ActionScript 3.0 :: Visualizing Multiple Audio Streams Within Flash
Feb 16, 2011
I'm currently working on a project which involves importing audio streams and visualising them within Flash. At the moment I have two files, one which can import all of the streams at once, continuously and another which visualises just one of the streams using an example animation I found which will be replaced at a later date. My problem is connecting the array to the visualisation so that all of the streams interact with it and affect the animation. Below is the code I have for the multiple streams with no visualisation file.
Code:
var stream_arr:Array = new Array(
"mtl2.liveatc.net/kbur",
"bos.liveatc.net/6b6",
"m1.liveatc.net/kbwi_belay",
"aus.liveatc.net/kccr",
"mso.liveatc.net/zob_cle",
[Code] .....
Note that I have removed the "http" from all stream addresses due to my low post count.
And here is the code I currently have for the file which can visualise only one stream, rather than the multiple I would like.
Code:
stop();
function goBack(evt):void {
gotoAndStop(1);
this.removeEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME,spectrum);
} var snd:Sound = new Sound();
[Code] .....
I have read in FMIS 4 "new features" that "absolute timecode" allows to switch audio tracks while playing a video (managing synch). Is there any exemple showing how to use this funtionnality (server config, flash player action script exemple)?
I need to merge multiple live audio streams into a single stream so that i can pass this stream as input to VOIP through a softphone.For this i tried the following approach:Created a new stream (str1) on FMS onAppStart and recorded the live streams (sent throgh microphone) in that new stream.
Below is the code : application.onAppStart = function() {
My server is streaming binary audio data (mostly mp3 files) to a client (a browser). This client stores the audio data in memory.
What I'm looking for is a flash audio player that I can input the binary audio data so that it can play the audio file.
Preferably, the flash client is merely a bridge to Javascript so that I can handle everything in Javascript and simply use Flash's audio features, but this is not a requirement.
is there any Java library out there that can help intercept video and audio streams being sent through the browser?
So for example, a video starts loading through a flash player using some Flash server, the java application would listen for video/audio stream and capture and write it to video on the disk.
I'm currently working on a University project which involves importing audio streams into an array within Flash using AS3. At the moment I have all of the feeds importing successfully but I need some help with the next step of assigning identifiers (i.e. names) to each array item. My plan is to link these assigned identifiers with a visualisation which will play accordingly when the stream is being imported. Below is the current code I have. The links for the audio streams have had to be removed due to legal reasons.
I am planning an implementation for a lecture capture solution for a local university. It is supposed to record all aspects of the lecture: the presenter will be recorded using videocamera + mic, his desktop activity is captured and optionally the whiteboard is captured as well (using Mimio). These input streams arrive (as video streams) to a computer that stores the recording on its harddisk. The file format for the recording should be able the hold multiple streams (Matroska for example).
The recording will be available from the uni's website. So at the client-side Flash seems a natural choice.
The player should display the different input sources into different rectangular regions of the player. One region displays the presenter, another region displays the desktop recording.
Is it possible to use a Matroska file as source for Flash streaming? If yes, how? If no, is there another container format more suitable for this? The FLV format can only hold one audio and one video file. Is it possible to have one Flash client receive multiple streams and diplay them in different regions of its own canvas?
I'm trying to play multiple video streams simultaneously. However, I cannot synchronize these videos to play at the same rate.
I have three 45-second videos in FLV format and I use flash.net.NetStream to play these videos. I call netstream.play() of these netstream at the same time (by using a for-loop). However, these videos are out-of-sync even all videos files are on my local machine.
For example, when the wall clock is at 10th second, the first video is at 7th second, the second video is at 10th second, and the last video is at 5th second.
I think it may be affected by different jitter delays when streaming. However, I still cannot find the way to solve this problem.
Here is my problem: We are broadcasting sportevents live to the internet via flash media encoder.At the event locations we mostly have just 2 mbit upstream. So at the moment we are streaming with about 1mbit rate.But we need also streams for mobile-devices and a stream for users without fast internet. So we want 2 more streams with lower-bitrates,but we can't get this through the 2mbit...I am looking for a solutiuon which can transcode about a 1mbit(and may be in the future a 1.5mbit) livestream in to two (or more)lower-bitrate streams.The solution should be scalable,because sometimes we have 7 events at one day on different locations,so there could be 7 input-streams.I've searched the net for hardware transcoders, but didn't find a stable solution and I've tested also transcoding with ffmpeg, but it seems to get problems with timing and key-frames for bitrate switching.
I have several flash clients that send live audio stream to the Red5 server. Is it possible to combine all this audio streams together so that other clients could subscribe only to one audio stream and listen live audio from all publishers?
Is it possible to mix several audio streams? I want to play several audio tracks simultaneously, but several factors that are at times, the audio tracks are out of sync, such as latency Sound.play method, the for loop, the spec of users PC, FLash Player version, operating system etc

I have rather large project that contains several swfs and flvs with audio. The project is published in Captivate (which renders a main swf file). After the preloader screen, a lot of the audio files start playing at once at the beginning of the presentation. I have tried inserting an swf (1st Captivate slide) with AS2.0 command "stopAllSounds". It works as intended and stops all the cacophony. But then, none of my audio plays throughout the 7 minute project. Does anyone know how I can restart the audio?
I am using a red5 server. I am doing a two way video conference using flex application. My current red5 server is storing both streams as different flv files.
now i have done some editing and have saved these edited files as one with video stream
I needed a personalized rss reader for this site i m building, but i m not familiar with Flash so i used an online tutorial. The resulting file plays nice when i preview it in Flash, but it wont return anything when i preview it in html or save it and open it as a file.The flash itself is made mainly of two white blocks. The first one shows a list of the news on the rss feed, if one of them is clicked, the second panel retrieves the info for that news article and previews it.As i said it works nice previewed on flash but not if saved in html nor uploaded to the server as part of a page.
import fl.managers.StyleManager; var logFormat:TextFormat = new TextFormat(); logFormat.font = "Myriad Pro";[code]......
Can Flash Media Server 3.5 do the following?. Can it take multiple live streams?. Is it possible to control the ip streams - by using API's in to the Media Servers?.
I am developing an application where I need musicians to play together and I want to have an audience listen to it. I have created my publisher clients and they can create the streams, but now I want to take those multiple streams and combine them so that you can hear the guitar, singer, etc. all together.
I am writing a Red5 application that provides 1-on-1 video chat to a Flash client over RTMP.
Unfortunately most tutorials I was able to find were sketchy at best and the documentation of Red5 itself tends to be vague when it comes to API concepts and intended usage.
In short, I am a bit stuck and looking for hints on Red5 ApplicationAdapter implementation. Gnarly details are as follows:
First of all, the connections come in two flavors: visitors and consultants. A visitor should be able to indicate which consultant it wishes to communicate with. A consultant simply gets connected to the requesting visitor as long as the consultant is not busy servicing another. Obviously, every RTMP connection has two-way traffic: both sending and receiving video. From the standpoint of the server, connections bring in a bunch of video streams that get their receiving endpoints assigned by request. Since several video conversations can be in progress simultaneously, the main task of the application is to handle the mapping of visitor streams to consultants and provide a list indicating each consultant's state (busy/available) via AMF.
So, all in all, I have a pretty good idea what I am aiming for but how to achieve it with Red5 is still a bit of a mystery.
What is the easiest way to establish the connection type (visitor/consultant)? Which API classes should be used to implement a persistent, globally accessible list of active connections for reporting the state of each consultant? How to switch receving endpoints dynamically when the goal is to connect a specific visitor to the selected consultant?
I have the streaming server 3.5.3. The sample player page for the dynamic streaming is here: [URL].click on the dynamic sample. pause and wait a few minutes for disconnect from the server. When you hit play, it starts from that spot and also starts from the beginning in the background audio while showing the buffering orange circle the whole time.
My users are students watching long lectures, they pause all the time. when they come back, it is a mess.
I am working on a video conferance projectthere will be a lecturer and an interpreter.interpreter will write the translated text simultaneously.what I am trying to is add vocal translation but I also want to keep the original audio is it possible to attach multiple audio to netStream or do I have to create another netStream for 2nd audio??
I am trying to embed audio players in a drop-down content tooltip. I will eventually have lots of these on a page.My problem is this:When I close the div the sound continues to playI can also make them play at the same time.I would like them to autostart when you open the div, but when I do that they both start at once before you've even activated the drop-down content. I would rather not do the whole site in flash.
Is it possible to play multiple sound files using a single sound object? (I've looked into this back when I was using Flash CS3, but I want to know if anything has changed.)
(I'm trying to make a playlist which will play music in the background of my SWF movie and then have a frame where users can change the song and the volume.)
I have a page that has a table with each row corresponding to an audio file. The last cell in each row embeds a simple flash audio player. The problem is that the flash file for the player is being downloaded for each row separately and as soon as rows go beyond 40-50 it crashes the browser.
I tried using different players (1pixelout, flash-mp3-player) and the problem is still there, so its not a player specific issue.
Is there any way to cache the player so that it is only downloaded once?
The following AS3 code is sometimes causing the audio to play multiple times, almost simultaneously like a crazy echo. It usually works ok with that URL but when I use a [URL]... it always freaks out. On rare occasions I think the issue has happened with local files even. I copied this code from somewhere else so I don't entirely understand it. Do you see a problem with this implementation or is Flash just crazy?
I want to build an android application that visualize some real time data , to get the position of objects and update it in real time and give me a simple animation . studied OpenGL ES for couple of days but it seems quite complicated but I dont think it fits to my needs
Is there a solution to have the background audio/music play across multiple page on a website, WITHOUT restarting on every page load.The website currently uses a frameset, but I'm looking for an alternative.
