Jan 13, 2009Is it possible to build an application in flash that can then be exported as say an exe and then be used in the background while another application is running? I know that sounds complicated so let me further explain. I currently dj with an application and would like to create another application with flash that allows users to play some custom sounds (drops) while running the primary dj application. I believe someone out there already has created an application via flash that does this (have to read up on it more). But from the research I did do there is no way to interface with the flash application unless you alt-tab to it. Is there someone way to build a flash application that can be assigned windows shortcuts (say f1 funuctionality) while another windows application is running?

ActionScript 3.0 :: ProgressEvent Works On 32bit But Not 64bit
Jan 4, 2011I'm not sure if the problem is as straight forward as the title describes, but it seems to be the only explaination. I'm loading a video at the begining of an application, but I don't want the skip Intro button to appear until the video "READY" event is fired. This works perfectly on the 32bit flash player but won't work on the 64bit flash player. It's not a streaming issue because I tested in both the local environment and via a server. I know the 64 bit player is in beta still, so there will be issues like this. I'm just wondering if anyone has found a work around. Here is my code if it.

Jul 15, 2011I am really new at this forum thing and am quite an amateur when it comes to computers, I am taking some classes, so please be patient with my ignorance when it comes to computers You Tube, Ehow, or any kids web sights(for my kids),ie:PBS; continuously freezes. I just recently bought a Samsung RV511. When I first started using it adobe worked just fine but only for about a month and now I don't remember changing anything. The only advice I have gotten was that I should back up and restore my computer. I have not done this because I am not sure exactly what it will affect. I have backed up my computer to a external hard drive but that is as far as I have gotten.

Jan 12, 2010I am working on a short animated story, which has a scrubbable timeline and chapter headings. I used TimelineMax for sequencing it. For the most part, it is working fine. I am seeing some strange behavior that pop up, though: sprites disappear, functions stop responding to user input, seams of the sprites become transparent -- all small issues but pretty hard to nail down because they happen in Mac only.
So I am wondering what is wrong with Flash, and why it misbehaves on a Mac?

Feb 23, 2011I'm running ant to compile a Flex application, and the build keeps failing when running it on a windows command line. Other people in my team can successfully run the very same build under mac and linux. This is the error shown in the command prompt:

All tokens are set in corresponding build.properties and filter .properties files (and, as I said before, it compiles perfectly under mac and linux). The windows version is 7 Ultimate, FLEX_HOME is set as an environment variable to the Flex SDK 3.5 (the 3.5.0.12683 build that comes with Adobe Flash Builder Burrito). ${compiler.fork} is set to false, to avoid an issue with the SDK and the source files being in different logic drives.

I am familiar with flex and am hoping that i be able to use it for the application. But i can not figure out a way to play the file in flex. I have been able to play the file only in windows media player and that required the installation of three codecs : Mp4Audio.ax, Mp4Video.ax, Mp4Src.ax.
As i see it, it will be very convenient if i could embed a windows media player plugin in flex or i could specify the audio and video codecs in the flash player

I know I can create both projector formats for windows and mac using the export feature in Flash Professional. These applications can connect and send message to each other without a problem on Windows XP. On Windows 7 however, they cannot.Does anyone know why this wouldn't work on Windows 7 and what steps can be taken to make it work? It's critical to our project that this works.In some cases, the applications take quite a long time to detect each other as neighbors (up to 15 seconds in some cases), in other cases they detect each other immediately. Jun 2, 2009I have installed the CS3 on a Dell workstation with Windows XP SP3 and when I try to exit when finished, Flash will not exit. It seems like it is trying but will not close. There is no error, the program just sits there. You have to right click on the program and click close to get it to close. Then the program wants to send a error.
