I am currently making a game. The user drags back the fish and then lets go when it gets to the desired force and angle. If it hits the penguin it disappears however i want it to rebound off the iceberg so it can bounce off and hit the penguin. However it just disappears i've tried everything and i cant work it out.
I am trying to develop a billiards game, in which I require hit test for balls. I have developed the code given below for this purpose. However, I find that the hit test is not working properly.
I have a flash quiz game, written in AS2, a few years old and needs some updating. I need to include a print button for at the very end, so the user can print out their test scores. I've found one script for the PrintJob Class, but it hasn't worked so far. [highlight=Actionscript]
btn.onRelease = function(){ var pj = new PrintJob(); var success = pj.start();
[code]...
What's the problem with this script; and alternatively, is there another way to print the results?
I have this experiment with a Jeep in a small drivable area with a garage thing.What I wish to happen is that the hit test for the Jeep to be more accurate so when you are inside the garage the front or the rear of the **** jeep doesn't stick out half a mile or when you hit the edge wall it doesn't act off the **** centre/registration point.
I set up a hit-test test but with a square symbol and when you hit it, it is accurate because it doesn't use the jeeps centre/ registration point why can't I implement this on the jeep or can I, If so How? - Look at the .fla with the white squares.And also how would I implement it so that if the area was slightly bigger the background would move around the jeep. Like an art based rpg not tile based, or should I use tile because it is easier?t.
I have a Movie Clip and Im trying to do a hit test on it but i want it to test when the second object touches th eactualy object in the movie clip, not just enters inside of the blue outline.
When a movie clip is removed from the stage it's properties are still accessible including visible == true. How do I test to see if it is off the time line?
Is there a way to test collision with a child of an object?eg.
ActionScript Code: obj1.hitTestObject(obj2.childObj1) obj1 and obj2 are on the same level of hierarchy.
I am trying to test when an object collides with a particular location of another object so i made a 1x1 movieclip (childObj1) and placed it inside obj2 at that particular position.
I hava a button on the stage as instance name button.Inside the button objectd,IN the second layer of my button, I added a dynamic test with instance name dynamictest.When I add code to my first frame in the main stage time line, the program can not identfiy the dynamic text with instance name dynamictext.Should I say button.dynamictext.
I'm wondering if there is a method to do a hit test object between two movieclips from the same class. The movieclips are being spawned into the stage using a for loop.
Is it possible to if(item(event.currentTarget).hitTestObeject(item(thats not being selected at the moment?))) I'm doing a drag and drop game and am trying to not let the items stack above each other when dragged to the snapping slots on the stage. If not is there other methods avaliable?
i'm currently using hitTestObject and it kinda sucks, my object doesnt get very close the the second object but the game "thinks" it does. is there a better hit detection?
I'm trying to test a custom Flex 4 skinnable component, using the FlexUnit UIImpersonator class. If I run my tests from a FlashBuilder Spark only project everything works fine. If I try to test from a project with the mx component set on the classpath I get a "getElementIndex not available in non Flex 4 projects" error.Can I unit test spark components in FlexUnits visual test environment while still having the mx component set on the classpath?
UIImpersonator delegates it's method calls to a "testEnvironment".The implementation used for this "testEnvironment" is decided by the VisualTest EnvironmentBuilder class and the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class. If the FlexEnvironmentBuilder class can find the "mx.core.Container" on the classpath it returns a MX environment, else a Spark environment. Only the spark environment has valid implementations for Flex 4 relevant method calls on the UIImpersonator - like the addElement method.
My buttons only work when I click on them on the stage while having the "enable simple buttons" option on. They do not work if I try to "test movie," "test scene" and publish it to a SWF. Nothing responds whenever I am in these modes. I am using Adobe Flash Professional CS5 Actionscript 2.0.
i have a movie that has worked fine in past during Html test but ive been doing some dubugging using the flash test latly and it runs fine here but when i go back and try to test in Html mode no errors come just the movie never fully starts (starts up about as much as if there was an error).
I have two scenes in my flash file and in scene 1, first button takes you to frame 2 where movie clip is -works
on (release) { gotoAndStop("scene1",2); } second button takes you to frame 3
but on scene 2 that performs same function as scene 1, the first button
on(press){ gotoAndStop("scene2",2); }
instead of going to frame 2 goes to frame 3. and the second button goes correctly to frame 3.that happens when i test scene! when i test movie all buttons work properly.
In FlexUnit 1 it is possible to access the name of the currently-running test using the TestCase.getName() method because all tests subclass TestCase. In FlexUnit 4, however, there's no base class for tests; the tests are identified by annotations. So, how can I replicate the getName() functionality in FlexUnit 4?
I'm a programmer familiar with object oriented programming, with experience in C++, C# and the MS Visual Studio development environment.
I've been tasked to create a web based game using Flash CS4 and ActionScript3. I am new to Flash, ActionScript and game programming. I have never used previous versions of Flash or ActionScript.
The game will be a single player role playing game. The player will have the ability to create an avatar. The player will move the avatar from screen to screen based on button clicks or drag and drop onto objects in the current screen. Players must register, and player information will be stored in a database backend. Additonal data will be saved to the backend database during game play.The saved data will be based on player actions in various screens, and in some cases data entered in a form on a screen.
For a first pass a stick figure avatar and screens containing simple buttons and simple objects to drag the avatar to will be sufficient. I would like to store data in a database tracking date/time information, e.g. date/time each screen is entered/exited.
I am a student working on a project with flash. I am simply trying to make a flash game using Actionscript 3 in Adobe Flash CS5. Everything is working fine, i can walk and jump, but I want the game to restart if the Main character touches an object and dies (like spikes in a pit). I have a main menu in frame 1 and the first level on frame 2. The main character is called "player_mc" and the object that kills him is called "dies".
Code:
//The Code For The Character (Player_mc) import flash.events.KeyboardEvent; import flash.events.Event;
I am currently creating a game similar to cafe world, farmville etc (social game). Would like to know how could I make an object move in an isometric direction when my mouse move. For example, when I want to build a house, I click on the house build button, and when my mouse move, I want my house object (stored in the library) to be move together with my mouse in an isometric direction. To give you all a better impression of the solution i am looking for, click on this link for a sketch: [URL]. So I want something like only when my mouse move 20 units more than the original mouse position, then my house item should move to the next grid.
I would like to know how to save more than 1 score into the text file and not overwriting the previous score so that it can be displayed in the high score list...I'm not sure how to write the array and where to write itwrite a sample code of for example getting 3 scores, saving it and displaying it in the high score board ?
I am new to flash and im trying to make a game. Im stuck on hitTest. I have many black boxes falling down and I want the game to reset when the black boxes touch my red circle. I used this code for my boxes:
[AS] this.createEmptyMovieClip("canvas_mc",10); myInterval = setInterval(addbox1,500); function addbox1() { [Code] ..... My red circle is controlled by the mouse. The code for that is: [AS]onClipEvent (load) { startDrag(this, true); }[/AS]
What resources should I look at to learn how to create a very simple platform game, with a character who can simply jump on platforms and avoid enemies to reach the end of the level? I have made games like this with other languages but never flash.
