View 1 RepliesI recently made simple changes to a class file and a document class when I run on my PC it works when I upload to my host godaddy it doesn't reflect any change. I've tried several different browsers making sure to clear cache first but no change the only thing I can think of is that the server is caching some of the files. Do they do that? If so is there a script I can run to refresh the server cache?

I decided to try to use setInterval for myanimation, which is just a mouse trail.However, I'm trying to get teh mouse trail to be a dynamic mask.In my previous swf this was achieved by using a holder mc with the animation inside and then using this as the mask. But this time I just canpt seem to hit on the right way to get it to work. The code I am using for the mouse trail is:

I have a button object that I need to scale to align with the variable width of an array of images.However, when I set the width in code, the button does not actually become that width. Tracing out the width gives me the correct value, but on screen.. it's off.
I've proved it to myself by scaling the same button object manually in the properties pane and visually comparing. Both of the buttons below have a width of 410.

I learned about .htaccess & put this file in the site folder:now the page prompted me to download shockwave player. Instead of playing the .swf, the Shockwave logo shows. I would rather the movie play in Flash player.
View 6 RepliesI am by no means a Flash power-user but I am accustomed to labeling layers instead of leaving the default "Layer 1, Layer 2, etc."Now that I have Flash Pro CS4 I am unable to do that with any effectiveness. When I double-click on the default layer name, that field should become editable. The problem is that it's only editable for a split second. Unless I type a character as soon as I lift my finger from the second of the double-click - I dont get to edit that field.
View 2 RepliesI am trying to create an interactive image gallery for use on my GoDaddy.com site. The site is template based and will only accept a single standalone.swf file. As an example GoDaddy shows an image gallery created in Flash Slideshow Maker Pro. However, this is only for a PC platform and I'm on a Mac. I created an interactive image gallery using Jetphoto software. However, the Jetphoto software does not produce a single standalone .swf file. Instead it produces folders containing hi & lo jpgs, an html file, an xml file and a jetphotview.swf file. Does anyone know of a Mac based interactive slideshow program that is easy to use and will create a single .swf file? Or, although I don't know how to use it, I own a full version of Flash. Is there any way to convert the series of Jetphoto files to a single .swf file? When it is opened in Flash the save menus are grayed out. I tried to convert the .swf file back to an .fla file to bring into Flash and that doesn't work either.

In Vista I had to deal a lot with crahes here and crashes there depending on file formats or number of passes, it could rarely get things done. Now I upgraded to Win 7. But this time I can't even encode ANYTHING. It always crashes and gives me this error: Adobe, give me a version that WORKS for all that loads of money I paid you over the years!

Or is there another service provider I should be looking at. Or some other way of streaming. Also what is the largest file size I should try to stream? I see QuickTime HD movie trailers all the time and they stream beautifully and there super large sometimes 120mb

View 1 RepliesI'm not sure if the problem is as straight forward as the title describes, but it seems to be the only explaination. I'm loading a video at the begining of an application, but I don't want the skip Intro button to appear until the video "READY" event is fired. This works perfectly on the 32bit flash player but won't work on the 64bit flash player. It's not a streaming issue because I tested in both the local environment and via a server. I know the 64 bit player is in beta still, so there will be issues like this. I'm just wondering if anyone has found a work around. Here is my code if it.

I have a HP tx2500 tablet pc. I put the beta of windows 7 on it several months ago and had no trouble (64 bit). The service period expired, so I wiped it and put the windows 7 RC on it (also 64 bit). This has caused me problems with photoshop and flash (both cs3) as they will not recognize touch sensitive input! (aka when i press hard the line gets darker). In photoshop the option is set but nothing happens, in flash the button for touch sensitive input has simply disappeared, there is just grey where it used to be. I updated windows all the way and updated my flash and photoshop as well.

View 5 RepliesI am really new at this forum thing and am quite an amateur when it comes to computers, I am taking some classes, so please be patient with my ignorance when it comes to computers You Tube, Ehow, or any kids web sights(for my kids),ie:PBS; continuously freezes. I just recently bought a Samsung RV511. When I first started using it adobe worked just fine but only for about a month and now I don't remember changing anything. The only advice I have gotten was that I should back up and restore my computer. I have not done this because I am not sure exactly what it will affect. I have backed up my computer to a external hard drive but that is as far as I have gotten.

View 3 RepliesI have a swf that is pretty complicated, you can interact with the page and go to different keyframes and it stops and/or starts depending on buttons, but I want to put it in a fla or something so I can put other swfs next to it and build it up and put several of them together as one.
I don't care about making it too complicated, I just want one interactive swf to go to the next compiled swf when that movie ends, but when I try importing it or loading it it just runs straight through without stopping or paying any attention to the scripting.
I am trying to more between frames using the data returned from a node n_EventID in an xml, when the node returns "1408" I want to move to frame 1 but if it returns anything else I want to move to frame 2. The part where the code moves to frame 2 seems to work perfectly but I can't seem to move to frame 1 when "1408" is returned.

I'm having a problem, where random IE's are not able to display my .swf file. All the IE's are IE8 with the latest flash pluggins and all security's are set at Medium, however some IE's get just a grey box and other's get the full flash file. What's going on? It works fine in Safari and Firefox of course, but why so much difficulty with AS3 Flash9 in IE? here is a link to the site, and it's the big image changer at the bottom of the front page.

But my proublem is that I have a flash presentation.The defalt for moving the slide screens back and forth are left and right arrows.It works fine when tested or even the .swf fileBut then the left and right buttons don't respond when I go to fullscreen.
View 5 RepliesIs it common for AS3 apps to not work in IE? Is there a way to make them work? I have a movie clip in my library linked to a custom class Main and I have nothing on stage. Just one frame. Everything is built inside that movie clip. I add that movie clip to stage through a document class and everything works perfectly in Firefox and Chrome but when I open it in IE, it's just a blank page.

I've made a rounded rectangle with a gradient fill and another rounded rectangle over it with a transparency to create kind of a glossy effect. Both objects are part of a symbol in the library of the FLA file. Then, I activated the checkbox to create a scale-9 grid, and the Export for Actionscript checkbox in order to add this symbol from AS3. Next I made sure that every rounded corner was completely included in the slices on the edges of the grid. Well, no matter what, the object is scaled as a normal graph: the rounded corners appear bigger and deformed.
