ActionScript 3.0 :: Unload Gallery And Go To Another Keyframe

I need to go from one keyframe with a gallery, I need that gallery to unload and go to another keyframe called "contact" but when I do it always comes with
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.

In the 1st. gallery keyframe I have the following it's the button called: contact03_btn that needs to execute the function (see highlight)

I created a flash site and on the gallery page I load a gallery .swf and I want to be able to click on the "about" and "contact" buttons and have it go to there page and unload the gallery swf. This is the code I have on the gallery frame

There are 3 pics each in FASHION SPORTS and BEAUTY catergory and 10 and 5 in ENTERTAINMENT and COVERS respectively. All is ok but when i click on FASHION or other categories having less pics the pics from the earlier categories ( e.g. ENTERTAINMENT ) wont leave the stage. Also the unLoadGallery() function is giving an error message that ' This code is making flash to run slower. Would you like to stop this script?'.
I have a xml carousel gallery in AS2 that works great, except I want it to unload when I click a button that takes me to another frame or scene. Right now it just stays in the middle of the screen.

I have parameterised movie clips on the stage. By clicking each one, a thumbnail gallery, that is loaded from an xml file should apear. The problem is that if an xml file has less photos than the previous, the new apear, but the old also maintain. So how can I reset/unload the previous gallery, before the new one apears? [code]...
I have begun to build a vertical gallery. I have it set up to follow an xml document and it loads rather quickly. While the loading works, the unloading is not so hot. I can't figure out how to unload the container_mc which contains all the thumbnails. I intend to develop this page in as3 primarily so that I can adopt it to other projects. The arrangement is two vertical boxes on the right and left, a text box at the bottom in between the two vert boxes, and a fullscreen box in the center. The drawn squares are only being used as placeholders for real art right now.
As it stands, I can use either button to load the gallery, but when I click the next gallery it unloads everything, but it does not reload the next gallery. I want the buttons to load their respective galleries. I figure once I set up the structure for 2 galleries, I can make more. var Gal_Array1:Array = new Array(); Was my attempt at loading the thumbs into an array, and later clearing it but I don't think it works (I think it would only double the amount of thumbs?). How to properly load and unload the container_mc?
I have a simple flash that has 2 layers 2 images. one image is on the first frame and the other image is on the second keyframe. Actionscript starts on 1st keyframe. What I have it doing is loading frame one stop() reads the actionscript checks the date if the date is met it goes and stops on frame 2 and plays other image:
Everytime the flash refreshes it plays frame one then jumps to frame 2 if the date is met. How do I avoid playing frame one if the date is met what it's doing is playing the first image before the date change and a split second after it plays frame 2. (you see a hiccup)
i need the flash to "preload, check the actionscript before it loads if the date is met automataclly go to frame 2 avoiding frame one all together.

