I am having an issue with my swf files just showing up as a white background when embedded into dreamweaver. I am embedding them into a tabbed panel. The .swf files display fine when opened directly and viewed in web browser or flash player.[code]...
View 2 RepliesAfter turning my files to fla and creating swf I happy embedded them into an area in my Dreamweaver page. A grey space area appeared with a Flash icon. A command window open placing two files in a script folder and then I went to the browser (safari in this case) and there was my webpage with a white space where the Flash video should have been.
View 4 RepliesI tried all suggestions from the dreamweave forums and none worked.I am placing a CS4 swf movie into dreamweaver CS4 and when I preview in firefox I can't get rid of the 1 pixel white border.Have tried all settings, including setting the wmode parameters to transparentBorder set to 0, frame set to 'top', image set to top.If I change the background of the frame to blue for example, I get a 1 pixel blue line. I believe the problem is in dreamweaver.How do I fix this?

We are building a website and for some reason in the about us section every flash banner shows as a white box.

I have an Image object that gets resized to the containers size when the image loads.The images that it will load are dynamic in size so after resize I end up with a sliver of the image object's white background showing.How can I make the Image object not have a white background and be transparent.Parts of the PNG's have transparent parts but show up as white due to the white background of the object is it loaded into.

Using Flash CS4 trial I am trying to make a banner on one time line.I have 6 photos on one time line with a right to left motion tween, and I would like it to repeat it without the white space of the stage appearing inbetween instances.I have tried it with two time lines also, but to no avail.Basically I would like it to repeat picture 1 again from the right side of the stage directly after picture 6 has left the left hand side of the stage without white space.
Also have problems selecting the bez curve, to drag a motion, so far I find if I create a key frame at the end of the timeline and click a couple of times on the mouse (not consistant) then hold the left mouse button down for a few seconds it some times turns the white circle green, then I can move it? but as I said not very consistant.
I have a tile list that loads images from a folder within the app.
When i load images with a transparent background it gives the image a white background is there any way to get the image to be transparent? [coded]...
I'm currently creating a slideshow, where I want to load all the images before starting that very slideshow. Is there a way to do this, without creating a bunch of movieClips and load every image into each movieClip, and then fade them out, depending on the state of time?
In other word, is there some sort of cache function in flash, that allows me to load all the images, before showing them?
PS. I'm loading the images through an XML file, just in case that should change the concept of coding.
Is there any way to show a list of files in a directory without the use of PHP or some other language? I'm working with a standalone desktop application. NOT a web-based application. I would like to have a list of file names that were originally created by the program itself show up in a "list box" or "dynamic text" area, if possible.
So for example, if I have two files called "fileA.txt" and "fileB.txt," then the list box or dynamic text box area should display "file A" and "fileB."

I've created a simple slideshow displaying images which are being loaded from a XML file. I wish to have a preloader which displays the % loaded , if possible, while it's preloading the images from the xml file.
I'd like to be able to click on each of the buttons and have the background color change and also have its color name loaded in the dynamic text field. E.g. Clicking the white square would change the background color to white and should also display the text ''white'' in the dynamic text box. I've sorted out the colour changing part with the following code:

View 11 RepliesI have been looking all over the place for what seems like should be a really easy thing to accomplish.I have a swf that is 1060x630px and I would like to center it on the page... at the moment it just sits in the far left corner of the screen when I export it to html. My knowledge of html is minimal but I am guessing that this needs to be done in dreamweaver.

I have a flash site (finally) but I need to host it through dreamweaver. I cant do it. I tried loading it thru the media option and it gave me an error. I have a lot riding on this site and Im at the last step only to find some new obstacle in my way.

Is it possible to create a preloader for an swf file, inside a div tag within a Dreamweaver document?. Take my friends site for exampe, which I suspect is made entirely in Flash: [URL] When you,click on any button inside "portfolio", a preloader symbol appears ,but the movie does not procede without the control of the red next and previous buttons at the bottom right corner. How is this done?.
I am reluctant to design everything in Flash, is that I have heard search engines such as Google have trouble indexing website's that are made entirely from Flash. Or am I wrong in thinking this?.
CS3 on a 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo Mac running OS X 10.5.8.I have been able to create my webpages and upload them to the host. They are viewable, linkable etc. Everything is working, but now I want to include some flash elements.I built a flash file in action script 3.0 and saved it in the files folder of Dreamweaver, I dragged and dropped the swf file into the design screen and saved it. I have uploaded the html file, the swf and fla files and the created js file to the host server, but the flash element does not appear on the page when I view it in the browser.

I can finally create a few basic animations and want to test them out in the dreamweaver envoirment. What is the simplest path to accomplishing this? For example if I open flash, create a simple animation, like a ball moving across the screen. If I save that SWF, what's the next step after opening dreamweaver. I just want to be able to test it the site with dreamweaver or see it "live".

View 6 RepliesI am having a nightmare time trying to get a flash 8 movie loading in a CS4 generated webpage. Basically the design is straight-forward enough. I have a master page which loads a swf into layer 10 (this is my custom "player skin" with a control button). This player swf loads a series of movies into layer 5 of the master in response to a users click. The problem is that the .swf works fine standalone, it works fine in a basic html document but when I embed it in my web page through dreamweaver only the master swf loads and it sits there like a bump on a log.

I am using Flash CS3 to design a site and wish to load image galleries in so as to keep the overall size of the site down, however I am using what I remember to have worked code wise:

The SWF is working perfectly on my computer but when I publish it using dreamweaver CS3 the movies don't load, they don't even show when in playback mode in DW.
i'm trying to publish my website that I made entirely in flash CS5. Everything works perfectly when I publish the site in Flash, then upload the files to my server. I created the site on my 23' monitor, and when I view it on that computer, everything looks perfect, and works. However, I viewed the site from my laptop, and the site gets cutoff and the browser doesn't create a scroll bar so you cannot see everything.
To remedy this, I tried to use Dreamweaver to publish my site. Once again, it worked great on my 23' monitor, no problems what so ever. Viewed on my laptop once again, and now the browser creates the scroll bar. GREAT! However, now the entire site is stretched for some reason (but only when viewing it on the laptop). It seems to be a problem in Dreamweaver since when I viewed the Flash Plublished file, it didn't stretch the site.
I made 2 websites. One in flash and one in dreamweaver (CSS) site. I want to design a front page which checks for correct flash player and if user does not has flash palyer or plug in then it will redirect the user to the html site without asking.
