give me the actionscript for a bar that has a play and stop button to play and stop frames in a flash movie. i would be gratefull if you could as i am really stuck
I have a website that has two flash items on it. I have a swf that calls mp3s that plays on the page load, and I have a FLV that plays on page load. What I would like to happen is: on page load the FLV plays when the FLV Finishes the swf starts to play the mp3s. What already happens is that the pages load in _blank pages so they are in new windows. This is good because while you navigate the site, the music from the homepage is still cycling through the swf's mp3 playlist. The problem comes in when you navigate back to the homepage from a new window, and the homepage is still open within the first window. That means that the video plays over, while the music is playing, and the music doubles up. Now the video playing isn't bad, it's that music is doubling up. Can't it sense itself playing a 2nd instance of itself on another webpage and stop it?
Is it possible to play and stop a number of frames later, without using stop() in the frames? Like when I click a button frame 20 will start playing and it stops 30 frames later, all defined by the actions of the button..

When the movie loads, the music begins to play. I have a single Music On/Off button that can stop and restart the first track. However, whenever the user stops and then starts the music again, I'd like to alternate the track that plays.
As it stands now, only the the first track will play when the button is clicked (and when the movie loads, of course).
Code in action layer:
ActionScript Code: var song = 1; var my_sound:Sound = new Sound();
I have an external Gallery that is called within my fla file. My problem is that every time I try to go to my home page or any other page for that matter the gallery doesn't go away. I can access my other pages "frames" and everything works fine, but my gallery blocks some of the page. How can I exit out of my gallery when I go to another page??
I have a button that when clicked on, it enlarges and shows content inside the button. Now, there is more content inside this button that when clicked on, enlarges and shows more content. I have all that working fine.How can I create a "back" button that will play the same frames that I created my animation in, but play them in reverse to get the same animation but back. Is this the correct way of doing it, or do I need to create animated transitions for the reverse state as well.?
When i Click on a Button that play On Frame 1 to "Frames 10 With Stop(); in AS(actionscript) Layer" <--- After that it jumps to frame 20 ? (that skip 11 to 19)
So what should be my code ?
stop(); (now play from frame 20) <--- what is this code?
I've set up my flash movie to play and stop at certain frames in the movie. I'd like to add a pause button to pause the movie anywhere in the timeline or animation and then resume from spot it's paused on. This is for a presentation.
I frequently see the usage of ENTER_FRAME and EXIT_FRAME event types in AS3 code. I can even use the first event type just blindly to get certain things done. But I want to clear my concepts on these very fundamental things. My qeries are as below:When do the above 2 event types take place - I mean what triggers them?Does ENTER_FRAME trigger at the rate of FPS? If a MovieClip spans over 48 frames and the FPS = 24 - does this mean the ENTER_FRAME will occur 48 times for the full life-span of the MovieClip?Regarding the EXIT_FRAME, I could not find any example or description yet.
Okay, so I've got a happy little movie that shows an atom diagram. Every seven frames shows an electron popping up in the ring around the nucleus. This is all contained in a movie clip. I want a button that when pressed, tells the movie clip with the atom to advance the seven frames ( making an electron pop up ) and then stop. The same button if pressed again, will advance the movie clip an additional seven frames ( thus adding another electron ).
I've looked around quite a bit but haven't found a solution that will work for me. Also, I am working in AS2. (if you're feeling especially helpful, do you also know how to do the same but in reverse? I've found how to play movie clips in reverse, but not for a certain frame interval.)
I am currently in the middle of making a "sniping" flash game. In the first level there are a series of moving targets which are also movie clips. Inside the movie clip there is a 7 frame animation of the target exploding. Inside that is a tween of the target moving up and down. And inside that there is a plain old button.
What I want to happen is when you click on the moving target it explodes and brings you to a new frame of the main timeline. (ex. Main Timeline frame #27) But I'm pretty sure it thinks I was to play the seven frame animation of it exploding and then go to frame 27 inside the movie clip, rather then frame 27 on the main timeline.
Here's what my AS looks like on the target (ActionScript 2.0 is what I'm using.)
on (press) { play(); } on (release){ gotoAndStop(27)}
So how do I make it explode and then take me to frame 27 on the main timeline?
I have a film with 4 scenes in it: Here's a link to the film and as you can see the film does not play the music the second time because of the StopAllSounds function which is probably the wrong code to use. The first scene is just a button with 1 frame, a stop action and a music clip. The second scene is the film. The third scene is the credits fourth scene is a Play again button. I have a Stop all Sounds action on the fourth scene because if I do not use it and I press the Play Again button, the music from the first song keeps playing but also the music from the film starts up again so it starts to play twice. What I want to know is, how do I get the music to stop at the end of the film but start up again once I hit Play Again?
