I have 36 images in a movie clip. Inside of that movie clip there are 36 other movie clips containing one separate image. I have figured out how to click on them and add it to the stage. But I can figure out how to get them to remove when another image is clicked. (ex. I click on image 1 it will appear on stage but when I click image 2 it show image 2 on top of image 1.) the thing is I don't want to have to click on the images in order. If any image is clicked the one showing on stage will automatically disappear.

Ive just finished the foundations on my flash site.. each button directs to each area etc etc.The way I have structured my buttons is as follow,[code]so basically if I click on a button Im not at already, the elements from the current section are removed from the stage and im directed to the new section.This works fine for simple objects like shapes and text but some of my sections have custom scrollers and functions and this is where I've run into some errors.If I remove from stage and set to null like I've been doing, everything still works fine, but my output window complains off null object references ? If I remove from the stage but dont set to null my functions stop working and I get an error stating the displayobject must be a child of the caller ?

I've managed to get the services link to do what I'm after but that is because it is positioned straight after the opening animation in the timeline - that is to have the banner fade out and the bottom line drop down to allow room for the content. From the home page I want each of the links, when clicked, to fade out the banner and drop the banner line down......THEN.......if home is clicked from any of the other pages I want the banner line to move back up and the banner to resume (in my case this is frame 279)

View 6 RepliesI have created a small image gallery for use in a CBT Program.What I am looking to do is, each image in the slide when clicked needs to go to a separate html page.I currently have it working as far as being able to execute a single External Call to go to a HTML Page, but it is working for the entire gallery not individual pictures.I am thinking of separating the way the MC are loading into the container, then tying External Calls Specific to the individual clips.

I am testing a FLASH animation ad that has links to a website.When I click on the links, it opens firefox but it doesn't go to the link!I have added the links and the file names in the Adobe Flash Settings Manager, restarted several times, restarted in Safe Mode and it still does not work!I cannot find any information on this. My coworker also tried it and it does not work for him on IE on Windows.HOWEVER, If I have SAFARI open it works fine, and If I drag and drop the .swf file into either browser and then click on the links it goes to the web page.
View 3 Repliesi'm trying to build a flash site and ran into a problem... i have a gallery page with a bunch of page numbers at the top. when you click on one, a movieclip loads of some images coming in.so the problem i'm having is that i made a little animation for when you roll the mouse over the page number (they scale up when the mouse is over, scale back when the cursor moves away)... what it's doing is when you roll over, it goes to a certain frame in the timeline and plays that animation.that's all working cool, but i need it to not do that once it's clicked on. so basically when you actually click on a page number, the over script should stop until you go to another page... here's the code i've written,

And i want to disable home when it is click and cannot clicked it until the user click another button first. means if a visitor is at home page then home navigation is disabled, and all other are active, and when they click at aboutus button then the pages goes to the about us page and the about us button is disabled and other get active. View 6 RepliesI've got about 6 buttons laid out, one on top of the other in a list format. In their normal state the buttons are grey in colour, when I rollover them, the buttons flash and turn to orange. Now, what I need to happen is this: I want the buttons to stay orange once clicked and only roll out back to grey when the user has clicked on another button in the list. I've been told that the best way to do this is via adding a listener, however I am a little unsure as to how to go about this. I've checked the flash help file and have a basic understanding of how listeners work...but can't really wrap my head around applying it to this situation. Perhaps I will need to have all the buttons as separate broadcasters?

The problem is the movie seems working when there is a alert on, without at least one alert msg, the code does not work, I am sure you people can solve, I can see that the following code works well in both Mozilla and IE, but only if the alert is ON, if I put it off, then the code does not work. When i zoom into the page then move around the edge of the page can be moved past the edge of the browser window showing the static page which appears at the start of the document. Is it possible to use actionscript to stop the page being dragged past a certain point so the static page is not seen? On the example below the static page is white so it does not pose too much of a problem however im using the static page as a sort of instruction page and it looks a bit rubbish if the user drags a page past the edge of the view window and see's the original page. Per the API reference [URL] the page settings are readonly. How can I print something bigger than the default page size? Is it doable in AS2 or AS3?
