View 2 RepliesI have flash where there is a link for song download. And, at the bottom of the flash I've a count, loaded thorugh flash vars which should increment everytime donload button is hit. Please let me know what approach should i take to do that. can i call a Java method on donload button which will insert a row in the table and and then get the count and render it to the count variable in my flash?
May be this extremely confusing. Here is a very similar example on how it is done. This is actually very similar to what i want to do. [URL] on this link there is count below which increments you hit the download button.
I've built a rather robust tooltip class recently that attaches and draws a single tooltip sprite to the root, then uses MOUSE_OVER to detect when it is over a tooltippable object, and shows the appropriate tooltip text. Basically I have 14 text boxes, each box draws its content from an external txt file. Next to each text box is a button. I want the button to be either visible=true or visible=false depending on weather or not the text box has content or is "undefined" Here is what I have so far, and it's not working:[code] I would like a FOR loop to just run through the variables and check to see if any of them are undefined. if it is, then make the correct send button invisible.

I am having a problem with my drop traget. I have the ability to drop and duplicate multiple objects on a stage. I have a clip set up (canvas) which is used for if someone drops objects onto this it duplicates the dragged clip.
However the problem I am having is that if someone tries to drop an element on top of an already drop/duplicated element, it wont duplicate the new clip. Its like it thinks that the dragged clip is not over the canvas.
Is there a SIP library to connect a flash application to a SIP server directly?(without passing from a rtmp media server)

Allmost everything that share web-pages have Flash on their pages, Not everybody in the world use Windows and not everybody in the world use Internet Explorer. I was very glad when Adobe say they will really start to support Linux with Flash 10 since the earlier version 8 and 9 was crap on Linux. But its still not good. Flash on Linux eat up almost all available memory og suck 90% CPU. If i diable Flash the i have no problems. This happens the same on different Linux distro and on different web-browsers. Are Adobe going to start to really support Linux or do Adobe just doesnt care? Even Microsoft have startet to support Silverlight on Linux, but it took several years for Adobe to think in these ways! Its better for us to know if Adobe want to support us or not. Then its easier for us to deside if we are going to support Adobe.

2) I have my text objects encapsulasted in a class so I do not believe I am able to do it like I have been suggested.
I'm using the following to remove a textFeild from the stage I then need to add this textField back to the stage at a later time....i tried using addChild the problem is the text that was in the text field prior to the removal is still in the textfield when i re add it......How do i remove the textfield and replace it with a fresh textfield at a later time?....using msgTa.text =""; is not an option.

I tried to rotate a textfield with the 3D rotation tool, but when you do this, the textfields gets blurry.And it seems like it's not a vector text anymore, because when you zoom in, it still is blurry.Is there a way to prevent that?
View 5 Repliesi would just like to ask why is the case that when i use embedfonts = true on a textfield, the textfield's text only resizes according to the textfield's height but not the textfield's width. meaning if i make the textfield's height bigger, the text also gets bigger in terms of height, but not width, can't the embedded font maintain aspect ratio according to the textfield height?
I'm only wondering about this because this is not the case when embedfonts= false
in as3 how do i get the text of a textfield to know when to line break according to the width of the textfield.
