I'm trying to stream live video for the first time. I've installed FMIS 3.5 without Apache 2.2. I'm confused on the RTMP/HTTP protocol usage,I can only have port 80 opened on our FMIS 3.5 box.

I'm setting up my fmis to deliver video through rtmp and http.I'm on a locked down network.What ports need to be open to allow people outside of the network to access the rtmp/http streams? I am correct to say only port 80 and 1935?
View 1 Repliesi have installed flash media server 3.5 ..windows vista and using FLASH 10right now in Flash Media Server page I am only able to play HTTP sample,RTMP file is not working , i check the sample folder >> and open HelloWorld >> that shows error :: Error #2044: Unhandled NetStatusEvent:. level=error, code=NetConnection.Connect.Failedat HelloWorld/connectHandler()what should i do now need ur help urgent
View 5 RepliesI want to make connection to FMS (flash media server) in my android application.
if there is any way to get connected to FMS via RTMP.
I have this streaming video player with an asyncErrorHandler function which isn't working correctly.In Flash player 10 I get no errors, but in Flash player 9 I'll get a popup window with the error message that shows up in my output window when I test on my local machine.
Error #2044: Unhandled AsyncErrorEvent:. text=Error #2095: flash.net.NetConnection was unable to invoke callback onBWDone. error=ReferenceError: Error #1069: Property onBWDone not found on src.display.VideoClass and there is no default value.
I feel that I have my AsyncErrorEvent setup correctly however, but am unsure as to why I still get a massive error in my output window, here is the popup window and code below:My statusEventHandler function
// ā¼ --- Handle Status and Errors
function statusEventHandler(event:NetStatusEvent):void {
trace("connected is: "+ncConnection.connected);
trace("event.info.level: "+event.info.level);

i am new on steaming & flash server; when we try to use RTMP over HTTP the outside client gets the internal IP address of the FMS server instead of the NAT one or public IP address, how can we solve this.
View 1 RepliesI have read some forums posted in here and also searched the web extensively but cannot find a clear answer or get HTTP tunneling to work with Flash Media Server 3.
Q1: Can Flash Media Server 3 be configured for RTMP and HTTP tunneling to work? The reason I need to know if this will work is due to more and more clients are reporting that videos are not playing for them and I have determined that these clients are sitting behind a firewall that has port 1935 blocked. So I would like to configure the FLV playback control to try to stream the file over RTMP and if that does not work, use HTTP.
Here is my asctionscript that I have tried to get this to work, but it does not. Some other notes are, the .FLV files live in this folder: D:AdobeFlash Media Server applicationsvodmedia The videos are recorded and then converted into .FLV files and loaded into this folder. The ultimate solution is I use a FLVPlayback control and pass the location and .FLV file name on the query string "Details.aspx?VIDEO=rtmp://216.203.12.15/vod/flv". I have pasted the object code * to show this example below the asctionscript.

I am not able to play video on mobile device which is .3gp container and H.263 / AMR_NB encoded. I just want to play my website videos in mobile device also just like[url]....I want to use RTMP and HTTP both. My requirement is as follows - Which codec and container will be best? Should I use FLV to play video on mobile device? RTSP required or can be use RTMP? Is NetStream and NetConnection methods different from Flash Player in Flash Lite Player? How to play 3gp video using RTMP stream ie.ns.play(mp4:mobilevideo.3gp, 0, -1, true) is it ok or any thing else required? For mobile browser and computer browser,can I use single player or I have to make different player for computer browser and mobile browser? It would be better if I can do it with single player for both mobile and computer browser. Sample code required for testing. If you can.I got below article in which they mention that we can play video 3gp container in mobile also.
View 2 RepliesI am connecting FMS over RTMP from a firewalled network where RTMP is blocked.Connecting to my FMS server from there takes (a too long) one minute before the Flash client switches from RTMP to encapsulated RTMP into HTTP.Is there any way to by pass this delay or is it a plug-in inner behavior that cannot be short-cut ?
View 3 RepliesI can get which part of file in bytes is loaded using videoDisplay component for RTMP protocol for VOD, I can get the current playing position using videoDisplay.playheadTime. But I want to know how many seconds of video are already loaded (not the length of bufferTime, which remains constant). i used videoDisplay.bytesLoaded when using RTMP it returns nothing ,if we uses HTTP it displays number of bytes loaded
The loaded size in bytes is not directly proportional to running time of the video, and while using rtmp im unable to get bytesLoaded too, how i can calculated the Video already loaded.
[code]This is my code that i have inserted into the first frame(?) of the fla file.When I use the swf in a html web page, i can hear the video but I can't see it and play skin cannot control the video.This is also a part of a security token code which i'm implementing on the client-side.

View 1 Repliesthe question is,a client which can use "rtmfp" to connect to a FMS server,and the connecting success,Whether Can not guarantee that the client can play the Multicast video? because the client may be behind a Special firewall So he may connect to the FMS server ,but can not use P2P to connect to the members those are in the group?
If the answer is "yes",Whether i should make a check function that make these client back to "RTMP"?
I installed the FMS 4.5 on a debian system already running an apache web server. I configured the httpd.conf as mentioned in d6093a7e2f8312a374a1bde-8000.html but when i call a streaming url e.g. http://<IP>/hls-live/livepkgr/_definst_/liveevent/livestream.m3u8 the request is still handled by the old apache, not by the FMS
View 9 Repliesvideo media player that supports rtmp protocol and has no branding? Maybe an open source general license? Simply to play flv files on a web page.
View 1 RepliesLet me preface this by saying: This is definitely a bug either with latest Adobe Flash Player or the streaming Media Server (in this case Real Helix):In the latest version of the Flash player (10.1.82.76) Code that worked previously in version 10.1.53.64 does not work now. This is basic code to connect to an RTMP server (Real Helix) using Netstream class. NOW the video does not even display and there is no error message . THIS ONLY OCCURS in a BROWSER . Also I am using swfobject to display the flash and I tried with latest version and the old 1.4.1 version.
private function init():void video = new Video(); NetConnection.defaultObjectEncoding = ObjectEncoding.AMF0; nc = new NetConnection(); nc.client = this;

I am developing an app using zinc 3.0, flash, as2 and flash media server.. When I broadcast and receive cam data everything is perfect but when streaming flv video nothing displays. I created a custom player with Linked Video Object which shows the video from stream server. The video works perfect if i run as a swf file. But when embedded inside the zinc exe video not displays in video object except buffering goes as it shows it playing..
View 2 RepliesI've freshly installed the FSM demo on a redhat linux box, and have everything working. From that start screen running on Local Host, I click the "Play video (HTTP)" and that video of a train shows up. Cool. But when I click the link above it ("Play Video (RTMP)") I get an error message: "Connection Error. press Play to try again." and no matter how many times I hit play, I get that same message. The Dynamic stream doesn't work either, and the Interactive sucessfully displays webcam feeds, but doesn't show the "Play Live Stream" button thing. Is there anything special you have to do to get the RTMP stuff working? Some special command or server you have to run?
Would firewalls intefere with things (I'm pretty sure there isn't one on the machine, but I'm flailing wildly here) or would permissions mess things up? I'm completely lost ^_^;; I guess I should also add that there doesn't seem to be any log files. I'm looking under the server install directory, and there isn't even a "log" folder. There isn't one under Apache, either. It confuses me. So far all I can find on the internet is instructions to look at the log files...but if they aren't there... Am I just looking in the wrong places, or are they just not being generated yet? I did a tcpdump with wireshark, and the web app IS pinging port 1935 (for RTMP), but the packets are failling the checksum and are refusing to be reassembled because of that. Is this making sense to ANYBODY?
I am using a flash website template (basically stripped of 95% of the code they provided, and just using their graphics) from [URL] I needed to add streaming video, and I elected to use PHP streaming found on www.flashcomguru.com; as modified by lance of courierwebcasts [URL].
The problem I have is that when I use the scrubber.swf to play a video, updating variables and addresses as appropriate, it works fine. However when I take it and recreate every element of the player in a movie on the timeline of my template site, everything but the time counter works fine. It plays fine, it scrubs fine, etc.; it just always displays 00:00/00:00. I am guessing it has to do with variable definition or somethingbut it is beyond me... any help?
Here is just the bit that I am pretty sure is the issue;
code: ns["onMetaData"] = function (obj) {
duration = obj.duration;
durationMinute = Math.floor(duration/60);

I have one .swf that loads a second one on level 2.level 2 then in turn loads variables from a text file .The problem is that it works locally, but refuses to work on the server. The urls are all local. This is such a simple procedure, I can't figure out what is wrong..... are there limitations doing this via server vs. locally? I never get any "file open" errors locally. I've spent 2 hours on this.... I'm just using a simple LoadVars similar to this example:
Code:
loadText = new LoadVars();
loadText.load("text3.txt");

I'm running FMS 3.5. My live streams and recorde streams work fine. Whenever I am in the Admin console though, nothing displays or reports. These screen shots are displaying the FMS server activity while several videos are being streamed around Europe:
View 1 RepliesI am trying to publish a video to an RTMP Server but it doesn't publish. It might be a pre-release bug. I am able to play a NetStream but not able to publish one. Is there a sandbox issue? I'm not sure. Because, the FMS RTMP Server will not let a client connect unless it has been downloaded from the same host as the server (something like a sandbox condition)
View 2 RepliesWhen a flash player is being hosted on https server, can I pull content to play on it from an http server. Would this work or give a mixed content warning or some other problem?
View 2 RepliesI'm trying to make a software which sends video and audio data to a flash media server by using RTMP protocol. Currently, my program can communicate with a flash media server correctly. RTMP specifications does not describe about the raw data in video/audio messages, so I muxed raw H.264 and AAC data into video/audio messages and sent to the server. The server seems to accept them, but a video player cannot playback the stream sending from the server. The player just says "Loading..." For a test purpose, I sniffed the network packets between Wirecast and the flash media server and ripped off only video and audio data. Then, I muxed those data into video/audio message and sent to the flash media server. In this case, the video player connected to the server can playback the stream correctly.
I checked the stream sent from Wirecast, the stream seems not to be H.264 raw data because those data are not started from 0x17 instead of H.264 start code. With those situation, I am wondering what kind of container format I should use for H.264/AAC data to the flash media server.
I am developing an application in Flash that runs locally and it uses FMS 4.01, locally. I have been using adobe FMS 4.01 for months with no problem. Today I cannot connect to my server and I cannot even play the sample video on the Flash Media Server Start Screen. The sample video for the http plays after I changed the permissions for flash, but rtmp does not play. I have reinstalled the server; 3.5, 4.0 and 4.01, none of them will connect to rtmp. I receive this error on the flash media server start screen that says "the connection timed out".
View 1 RepliesQuick question - I have the following setup:
(1) An ec2 instance with an SWF on it - this SWF plays streaming video - i.e. is a video player like JWPlayer
(2) A streaming video distribution set up via Cloudfront
If I stream the the video via RTMP from Cloudfront to the SWF (which is on ec2) - would I incur charges for data transfer into the server (i.e. for data being read by the SWF) and out of the server (i.e. for data being displayed by the SWF to the user) on account of streaming the video to users (assuming that data transfer into and out for the server is being charged for)?
I have created a Java program to Encrypt the FLV video. Here is what I am trying to do:
1. I have encrypted first 100K of the FLV video.
2. I have created a Flash player to play the FLV file.
3. At the load of player, player sends a request to Java server for the location of the video.
4. Java returns the HTTP path of the encrypted FLV to the player.
Now here is what I want to do:
1. As soon as first 100K of video is loaded I want to send it to java code for decryption.
2. While the decryption happens I want to continue downloading the video in Flash.
3. Once I receive the first 100K of decrypted video I want to replace the first 100K of buffered video and start playing the video.
today I install fms3.5 on my pc.
1)I can use rtmp://localhost/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v , it works ok. But when I use rtmp://192.168.8.3/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v, I got Netconnect.connection.rejected. 192.168.8.3 is my fms server IP.
2)When I set fms use port 1935 and 80, rtmp://192.168.8.3/vod/mp4:sample2_1000kbps.f4v works ok on other pc. But using wireshark(Wireshark is a network protocol analyzer for Unix and Windows.) I found , the flash player connect 1935 port at first, it send "connect",the server replay "connection.rejected" and "no scope "vod" on this server". Than it connect to 80 port, so I see the video is not send throw 1935 port with rtmp, but throw 80 port with rtmpt. Why? How can I see video throw rtmp?
