ActionScript 3.0 :: Ensure Sounds Do Not Get Loaded Before Preloader Starts

Feb 28, 2010

However when doing so it then has to load this sound file even before the preloader can display. One work around I've used before is to make a swf that just loads the entire second swf. This ensures that everything will be loaded at the start.However, if possible I would like to avoid this. I know that if i place the sounds on the stage (after frame 1) the preloader works fine, but at that point Im unsure how to access them within my as3 files.So if anyone knows how to ensure the sounds do not get loaded before the preloader starts and I am still able to control them via actionscript.

This works pretty well if the content is within the .swf, but when it is loaded externally it doesnt preload it at all. Does anyone know how I can adapt/improve this preloader? or somehow ensure that all the content being loaded externally is loaded before the transition plays?

AS3 :: Preloader Starts At 50%?

I have problems with creating a preloader in AS3. I have tried several tutorials but the problem remains... the preloader starts counting at 50% and is only shown after a few sec. I have removed all export in 1 frame from my instances.I have no sound. I would prefer not to load my main.swf into another swf, if there is another solution.

Actionscript 3 :: Flash Preloader Only Starts At 90%?

May 12, 2011

I'm working on a game in Flash CS5 / AS3 and I'm trying to get my preloader to work. At the moment, when I load the SWF file with 'simulate download', the file will load but my preloader won't show. The preloader does show for a moment when the loading is at around 90%.I have unchecked 'export to first frame' since that's what the Internet told me to do, but there are so many different tutorials for nearly every version of Flash/AS around that I'm rather confused; not sure how to fix this.My preloader code is as follows:

this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, loading);

ActionScript 1/2 :: Swf Movie Starts Before Preloader Is Finished?

Dec 31, 2009

I tried to implement a simple preloader for an existing swf movie. I've created a new flash document and added the Loader as well as a ProgressBar component. In the action script of the key frame 1, I implemented the following:

import mx.controls.ProgressBar;loader.contentPath = "myMovie.swf"; pBar.setStyle("themeColor", "0xF49417");pBar.setStyle("color","0x3D566F"); pBar.labelPlacement = "bottom"; pBar.label = "LOADING %3%%"pBar.scaleY = 150; pBar.conversion = 1024; pBar.source = loader; pBar.mode = "polled"; loader.load();

The problem is now that the movie starts playing (i.e. its sound) before the progress bar is completely finished. This usually happens around 80%. How can I avoid that the movie starts before the progress bar reaches 100%?

ActionScript 3.0 :: Remove A Preloader Animation Once The Video Starts Streaming

Feb 8, 2011

I am using the video component with AS3. I have an external flv which loads nicely...that's fine. Now I am looking for a way to remove a preloader animation once the video starts streaming. The preloader is just an animation without a status (percent) bar. In plain English the code would be: if flv file is streaming, fade preloader animation I am also noticing that the first frame of the video shows while it's loading...is there a way to change it so that nothing is seen until streaming? If worst comes to worst I can always make a mask.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Audio Of One Loaded Clip Continuously Starts?

Apr 11, 2008

I have a custom player that loads several swf files and plays them one at a time (like a slideshow). It uses a preloader class that loads these external clips into an array, then begins to play the first one. The user may navigate forward or back, or pause.The problem: one swf, meant to play toward the end of the show, has audio that starts automatically a few seconds after any slide startscontainer clip is used to hold and play each loaded clip in the array, one after the other - however, to restate, the problem slide has audio that starts for no apparent reason when any clip is played. The audio for the problem slide starts at the beginning of that slide, but, when playing other slides, it starts a few seconds after they begin.

ActionScript 2.0 :: Sounds Loaded Into Flash?

Apr 26, 2005

My project calls for a single swf that, sent a filename variable through the page in which it is embedded, will load a mp3 file and play it on demand. Whole process is called streaming. I got that down cold. But visualization! My client tells me that he wants visualization, like in Windows Media Player! Of course, I said, you can't expect something that graphically appealing, out of Flash. But I still must relate some kind of visual aspect to the sound imported, updated only via script.

In fact, I was told by this needy consumer that the little sound-listening console at Flashkit would be a perfect result. Either a bunch of bars, or a windows-media-player-esque wave scope. That's what I need, and I have no idea where it start with getting Flash to detect different qualities of the sound.

The only thing I could imagine would be user-set volume, balance, etc. but that would result in a box being resized by anything the user changes, so it's out of the question.

ActionScript 2.0 :: LoadSound Starts Fine, Then A Second Starts Replaying Again?

Apr 8, 2006

I've got a site that is using loadSound to play some mp3s and it works fine. however, the sound starts to stream, and then replays itself like a second later. my guess is that its playing faster than the load is going and when it gets to the point where it hasn't loaded enough, it starts to replay it, but i'm not sure that that is the exact problem. my code:

[Code]...

now, i tried making a playTrack function that i can call with setTimeout and i put that in the onLoad in place of track.start(), but that didn't work either (i was hoping to not start playing the track for 3 seconds to give it some time to buffer).

Flash :: Externally Loaded Sounds Echoes In Certain Browsers?

Nov 30, 2010

in Chrome on Mac and in Chrome, Opera and Safari on PC, it appears to be playing sounds twice, generating an unwanted echo-effect with a rather random delay(always under half a second though).

I have 2 swf-files that communictes through a LocalConnection, the main swf simply calls a function on the second swf and passing a url to an mp3-file as parameter. The second swf then loads the file and onComplete plays it.

This works perfectly on IE(that's a first) and Firefox on both mac and PC but echoes as mentioned above.

I even implemented a double-check to make sure a sound wouldn't play if a sound is already playing.

Some sample code:

var audio:Sound;
var isPlayingSound:Boolean = false;
var soundURL:String;

[Code].....
