I'm importing a series of images from an xml file, but for some reason they all get overriden by the last one. Here's a bare bones version of the code. I've been staring at this for a few hours now, hope you can make sense of it.

I want to have an swf load an image file in an image container within the swf from the querystring. 1. In the query string I'd like the extension of the image file to not show:
2. In the swf I might have more then one place where the same howdy.jpg loads, but in different sizes. Which method would keep the aspect ratio of original and resize to fit varying container sizes?

I have 9 movie clips which I want to load in random order, so that viewers who come to the webpage don't always see the same thing. I have them set up as 9 frames within another mc. I need EXCEPT it always displays the first one first, and then the rest in random order. I tried making the first frame empty, but then there was a big lag before it showed anything, because of the timer. Here's the script I used:

I have 3 flash movies: a.swf, b.swf and c.swf. And I create a main.swf to load those 3 movies orderly (from a to c).In the main.swf:- At frame 1, I put the script: loadMovie("a.swf","_root")- At frame 2, I did the similar job as with frame 1 with b.swf.Now the Flash Player only load the b.swf movie. There is no sign of a.swf to be loaded. Tho' I did unloadMovie a.swf before load this new one.

1st - I'm importing an image to stage and set the width and height to match the image. (everything is good, no problem) 2nd - I am using the FLVPlayback components build-in from Flash CS4. It does load the video and everything. (everything seems good) 3rd - Publish the video to my local drive (everything seems good) 4th - I could play the video from my local pc and it loads fine and fast 5th - Upload everthing from my local folder to the Web server, it does display the background image but not the video. It has a white blank screen. What is going on? I copy the exact folder from local to server. What have I missed? How could I make the video to load?
working on making a flash program that loads about 1000 jpegs and then plays them like a movie. Have all the buttons and stuff working but the time it takes for an image to load is so high that the movie can't be played at 30 fps. I've tried multiple ways of fixing this
using 1 scrollpane and changing its source ever 30 ms. This one is the worst but simplest. Flickers cause strobing and it is unwatchable.
used 2 scrollpanes that were duplicates of each other until I had to load. I would then make that one invisible, load it , then make it visible. Then load the background one. Works but same problem as the first at high speeds, just less severe. used 1 scrollpane per image . This works great, except that it fails miserably on any more than 100 of them due to the number of objects.Currently using action script 3, but will change if its not possible in that.
Also, I want to be able to zoom in and then scroll around the window hence the scrollpanes, but if that's not possible its a sacrifice I'm willing to make
I've got a flash file with a series of videos in it, what I'm trying to get happen is that when I press 1,2,3,7,8 or 9 it'll take the viewer to one of the six videos, corresponding to the button pressed. I've got no experience with AS2.

Rather than draw out all of the images described in the XML file, it draws out the last file as many times as there are keys in the XML array (in this case, it draws the last image three times). When I just add it as an image, without having to load them as bitmaps objects, it works fine, but then it won't let me adjust the width and the height of the images.

I understand how to do this remoteley via a url, buit not from a local file. I've read something about embedding, but I don't know what embedding means. im trying to make a website based on flash.and im trying to link flash to XML.And here is my problem.I have a layer called "Pages", and im working in one of the pages.I made a timeline, which also had few more pages (5 to be exact).I want to load 1 linked image (as in you click on the image and then load something) on each of the 5 layer based on XML File, and when its clicked it loads on a new page in the "MAIN" site. View 3 RepliesI wrote these functions which I use in conjunction to scale down some BitmapData and save it as a PNG. However, the scaledImage.draw(originalImage, scalingMatrix, null, null, null, true); line with smoothing set to true does not have the intended smoothing effect when I save the bitmap data as a PNG using the second function. The resulting image file is not antialiased at all. Is there anything I'm doing wrong here?

I am storing the co-ordinates in a text file. I am using MultiDimensional Array to store X,Y co-ordinates.
