ActionScript 3.0 :: Delay Between Music And Main Movie Clip?
Nov 25, 2009
in my main timeline i have no movie clips. I have a jpeg called background that basically has all the moviestuff. however when i publish the file on the web i get a delay between the music and the movie. like almost 30 seconds. Im not quite sure how to fix this. I have a swf file that loads my main swf file. SWF file that loads the main swf is only a preloader. here is the code for my music... i think that my problem is that the preloader is accounting for the movie clip but not the music, hence the difference in timing.
Code:
var soundReq:URLRequest = new URLRequest("Matrix.mp3");
var sound:Sound = new Sound();
var soundControl:SoundChannel = new SoundChannel();[ code]..........
I've got a main timeline .swf file called "blank.swf" which contains nothing but two blank movie clips one called called "pproduct", the other called "ppalette". In the script frame of this main timeline I use the simple "Loader = new Loader();" method to load a URL of an .swf file into the "ppalette" movie clip. The "ppalette" movie clip contains several color chip buttons, each of which use the same Loader method above to load an external .swf into a clip. Here's what I want to do: let those color chip buttons, when the "blank.swf" file loads, be used to load an .swf movie into the "pproduct" clip on the main timeline. I'm wanting to be able to swap depths with various movie clips which will take out the movie which has the palette, but I want whatever that palette has loaded in the original "pproduct" clip to stay there.
Is it possible to load a movie clip with no delay? I have a flash project that loads multiple external swf's locally. This are actually different movie segments, like a clip for standing animation, fighting animation, defend animation, etc.. My problem is that, if i load another clip, let's say the fighting animation, it should be loaded instantly, i mean with no delay, as if it's part of the previous clip, because what happens is that when i load a specific clip there's a short delay of half-seconds before the clip loads. This is normal but is there any way on how can i load another clip as if it is part of the previous one?
Just finished building my photography portfolio www.tonerayphotography.co.uk in Flash CS3 using some Action script 2. When I first uploaded the site in Firefox 3.5 the menu buttons were `stuck` and there was a delay of about 30 secs before I could use them. Once I finally got use of the menu buttons I later returned to the site and it worked perfectly. Is this because the site was now in the cache of Firefox?
On my stage timeline there is one navigation movie clip holding aboutl 50 of my photos. Is this delay due the size of this movie clip trying to load?
I am attempting to add a movie clip to the stage when a button is triggered. When the user clicks the button the movie clip is added to the stage; it works fine, but the following problems occur:
1) The appearance of the movie clip is delayed.
2) The sound in the movie clip starts to play but the movie clip appears when the sound is finished.
Additional information: 1) The movie clip has the sound in the timeline. Here is the code:
Actionscript Code: //Buttons: Adds movie clip to stage.readtomeShortA1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, playShortAReadMe1);var playShortA1:ShortAReadMe1function..[code].....
2) However, I also want to know is keeping the sound in the timeline of the movieclip the most efficient way to use sound in the movieclip? Or is there better, more efficient way to do it?
I have found some code on the web that loads a picture from a folder into a movie clip, and cyle with fadeOut and fadeIn to the next picture by using left and right arrow. I have made some changes to this code by having the pictures cycle with a timer and I also added a group of 6 movie clips for a total of 7 with their own set of picture arrays. So far so good however I am trying to get the fadeOut and FadeIn with a small delay from each other but always in the same order. In other words I want to have clips 1 to 7 fadeOut with a small delay of maybe .5 sec. between each and same thing when the next picture fades in.
I am targeting a a movie clip. The problem is that all the syntax I have found for targetting clips looks like this: _root.sample_mc.sample2.mc. etc. The problem is, my target clip is in an swf that I've loaded into a container clip from my main timeline. So, essentially, I have a home.swf that loads menu.swf into a container called 'location'. In menu.swf, I have an MC called center, which contains the MC I am targetting called 'target'.
I am looking for a way to fade in a white movie clip over my main movie when a button is pressed.
(i.e. When you press a button, a white rectangle will fade in over all other layers and then fade out after a couple of seconds. This is to make it look like the different pages are fading in and out without having to build the transition over and over again.)
I have a flash banner that includes a movie clip of the logo being animated. I want the logo animation to only run at the beginning of the main "movie". Currently I have to find the length of the entire movie (for ex. 500 frames) then put a key frame in at the 500th frame of the logo movie clip. I know there has to be a correct way to do this...Do I add a frame name at the end of the main timeline and somehow in AS in the logo movie clip say "when you reach X goToAndPlay(1);"?
i'm trying to play several movie clips, one after the other from one main movie clip.i've got 8 movie clips, "m1.swf", "m2.swf", etc. "m8.swf", and one main movie clip, "play.swf".i've tried using loadMovie, but it only plays the last movie clip. this is what i've got. in the main movie clip, i've put a play button, and the actionscript i have in the button is:
I'm still a rookie in flash and I'm having a little bit of trouble with some actionscript. I've gotten as far as placing the buttons and assign the correct actionscript for them to work. Everything is working fine with the buttons activating the external .swf into a blank movie clip in the main movie. Ony thing is, I would like the external movie assigned to the first button to open once the movie is loaded.
I thought by using the same actionscript i used on the button {and removing the on(release) tag} and placing on the first frame of the main movie would help, but it doesn't.
I have my flash document set up in the following way: On the main timeline I have my buttons that I want to play movie clips embedded inside a movie clip on the main timeline. However, when I click each different button, the current movie clip stops playing and then the movie clip corresponding to the button plays.
