this Flash CS4 and Action Script.i am working on something which needs me to insert a vide file in the Action Script of a swf file?how can i do that?? (if the video file is not imported to Flash CS4, is the procedure different??)

View 1 RepliesI am not sure what is the difference between externally and dynamically loading pages, but I have created swf files for each of my pages and then a main page that those swfs get loaded into. The problem I am having is: I have transitions between my pages and my movie clip will animate when it is in the page swf, but not when it is in the main file.

View 0 Repliesbrand new to cs4. Created a short swf file with video clip, playback component under the clip, and small gray box around it. Plays fine locally. Copy swf, html, f4v to server and the gray box shows up and the player component shows up, but no video plays. Just have s white/green striped image running where the time indicator in the playback component shows up. Have earlier version of Flash running on server fine (created through 3rd-party). I've imported a Quicktime video clip into my scene. I want to slide this video clip in from off screen and have it stop at center stage using keyframes. When I use keyframes to move a video clip - the playback of the clip resets to it's first frame at every keyframe. Is it possible to move a rolling video clip using keyframes without altering the playback of the clip?

I have this actionscript on one layer and created the the movieMC and closeMC. I have then put movieMC on one layer and actionscript on another.However this does not work, where am I going wrong, is there another way to do this.

The map works with if I use the .html file in my original folder but all the paths are relative and I'm trying to make this work in an ASP.NET MVC project using visual studio. It's rather tough to explain the problem since I don't know what's wrong (no javascript or flash debugger).Here is the code that embeds the ammap:

Can I use addchild & cuepoints in a streamed video to
1. play an external moviclip/swf on top layer with a transparent background? (without affecting original timeline & background video playback)
2. play an external audioclip/mp3/swf that will be "inserted" into original timeline?(thus extending original timeline however long the external
audioclip is)
I make alot of videos and far from pro at AS3. My employer wants to be able to pause the video during production and insert comments at a specific frame. Can this be accomplished with que points or utilizing the progress bar somehow?

View 14 RepliesThe problem here is that I have made a simple loader (by following an online tutorial). Its called loader.swf. Now this works fine for the first main swf. But I want this loader to be called in every time an external swf is loaded.This is how my website works, home.swf is loaded first, called from the complete frame of the loader. Now within home.swf there are three buttons, which load separate external swfs each.For example when you click on about button, it loads about.swf. Now I want to call the loader here, as the swf is heavy, but where do I insert the code and how do I link it to the loader??? The clip loops which is normal, I want to add a stop action to stop the loop.I have three layers; text, divider_bar, and actions. On the actions layer I placed stop(); on the last frame. This stops the movie clip just fine. But if I rewind and play it again the movie clips stays on the last frame and wont restart. I'm using Action script 2 and have even tried using as 3 with out any luck.

I'm trying to set up a movie that allows me to flip through a two page brochure(double sided) like a book. I'm basically shirking the front page down and once its at zero, expanding the page that would exist on the back of that page. I can get this to work to open the flyer all the way to the back, but I can't get it to go the other way. When I try to trace the width of each object, it tells me they are undefined.
Am i running into trouble because I'm giving telling the clip CGInside2_MC directions early on inthe script, then again later?
