When I try to publish my flash file to a windows projector file (exe), it doesnt show up in the folder that I have it set to save to. Below are images of the process I go through to publish it, and it still doesn't show up, even when I directly set the folder. I have tried restarting my computer and flash.

"DataProcessors","Lib2"
, included in my lets say "MainProject" (a web project) placed on directory
"E:in-debugMainProject.swf"
, when i build the project it automatically place all the libs .swf in its "E:in-debug" folder, but when i debug or run the project it it gives loading error that
"E:DataProcessors.swf"
not found but i have those lib files on
"E:in-debugDataProcessors.swf"..
what could be the possible errors.

View 2 RepliesI have just completed a project and upon publishing it found the swf file to be bloated. I looked at the report found 411K to be Action Script and 10k to be EVERYTHING else! The key is that I did no coding at all. I used the standard motion tweens, but the project is very, very simple. I have one moving graphic and about 10 pieces of text fading/zooming in/out.

I have them in a folder now, should I store them in the system folder or copy them to the programs directory for each application. Is there a way to put them in a folder so that "all adobe applications" can utalize them for production and publishing.

View 2 RepliesWhen I use swfobject (or, for that matter, publish from Flash)...if my HTML file is in the same folder as my Flash .swf (called "bin")...the flash file displays as a blank white page. I can tell the .swf is on the page, because when I right-click I see the flash context menu...however, the swf is blank. So the path isn't written incorrectly.If I move the HTML file inside the "bin" folder and change the path from "bin/myFile.swf" to "myFile.swf" everything works again...what gives?I think it might have something to do with using the Loader class...I am using loaders to loader external .jpeg files. But I don't know what to do about this other than to keep my HTML files in my "bin" folder which is a bit of a pain.

For example if I have 5 pdf files in a folder on the computer and then want to show these files in a swf file and if I then click on the pdf file open up the specific file. and if I remove or add a pdf file it will affect the list (its okay if its only updates the list when reloading the swf file)
View 1 RepliesMe and my buddy is having a huge problem. It seems like we have hit a limit in how many assets (movieclips/sounds etc) that we can have in our library. We can export at the moment, but if we put in another cutscene or sound flash wont export. It shows the progress bar but when its done the .swf dosent show up and cannot be found in the project folder.
Does anyone have a clue on whats going on? We've been working on this game for the past 5 months (full time) and we'd be devastated if all our time and effort has been in vain.
I usually work with many AS files in the same folder and it is easy to address those files to each other. But I now have a sub folder inside the name folder which stores most of my files; and there is another as file inside that sub folder. How can I change variables of the AS file(inside the sub folder) from the AS files from the main folder and vice verses.

I would like to change this so that it can take in a folder and will display all of them no matter the number. Is there a way to do this in flash? I'm thinking something like the foreach loop in perl or other scripting language. It is possible to store then number of images in a text file but I also don't know how to read that in flash either. I'm working in actionscript 3.

i am trying to create a flash movie for my browser page. i am able to import and export the movie just fine, the problem comes after i export the movie. As long as i leave the flash file in the folder it was created in things work great. If i try to move the folder or rename the folder it stops working. It acts like it cant find the flv file i created the flash with. if i rename or move the folder back where it was created things work fine.

I have been using Flash for a while Flash 8 and now Flash 9 I dont know too much about the program, someone wrote the program for me and I update it. When ever I publish the Site to upload to my server I have to go into the HTML file and insert <center> twice to get the site to be center on the web.It is not a big deal to edit the HTML file but every time I do it I figure there must be some button i dont have checked in Flash to just do it automatically.Seems like with such a huge and powerful program that must be an option that I am missing.

Im working on my website which was from a template. Ive gotten pretty far and all of a sudden my FLA file isnt exporting to a SWF file. It doesnt let me test the movie either, it shows the progress bar then does nothing. Similar to this guys problem on another forum:It shows the file in the folder for a split second then disappears. I really dont know what to do and I dont want to continue working on the file if theres a problem.

View 3 RepliesI'm having an issue regarding the file size of the .swf file whenever I publish my flash game. Whenever I publish my flash, I get a .swf file that ranges from 2MB (with lots of run-time errors) to 6MB (no errors). This is completely inconsistent, and I get a different size .swf every time I publish. The run-time errors I get when I unluckily publish a .swf that is below 6MB are:
Error #1034: Type Coercion failed
#2022: Class x must inherit from y and
#1009: cannot access a property or method from null reference.
This inconsistent problem started emerging after I turned each .as file in my game into it's own class. Sometimes it works fine. Other times it blows up.
I hired someone else to do the scripting for an animation that I originally created. It calls an xml file which displays 3 different items in the flash. It works great... except when I open the FLA file and republish it even if I don't change a single thing, the resulting SWF file does not work. I've tried everything to no avail. The script writer is using CS3. I am using CS4 although I HAVE tried with CS3 (on different computer). Both the script writer and myself work on Macs. The script writer even sent screen shots of the publish windows, and I'm selecting all the exact same options. (version 9, AS2). Has anyone else run into this type of problem? I'm at witt's end. I really need to be able to make changes to this file and republish it. I can post the FLA file if someone wishes to take a look.

View 1 RepliesI have edited the pageflip script and file to suit what I need to do and my issue is not related to the usual addition of pages or content etc... but is to do with publishing the file. I have increased the sizes of the page from what they are in the original file and this is where the issue lies because when I come to publish the file as an exe the content no longer seems to fit the window when published and you have to expand the viewer. The instructions for quite a lot of the pageflip is there and pretty easy to decipher however outputting/publishing the file seems to be unclear.
Can somone please point me in the right direction for resizing the stage or changing the settings so that the published file shows all the content without the need to resize the window?
I'm working on an interactive CD for a summer camp. What are my options for showing a PDF file within a Flash projector? AIR or a .NET wrapper are not options because we can't rely on any frameworks that may not be installed on the end-users' machine.
(We've used FlashPaper in the past, but it looks bad and its not supported anymore. What's about fscommand?)
EDIT: Reading a link posted in Jordan's question, I saw the possibility of embedding a web browser in the flash projector. Is there a way to embed a web browser or trigger a web browser (pointing to a particular local file) in a Flash Projector?
i'm trying to do an image gallery. initially i was not able to display the thumbnails stored in the array. instead it keep showing the same thumbnails. with that solve i'm facing another problem.. i'm keep getting an error Error #2044: Unhandled ioError:. text=Error #2124: Loaded file is an unknown type. when i click on the thumbnail to load the .txt file.