I am using Flash CS3 if that helps and using Actionscript2.
I have a show reel page on my server which shows two movies. Page one has text info and two buttons to direct viewer to which ever movie they want to view. Each movie is on its own page in the flash file (page2 and page3) and is not embedded in swf (pulled from server on request).
If you click on one movie button then change your mind and go to the second one then thats ok, but if you then decide to click back to your first choice then the crap hits the fan, that first movie is still running and hasn't returned to beginning. Visually you just get the green loading bar freaking out.
So I need some code to stop the FLV player each time viewers exit from one of the movies.
On a recent project I am working on, I created an event-based sound engine. Different components within Flex will be registered, and then the controller will listen to events and handle the information correctly. So, it just takes a custom SoundEvent or ChannelEvent to alter one of the channels, or play a sound.
I can not quite figure out what is wrong with my code, and I am finding myself snow-blind to the issue at hand. At first, I was going to rewrite it but I figured it would be better to learn from my mistake. Also, I realize that this is not correct for streaming sounds, but I am working off a local sound library until I get it up and running smoothly.
Here is the code for the SoundEvent:
package code.events { import flash.events.Event; public class SoundEvent extends Event
I have a project that has multiple swf files for each of the sections. One of my sections has some videos in it. When I start playing a video and click on a button for the main menu (button code is on the main menu page with addChild to place them on the additional swf pages) the video keeps playing on the new page. I don't want to hear the video on the different pages. I was wandering if there is a way to stop the video player when I exit the swf? Or are there any other ways to get the video to stop when I go to a different section of my project.
The problem is, if someone is playing the video and goes to another part of the flash movie, the video keeps playing or loading in the background. The video image doesn't show, but i can hear the audio or see in the browser that it is still loading.
How can i kill the video from loading once the playhead moves from the frame that the video player is on (it is sitting on a single frame)?
I have an FLV video loaded as an "external video with play back component" in my Flash site. It works pretty well, even loads fast regardless its 15MB size. The video located on its labeled section which has an "X" button which closes this section and brings a user back to the page with all the video sections. However once the labeled section with the video is closed the sound is still playing.Does any one know how to make it stop if the section with the video has been exited?Then go to HOW TO section and click on the link "here" for "The Arrangement" show it will bring you to the section with the video loaded as an "external video with play back component" in my Flash site.
I have added 4 different sound files to 4 different frames that are navigated via buttons. The problem i have is that if you navigate to another frame while one sound file is still playing the sound file continues over the next frame and the sounds clash. What i need to do is have the sound files stop once the frame is exited so is there a simple way to do this in AS3...
i am building a flash web site using the goto and stop method, with each "page" of the website being a different frame. on one page i have a music player, and it all works fine, and if you press stop before leaving that "page" or frame it all works well.the problem i've run into is if you go to another frame while the music player is still playing the music continues playing and when you go back to the frame the music player is on and press stop it doesnt do anything and if you press play it will start playing the song again with both songs playing over eachother.how to stop the music from playing when you exit that frame. here's the code for the music player:
Code: Select all//Music Player var musicReq:URLRequest; var music:Sound = new Sound();[code]..............
I have five different scenes all including three different buttons. When I test the buttons in "play scene" - all buttons sounds correctly in all scenes. But when I play movie, there is sound only with one button (the same button in every scene). I have looked for differences, but this button seem to have all the same parameters as the others.
I'm working on adding sound effects to a short animation. The first few sounds are syncing perfectly, however when I test the movie in Flash Player, at about the middle part of the animation, the sounds no longer sync; they play ahead of where they are supposed to. Testing the movie right in Flash, though, the sounds are fine. Exporting to a SWF file as well as a MPEG-4 also plays the unsynched sounds where they are not supposed to be
I have an animated flash site with lots of small mp3s placed directly on frames to match the animations.URL...Placing sounds on the frames added to the overall file size but was fine till I tried to create a sound off/on button - it seems that to manipulate ALL sounds they need to be placed into a movieclip.After followind a Kenny Bellows sound tutorial I placed all the little mp3's in an external file externalSoundObjects.swf.[code]I can place the mp3's back on the animation's timeline if anyone knows how I can get a sound on/off button to stop ALL sounds (incl. in child.swf's).Otherwise if anyone knows how to get the external sounds working I think I can then create a sound on/off myself
