I have an image of a human body which needs to divided into Hexagonal Grid pattern and the hexagons should be highlighted on mouse rollover and also clicks. It will be time consuming if I make these hexagons manually coz they will around 1000 in numbers.
Also, I need to zoom the hexagons on clicks.

how can i create an array that pushes each link in it and removes the ;?

I often need to divide quantities in recipes. Normally, this is straightforward: I have an array of items to divide and a total, so I can do something like

However, this time I have been handed a curve ball: some of the items have a maximum amount they can be. For example, item A has a maximum amount of .25, item B is maximum of 1, the other items have no limits. So if the total amount is 3, and I am dividing it by 3 items I can't simply set each one's amount to 1 (as I normally would, as the code above does). I need to set the amount of A to .25 so there is still the .75 "left over" that I now need to apply evenly to the remaining items.
So that means the other 2 items B and C would be 1.375 each -- but, as I said above B also has a limit (of 1), so B would be 1 and C (no limits) would get the whole .75 remainder, and be 1.75. So A=.25, B= 1, C=1.75 for the total of 3. My question is, even conceptually, how would I approach a problem such as this in AS?

I am doing the following in actionscript in Coldfusion Flash Forms:
90 / 3.7
Gives me:
24.3243243243243
Whereas the calculator gives me:
24.32432432432432
Note the extra 2 at the end.
So my problem occurs when I am trying to get the original value of 90 by taking the 24.3243243243243 * 3.7 and then I get 89.9999999999 which is wrong.
Why is Actionscript truncating the value and how do I avoid this so I get the proper amount that the calculator gets?

I'm trying to do a transition that you've probably seen many times. Transitioning one image to another using a grid of squares where each square fades at a slightly different time.I've made a complex movie clip made up of several other movie clips with all the squares fading at the rate I'm looking at. When I just play the color squares it works fine, but the minute I turn that master movie clip into a mask for the image I loose the transition/fade completely--just an on off thing.

I have it working with 1 image, but can't get it to work with more. I'm not great with action scripts and there is only 1 frame in the timeline so I can't put a go to action at the end of the animation. I tried adding a second scene but then it just gave me a white screen when I tested the movie.I would like to have 6 images fading with the grid. How to get it to work? Using Flash MX. I have used an XML gallery tutorial from Republic of Code to get me started. Below is the for loop what I am struggling with at the moment is that the product images are not loading into the individual movie clips.Im new to AS3 so sorry if I am doing this all wrong.

I wanted to add some category buttons so far its going well with the new xml.
Only I can't figure out the switch between the category button.
When i click on cat 1 Btn everything loads fine then when i click on cat btn 2 instead of reloading and "throwing" cat1 content away cat 2 content loads behind cat1 content...I hope that made sense.....

I have just done using the tutorial (url.....) for creating a XML Grid Image Gallery in Flash for my portfolio.Since I created my website entirely with flash cs5, I have put the script in a new action layer on top of one of the pages.It worked fine when I just tested that page, but when I clicked into other pages, the gallery wouldn't go away, I tried to put "stop();" in front of my script but still didn't work, everything overlapped with each other.The following is my script

AdvancedGridListData's rowIndex property only gets me the row index of the renderer relative to the range of visible grid rows, i.e. when I scroll down the grid, a data item with an index greater than 0 gets the rpw index = 0.

I really like the thumbnail gallery for its simplicity and beauty. But I would like to ad or vertical scroller (I'm unable to find it here too, maybe I'm blind, just I'm more at the end of my seeking options) or a make a grid thumbnails, that will show 2 columns of thumbs and 5 pictures in each columns, then under the 2 columns i would like to ad a sort of arrow or button that if my gallery have more then 10 pictures it will go on the next thumbnail list. I'm not looking for any extra fading effects or special movements. Just would love to have a single thumbnail grid on side, with option to have lists of thumbnails by 10 if there is more then 10 pictures or so.

I have built a grid using an array and for loops and attach movieclips dynamically to that grid. What I want the moviclips to do is to look in the four spaces either side of itself i.e. up, down,left and right.I have managed to pull the grid coordinates out of the grid which enables me to tell the clip which grid space to look at but have been unable to successfully get the code to work.Here is my code:
