passed to the flowplayer. The last one is onMetaData. And after this the working sample (rtmp://flash.tvwmedia.net/LiveVideo//Live300) gets NetStream.Buffer.Full. And streaming from my server don't get it.
I'm starting with AVC Header message, containing sps/pps. After it first AVC picture passed. After - AAC header and AAC sample. And then AVC/AAC samples. This dumped OK by rtmpdump - I have working flv on exit. But flowplayer and others does not work.

I picked up enough AS3 recently to create some advertising banners and they work perfectly when I test the movie within CS3 by using ctrl+enter. I uploaded the created swf on the website and experienced lots of weird problems like child mcs stopping to play after a while or movies not playing till the end etc.. On some movies, they will play properly if you reload the website, on some others (the one which doesnt play till the end) that wont fix the problem either. The banners' filesizes are also around 8KB for example and include only text and vectors.
I published my movie by letting Flash create an html file, and the exact same problems are occurring there aswell. I mean I got strict mode and everything turned on in Flash but I'm not getting any errors at all when testing the movie. I also dont see any visual errors. It's just the swf acting differently in a browser.
So I'm trying to figure out what the difference between the flashplayer used by CS3 and the one in firefox is for example. I got the latest flashplayer (10 r22) on firefox and it seems that CS3 is using the flashplayer 9 (I'm not sure about this but its the player I found in the CS3 folder).I'm using timeline based tweens (I know it sucks and I did this mostly on the first banners I created and started using the tween classes built in Flash later on when I learned more AS3) so wondering if this is the problem.
When my animations are playing in the flashplayer and you rightclick and uncheck the play command only the animations in the main timeline stop playing. All the child animations continue to play. How do I make it so they all will stop playing when play is unchecked?
Is there a event listener that monitors if the movie has been stopped?
I have sound playing in my flash file. My index file is a html file which calls the flash file, and when i run the html file, the sound doesn't play. Does anyone know how I can rectify this?

View 4 RepliesI have a 3,5 MB .swf file on my webpage it works perfectly well in firefox. But in internet explorer it doesnt seem to play. My guess is that IE uploads the whole .swf file before playing it. Can anyone here tell me how to let it work in IE as well?
View 6 RepliesI am loading mp3's externally as to not bloat the swf. However, only 1 out of 3 songs play (2nd song plays) for this jukebox I'm having to create for an assignment. I would think if one song played, they all would. I've checked the AS2 code and it all seems right to me; the song names and button instance names. I sure could use some insight as to why the 1st and 3rd song doesn't play. My jukebox is at: [URL] and here is my simple code in the first Actions frame. This is the only code I used for the jukebox.

When I export my flash movie to be hosted then embed it on my site (myspace) the flash banner(no controls) doesn't AutoPlay. I checked and unchecked Paused at Start in the publish settings, published and exported, but both times when I hover/click on the blank/unloaded movie the menu shows the Play option unchecked. My file has a preloader and the movie/content starts on frame 2. I have CS4/AS3.have the movie autopaly on it own. (I wish Adobe would have named the option Autoplay instead of Paused at Start,I wonder who came up with that).Here's my code:

I just added a mp3 song to my flash page and it plays well in preview and after it's published. But after I've uploaded it to my site along with the mp3 song, it doesn't play.I moved the mp3 onto the stage and that is how I set it up. Am I doing this wrong or do I need to code it somehow? If so, is there a simple way of doing this?

View 3 RepliesI am developing an application for android 3.0 tablet, that's supposed to play swf files inside a WebView.First I tried to open the swf file from the device, than through the internet, with no luck.The WebView shows up, but inside the WebView all I can see is a black screen (with a 3-4 px wide white line on the right).If I load the same URL to the device browser, the flash file plays well.I think Im missing something on the WebView setup, but after a few hours of searching and googling I still dont know what.The Java code:

The problem I have is simple: the play and load functions doesn't work in flash CS4 as defined in the documentation: URL...So to speak, I can only define like this: URL...My flash player version on all 3 fla files that I use is set to 10.And now with the GREAT issue I can't set startTime for the video and this is just GREAT.

I first must right click and select play. When I was testing my flash site on another server, it worked great and played automatically. Is there something within flash that I need to modify or is this an issue with the server?
View 3 RepliesI have two embedded flv's in the timeline, one after the other. There are no errors in the video files. When the "playhead" in the exported swf comes to the end of the two combined videoclips, it jumps back to the first frame of the 2nd video clip for a fraction of a second, before playing from the start of the timeline as it is supposed to. I have explicitly done a "gotoandplay(1) in a separate action layer, at the last frame of the "movie", but that's not what happens.
View 0 RepliesI made a 'movie' in Premiere and exported as FLV., Its suppose to be a banner on the top of a web page. The site was made with Dreamweaver. When played locally, the banner does great. When I put it on the server, thats a different story. I can tell thats something is there because it loads the background color of the flash file but it doesn't play the FLV.

I recently upgraded to flashplayer 11 and found that it made all the text on my buttons and dynamic text fields disappear. I noticed that you can see it when it first load and then vanishes. I can't find any documentation on this. Does anyone know how to fix?

But it seems you can only disable it on the FMS, by adding this setting to the application.xml. But the thing is we are not sure if we will end up using an FMS or not. So, can I disable Enhanced Seeking without using FMS?

I've written a videoplayer for Android based on Flash (10.2) which plays videostreams. In some cases (*), the player begins to buffer for quite some time. Now, while the player is acually playing the stream, Flash (somehow) signals the OS to prevent entering the sleep-mode. But while buffering, this is not the case and the phone will eventually enter sleep mode before the stream has restarted. So the user has to unlock the phone again - not very convenient. Is there a way to set a signal with Flash/AS3 to prevent the Andoid-phone to go into sleep mode? (*) mostly over the mobile network when the network access performes a handover between 3G and 2G or vice versa
View 1 RepliesDoes anyone know of a flash projector 'project' or 'framework' that uses a new flashPlayer for each window?We've used mProjector, which works well to a point, but I'm very disappointed in the fileIO patterns they use. It is very buggy with regard to reading and writing files.
mdm zinc uses multiple windows, but it is all sits on one flashPlayer 'session'. The same applies for AIR. It is great, but there isn't a way to make each window run on a seperate flashPlayer... extreme number crunching on one window will lock up all other windows.
edit - Just to clarify my needs (since I'm adding a little bounty), the app is an ERP application, built on Flex 3.x, and the size and scope of the project == huge.
tl;dr -- I need an exe wrapper (for windows), similar to AIR, that can have multiple windows, running each window on a seperate flashPlayer instance, and when a window is closed, it blows-away that flashPlayer instance / stage / etc.
I just updated to CS5 - I'm working on a custom video player. It works fine embedded in a web page both locally and on the network. It works fine in the debug player. However, when I test it in the authoring player I get a NetStream.Play.StreamNotFound error and no video. I have tried setting the Local Playback Security publish settings to both local and network - doesn't find the video either way.
It used to run fine in CS4 in the authoring environment.
I have an FLV file embeded in a SWF. The file plays when directly opened by Firefox or Internet Explorer. However, it doesn't play when embedded in an HTML page.
