how do you apply onclick events for an image of either JPG or PNG format pictures in actionscript 3
within one symbol name cookie, i double click it and went into the next layer. Then i insert 4 frames and each frame contain different pictures. So now i need to apply onclick events to click on it for it to score and lose points. first 2 pictures is scoring points pictures while the next 2 is losing points pictures.
as in follow a example online, they insert pictures within frames and run it then each time i click on it it score points...
I would like to listen to onclick events in my java script code for a flash application.My intent is to automate Flash components and if i can hook on to events like onclick

Do addCallBack function only works in HTML onClick events or i m missing something. I mean the function i wrote on javascript. When i put the function in some other place it never works. But when i add a button via html and give this buttons onclick the call back function it works

I have a text field where user can type and few controls to customize the text properties like: font, size, color etc.If a user has typed say "Hello World", the caretindex is next to d of World. I want that if now the user makes some changes to the cusomization properties like: changes font size, then the text appearing next is of the font size set and not that of d. How can I do that?

The only thing is that the images increase as the web browser is maximised. I would like it to decrease as the web browser is decreased, but to increase to a certain size 900 x 651, and stay that size no matter how big the browser is increased by. I have a image gallery slideshow, and when it loads an external image there is no smoothing applied. So being as this slideshow scales a image to the browsers window size, the image gets pixelated.Problem is, being as i did not make this slideshow myself, i dont know how to apply smoothing. And the AS code is very long, so i cant really paste it all on here.So i want to know if there is a way to force image smoothing on any image that is loaded in to the slideshow .swf? or any other way i can do it?This is with CS4 and publish settings are Flash 8 AS2.

I'm doing my daily homework at Flashkit, in order to see how other people do certain thint was just the other day when I downloaded the "Fade script image gallery" by Ben Durman, when I stepped into an unsusual? behaviour that I can't get to understand.It's very simple, in the gallery there are 10 pictures. Everytime you click in one number, the previous image fades out and the new image fades in. The AS code is very simple and easy to understand. However, why I can't possibly understand is that when I create a new layer with another image, the whole movie starts to statter, transitions are not smooth any longer and some transitions are not even properly executed. The more layers/pictures I add, the worse it all gets (15 pics is almost impossible to handle)Part of the original code which makes transition between pictures happen is this:

Right now I have a section of my code that looks like this.

The trace works fine and shows a random blend mode, but the blend mode isn't actually applied visibly. I apply the blend mode in the same way to an image loaded from the library, and it works perfectly. I don't know why this isn't working... Is there any way to have the blend mode actually apply?
I figured out a way around this problem. I just added a movie clip inside of "two" and loaded the image into that, still applying the blend mode to two.
I'm having two problems. First of all, the gallery loads all pictures at once. The more pictures in the XML file, the slower they all load. Secondly, I wanted the pictures to scroll in its _y coordinate, similar to Sugar Rhyme's website portfolio (see url]...).
I have a series of 10 jpg's. I want a a different image (1 of the 10) to load up in the home page every time someone starts up the web page what is the best way of doing this. Also what is the best format to use for an image in flash, png., pdf, or some other?
I am making a basic app but am not sure where to start. This is what I want to accomplish in 3 steps:
1. The user has an option to choose 1 of 6 images for the background. 2. The user uploads an image that meets requirements 3. The uploaded image is skewed/scaled and placed on top of the background image in the appropriate place.

I'm trying to apply a GlowFilter (border) to a image and then rotate+skew it. Unfortunately, doing this makes the filter look bad (jagged edges) even though the image itself is smooth. I've tried a few things, including using different filters (like the DropShadowFilter). Here's a rough example of what I'm doing...
