ActionScript 3.0 :: Save Flash Array To Xml Then Bring It Back Into It?

Oct 11, 2009

How can I save information created by an array in flash to an XML file and then bring it back info another flash movie?

THe basic idea of what I want to do is have a bunch of checkboxes that when ticked add an item to an array the array can then be saved and I can pick up the information to be used in another part of the site.

IDE :: Bring To Front /send To Back

Mar 5, 2008

I've developed a website and on the home page there is a series of css/ javascript dropdown hyperlinks. Some of these hyperlinks display a popup menu of further links on mousemover. Immediately below the hyperlinks is a small flash movie.

The problem is, when you mouseover the links and it displays the popup links, the flash movie appears OVER the drop links.

Is there a way I can either send the flash movie to the back using some kind of 'send to back' option like there is in dreamweaver? Surely I don't have to restructure my page to allow for this?

ActionScript 2.0 :: [F8] Bring A MC To Front, Then Back To Original Position?

Jan 15, 2009

Is there any way to make a clicked movie clip go to front, and then when released, go back to it's original position?

I've been reading about swapDepths and a few functions that allow to bring to front the MC, but nothing to return them to their original positions between the layers.

Can this be done? Or is it any way to make it look as it?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Drag And Drop Function - Bring Shape Back To Origin?

Jun 24, 2010

I have a relatively simple drag and drop function. When the target is hit, the shape stays on it. Otherwise, it goes back to its original place.

ActionScript Code:
square_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, pickUp);
square_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, dropIt);
function pickUp(event:MouseEvent):void {
event.target.startDrag(true);
event.target.parent.addChild(event.target);
[Code] .....

The slide function is supposed to bring the shape back to its origin (passx and passy are the coordinates), through an Enterframe event. It works fine, but it only works once. And if I drop the shape, if I pick it up again, it's impossible to "cancel" this action (which means the shape keeps going back to the origin). I tried removeEventListener but no luck.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Load Swfs From Array Back-to-back?

May 28, 2010

I am working on a having external swfs get loaded into the main swf one by one from an array.I can get the first one to load, but it just keeps on playing the first item in the array over and over, instead of loading the next movie. I have a container on my stage, cleverly named "container" and I am using AS2 and loadMovie.

I am guessing my conditon on my if statement is off, but I am not sure how to tell the onEnterFrame to check the currentframe of the loaded swf and not the container itself. I might be way off, but in my mind I feel like this mostly makes sense, but knowing Flash it is probably not nearly enough coding.I might also add this won't be running on the web, so I don't need to worry about preloading swfs since it will be running directly off a PC onto a screen in our office.Here is my code:

Code:
var myClips:Array = ["movie1.swf", "movie2.swf", "movie3.swf", "white_logo.swf"];
var i:Number = 0;
_root.container.onEnterFrame = function() {[code].....

Flash :: Pull The URLRequests Back Out Of The Array?

Feb 16, 2010

I have a bit of code here that pulls, at random, 50 images from a file and pushes them into an array. I now need to pull, at random, 350 times from the array. I'm using a timer in place of the for loop to grab the images from the array. My code works fine as long as I do not use an array and I loop the images straight from the file. But that's very slow and bad form. I think I can do everything except the .load of the array. I can't seem to make it work. I'm getting errors that say "#1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference" or "1067: Implicit coercion of a value of type Array to an unrelated type flash.net:URLRequest". I think I get the point of these messages, but I cannot seem to figure out how to pull the URLRequests back out of the array.

var imgLoader:Loader;
var imgSource:URLRequest;
var imgArrayer:Array = new Array();[code]......

I really just need to know what options I have for saving an array inside an swf to an xml file or text file in the same directory. Is this even possible.

When the user presses the Save button in the NavigatorContent the form and the children should be saved to the database by calling the server through BlazeDS:

The object that i pass to the accordion children is public and [Bindable] in the NavigatorContent and in the accordion children and is initially passed from the main DataGrid. May this be a problem relating to this issue?

ActionScript 1/2 :: Bring XML Into Flash Using A Variable

Dec 2, 2009

I have a movieclip (jobImage) which I'm loading an image (Image1, a subnode of Job1) into using XML. But I want to be able to click on any one of a series of buttons which will have that image replaced by a new image (eg. Button2 will load Image2, another subnode of Job1, Button3 will load Image3, etc.).So I have the selected button pass a number back to a variable called "_root.imageTarget". If Button2 was pressed, this would happen: _root. imageTarget = "2";This variable is then combined with the word "Image" to form a new variable (newImage)[code]