I want them all to be able to play at once. So for example you push button 1 and the alien plays, but half way through you could click button 2 and the alien clip would keep playing, but also the helicopter clip would begin to play as well. Here is the code I have so far:
building_btn1.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, alien); building_btn2.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, helicopter); function helicopter(e:MouseEvent):void {[code]......
I'm trying to make a flash website that has clickable buttons that will play different movie clips. But I dont know how to make it to just play the movie clip with the button you click without playing all the movie clips on the main timeline.
How do I remove a movie clip from the main movie?I've tried setting the alpha, but technically it is still there.Removing and deleting movie clip only works if the movie clip is duplicated and I don't want the movie clip duplicated.
Where X is a number from 1-500 inside [holder] is a button that when pressed should load an image into new browser (does this fine) then move the main movie to it's next scene. this is when it fails. I have tried
I'm working on an animation where I have my "dog" fighting the evil vacuum cleaner. I got most of it to work the way I want it to.
1) I have movie clips entitled pepper_mc (where my dog is supposed to be walking), swirl (where a swirly-type symbol is supposed to spin over the dead vacuum's head), and vacuum_mc (where the evil vacuum is supposed to have a swinging arm (called vacuumarm_mc) that I created using the bone tool). When I add them to the stage and test them, the animations within the movie clips don't happen.
2) I have background music that I'd like to stop playing at the end of the animation, but I'm not sure how to do that. (using the stop(); actionscript doesn't help).Where am I going wrong? I'm using Flash Pro CS5.
Here's the file --> Pepper and the Vacuum of DOOM!
I am simply trying to tell my main timeline to go to the next frame when a movie clip reaches the end of its timeline (using AS3). Here is what I have which does not work.
I have a move clip with several buttons inside; their rollover seems fine.i am trying to get the buttons in the clip to address/go to the main movie timeline. Button names within the clip: c_btn, d_btn, etc. These are the symbols names; they have not been given unique instance names within the clip. The clip name is nav_all and its instance on the timeline is navall.mc.
I've created a movie clip symbol with it's own animation on its timeline. I've placed this symbol onto the first frame of the main timeline but when I test it, it doesn't play. There's no stop actions or anything on either timelines so I'm not sure why this is happening. I thought that the animation in a movie clip symbol will automatically play (i.e. if you test in a browser) once it's on the main timeline - is this right? Or am I doing something wrong. Maybe I need to tell it to play?
How would one on a specific frame inside a movie clip cause the main timeline to go to a certain frame label?
I know how to use gotoandstop(), but i can't seem to find a working, correct syntax variable that accesses the main timeline and not the movie clip's timeline.
I'm in the process of designing this site as a portfolio for my art and am in the process of creating and laying out the galleries. My idea was to create movie clip animated buttons that would react to the roll over stuff. I got that part to work the way I wanted it. But now, I can't seem to figure out how to put a "Gotoandplay" type of code on the buttons so that the timeline would jump to the appropriate frame and play. (I put an "on(release) gotoandplay" on it the way I would put it on a button but it never responds. I have a couple of buttons that work fine with a "geturl". so I thought a "gotoandplay" would work fine. If this can be figured out in a way that I can easily use it for all buttons with just the frame number needing alteration, that would be best. After you click the splashpage door jpg, there will be a piece of paper on the floor. That is a button which should trigger the animation that starts at frame 114. When clicked, the page lifts up and spread open to two pages. But it never reacts
I have 12 movie clip buttons on the main page (3 rows of 4 buttons). When a button is pressed,it gives the answer to a question which remains visible. On this answer screen, there is another button to click for further information. I pointed to this button to go to another frame within the same movieclip (containing the further information). However, this "further information" shows up UNDERNEATH the 12 buttons, and you can't read it.
my main timeline i have an intro, then a main menu. from that main menu it goes to a movie clip, i want to create a 'back to main menu' button inside the movieclip that will return to a certain frame in the main timeline.
I am working with an iMAC running 10.6.8.I have created a flash file with only the main scene, which has a List button and a Home button. The List button has 20 links as a scroll list, each link installs a movie clip from the library. The problem I am having is the List button works fine until I add the Home button, then the Home button works fine, but the List button only works on the frame that the action is on. Each button is on it's own layer, and runs the whole length of the show, which is 220 frames. I have a stop label at each place a movie clip is to play.
If I remove the Home button from the main scene and put it into each movie clip, how do I tell the movie clip to go to the main scene frame 1?
I`m new here but as I`m working on my showcase for the university I experience a bit of a flash issues because of being noob What i can`t find out is what script to use so i can make a "back" button in a movie clip to load a designated frame (let`s say frame 5) from the main scene. I`ve tried this:
I have 7 buttons on the main stage that go to different parts of the main timeline, all of which have the same movie clip with 7 different frames. Right now it always goes to the first frame of the movie clip, but I need the second button to go to the second frame, and so on. I was originally trying to have the button itself find a frame label inside the movie clip, but now I realize I probably need to attach something to the key frames of the main timeline that tells it to go to a specific part of the movie clip. The problem is I can't figure out how to address the movie clip from the main timeline. The book I started learning from had a short section on declaring movie clips, and I cobbled together this bit of code and put in on a key frame in the main timeline.
I'm pretty sure that's completely wrong, as it gives me the error: 1119: Access of possibly undefined property viewwork through a reference with static type flash.display:DisplayObject.
So how do I properly reference a movie clip from the main timeline? Also, I'm using an external .as file for most of my actions, but I'm sticking this directly on the frame because I haven't even thought about trying to figure out how to target a specific frame from an external file. Is that going to cause problems?