i am creating a game now this is complex but i have been told by my fellow actioncript co worker that its doable, What it is i have a game "Reaction Tester" and It is inside a car going along the road so its psudeo 3d and i have the "walls" and road sorted now i want a movie clip in the road to throw out random objects From a Movie clip, now i will call them from frame names, say..
frame 1-10 is a tween with a box coming down and then frame 11-20 is a cat and frame 21-30 is a hole in the road Etc i want it to call a random frame to frame, to play
i'm making a game and to score some extra performance im rendering every frame of every entity into an array of bitmapdata's the first time the frame is seen, and it works well, but its wasting alot of memory because we have alot of animations, and most of them are double framed at least, so more than half of the bitmaps could be ignored if there was a way to determine if a frame is a keyframe or not
When I place some codes in a keyframe, these codes are showing on all the following frames up till the next keyframe with codes. My question is, does Flash execute codes only in the keyframe or it execute whatever is in the frame regardless whether its a keyframe or not?
I have 2 keyframes on my timeline.The first keyframe has an input text field (instance name: inputTxt) and a button (instance name: btnTester).When the user clicks the button it takes them to the second keyframe where their text should be displayed in a dynamic text box (instance name: txtBox).I get a null value in keyframe 2.
I am working on a school project that requires me to load external .swf or .jpg files. I currently have all of the buttons working and are loading an external .swf file on to the screen. The problem I am having is that when I go from one button to the next the loaded .swf stays on the screen and the next .swf gets loaded on top of it. I know that I need to unload the file but I am not sure where to put the code for the unload or what code exactly to use. I would like when the button is pressed to unload the previous loaded .swf and load the new .swf without having a separate button to unload.
I'm trying to unload an external SWF on _root to load a new one instead. I've tried (almost) everything but can't figure it out... I get this error : "Error #1010: A term is undefined and has no properties."
What I want to do is to make a gallery based on the tutorial gallery here (thumbs), but I want the user to be able to choose different galleries from within the movie. I figured that I could make a loop to cycle through the galleries, then nest another loop inside it to cycle through the pics, captions and thumbs. While I wrote, I constantly tested the output with trace commands, but when I tried nesting the loop I lost all output.. I'm pretty new to both Flash and Actionscript, so if theres an obvious solution I havent been able to see it.. This is my temp XML file:
Im using a dock gallery fx from flash xml components. But for some reason when I preview in browser the dock gallery scales out of the swf area. This doesnt happen if i change the p[ublish setting to match movie. But if the publish setting is set to perscentage gallery scales.
i am trying to add extra images to the photo gallery attached. I would have thought it is easy and it seems so. I add an extra image to the gallery. I publish it. The html file shows the extra image in the gallery but the swf doesnt. driving me crazy, cant work it out?
I've made a gallery slideshow before but wasn't as intuitive looking back at it now and I want to start fresh on this new project. I would like to convert a jQuery lightbox style gallery into a flash XML based AS3 image gallery with categories. I don't want to code the FLA, I want separate AS files.
This is a school project for my website. I would use jQuery and I have more experience with it but this project needs a flash component. I'm just not sure where to start and looking for some advice on how and where I could find resources. I want it to be minimal as I can make it;
- 8 thumbnails to a "page/section" with more flowed into page 2 or 3 etc. (or a srcoller)
- a few buttons for categories
- images fading in full size with a description when hovered over and a close button
- preloader (simple bar)
Esentially something like this > http:[url].........works which is using http:[url].... for the thumbnails. That might be ambitious but I'd suffice with a simple fade effect.I've downloaded some galleries out there but most of the code is messy or outdated.http:[url]... this is alright, but all the code is done in the FLA. I might break it into AS files but it depends.
In my "actions" layer I have a function that loads a gallery of a external file called gallery.swf. The swf loads successfully but I cant remove that. The only way to remove is to call removeChild(mLoader.content); I noticed that the movies loads without addChild.
But sometimes also calling removeChild(mLoader.content) the content of mLoader is not removed and still appears in the stage.
I am currently using Flash CS4. Trying to do a very simple redirect via a password. What I want to do is whatever password they enter (variable defined as code) I want it to direct them to the keyframe. The below works if they enter hi (sometimes it seems to work sometimes not). The password "no" does not seem to work. I have attached simple fla based on the logic I am using.
I've been manually creating a slideshow with flash (I like my final product better than the auto-approaches), and have reached a sort of odd situation.When trying to insert a new keyfram at fram 1675 of my animation, instead of a new keyframe, I'm getting my last keyframe's run (from 1650) extended to here.Is there a per-layer keyframe limit?And is there an FAQ that would cover this (fairly obvious seeming) question, rather than posting?
Can I load a swf to a specific keyframe on browser refresh or if sent to another page on the site?Each page will have the same .swf header and I'd like to highlight or animate the header based on the new html page selected.
I'm working with Flash CS5 and a Wacom Intuos3 tablet. In my first time working with CS5, I set up my hotkeys on the tablet to what I normally have when I'm doing frame-by-frame animation in Flash. I have one button set to F6, which used to add a keyframe wherever my playhead was on the timeline. What I prefer to do is scrub to where I want the next frame using my scroll/strip and just hit the F6 button where I want a new keyframe. But in CS5, what's happening is it's not adding any keyframes at all, but instead moving my playhead back to the last keyframe I edited. What's going on? I can't even scroll to where I want and add a keyframe without physically clicking the frame itself and THEN pressing F6.
I am making a simple project ,a so called "quizz" .SO as every questions has wrong and true answers buttons I am wondering how do I go to the previous keyframe.Let me be more clear. I have this "screen" with a button that appears only when you click the "wrong answer" on a question,the screen has a button that will lead you to the menu to start a new game,but I realized that would be very ANNOYING ,because if we are at question 30 [we pretend] it would be very frustrating to start all over again.So I am wondering what code do I need to write to the Screen with the "start over" button that leads to menu to make it lead me to the question I Answered wrong. I want to say that I tried something like "on (release) { gotoAndPlay ("previous") ;} but didn`t work To be even more clear I will show you on this picture.
I'm using a handy-dandy script that allows me to scroll a masked movie clip with ease. I ran into an issue, however, when I wanted to scroll two different movie clip instances � each with their own separate scroll bar � in the same keyframe. I tried giving unique names to all of the elements in the second instance, but it hasn't worked. A non-functioning example of what I'm trying to accomplish is attached. [URL]
I am in the end of my development of a script that parses out large amounts of data from the timeline with AS3. This data is then used for an animation in corona. We have several of animations in the timeline, and we are splitting those by frame labels. That means that all objects are in place and often, there is no use of them and those movieclips is missing keyframes. My script parses out everything, but I just want the data thats has some value.
detect if a current frame in a layer is a keyframe or not? If not, get rid of data that we are not animating.
