I am trying to insert code from Paypal that takes the user directly to the website's paypal account with all it's pay options and I have the html code from Paypal, but my entire site is in Flash. Is there a way to insert this code into a flash file?

The map works with if I use the .html file in my original folder but all the paths are relative and I'm trying to make this work in an ASP.NET MVC project using visual studio. It's rather tough to explain the problem since I don't know what's wrong (no javascript or flash debugger).Here is the code that embeds the ammap:

I need to execute some javascript string code from flash swf file using actionscript 3.
I read that it could be done by passing the javascript code to the parent html document , using externalinterface.call function. Then I assume it will be faster if I can declare functions in the javascript code in the HTML document in the first use of externalinterface.call funtion ; if flash code calls the javascript code repeatedly. So let me ask you how to do that. For details , any javascript to be loaded is unknown in design time and I can not prepare a javascript file to be loaded.
I have a menu bar which has several submenu items. The homepage contains a flash animation which is located under the menu bar. When the submenu items are over the flash file, the flash file will be displayed over the menu bar. I tried with z-index, but it won't work.

However, when I import the swf file into the library and drag it onto the frame (and insert the stop(); command onto the frame action to stop it playing the whole movie), the SWF file plays constantly, ignoring all the actionscript and button commands in the game SWF file.When I try inserting it using the Window component, the game SWF refuses to play at all - it just stops (clicking buttons in the game work, but it goes-to-and-stops instead of go-to-and-play like it's supposed to do).When the game SWF is played by itself (by just double-clicking to open it from Windows Explorer or embedding it in a web page), it works fine.

However, if I try to put the cursor in one of the second .swf textbox movie, it doesn't work. The focus stays on the object that was calling it.
Also, I want this movie to be non modal so anyone can go back in forth between both application.
I am having a nightmare using CSS to style HTML within a dynamic textfield in my flash doc. From what i now understand after much trial and error and reading online, CSS doesn't even work properly in flash even for the tags that it does understand (which are few and far between anyway). For some reason my layout is getting completely screwed up in certain scenarios (predominantly when there are images present too) when i hover over links (which are styled in an external CSS file). If i remove the external CSS styling (which only contains the following simple code):
a:link {text-decoration: none;}
a:active {text-decoration: none;}
a:visited {text-decoration: none;}[code]....
Then everything works fine (but no links are underlined as standard or on hover). Does anyone know of any way to style the links without using an external CSS file (all i want to do is have no underline as standard and then underline them on hover). As this is from user input into a text editor I cannot place these links manually on the page in flash as they could be anywhere, I need a way of parsing the HTML and then displaying it accordingly.
Is it possible to dynamically load a flex component, compiled as a swf file into a .fla file. Originally, this flex component can be loaded as a standalone flex application with parameters to connect to the appropriate server. But now a customer of mine wants to integrate this flex component (originally inserted in a flex application) in a custom flash application, thus in .fla file using Adobe Flash CS4.

I'm trying to develope a texteditor for my websites in As3, but I'm facing a issue, I can make my selected text bold, italic, untherline etc, I can insert a link, to an email, per example, but if I try to insert more than one email link, my textarea looses all previously inserted bolds, italics, etc, even all the line breacks are gone.

I'm trying to create text using html so I could format it in html.So I created a textbox, gave it an instance name, selected "Dynamic Text" and clicked "Render text as html".When I click F9 (to get to the Actions Panel) to insert my html code, I get the message "Current selection can't have actions applied to it".How do I insert html into the Actions Panel to format text?

View 3 RepliesI wrote an flash actionscript 3.0 movie that needs to use netconnection and netstream for streaming. When I test the movie through flash ide the movie connects alright.But when I insert the swf in html and view from firefox, chrome or other browser NetConnection.connect() does not work. Movie sort of hangs at the moment NetConnection.connect is called(). The function assigned to NetStatusEvent is not called and no command after that moment is carried out.It only occurs when viewed through web browser but when it is tested in flash ide it works alright.

Let me give the context first. A user opens a local html file which has a reference to a network url of an swf file to embed.
(1) If the embed swf requests a local image file , will Flash allow the request?
(
2) If the embed swf requests an image file on a non local url other than one of the swf file, will Flash check a crossdomain.xml file on the url?
The problem here is that I have made a simple loader (by following an online tutorial). Its called loader.swf. Now this works fine for the first main swf. But I want this loader to be called in every time an external swf is loaded.This is how my website works, home.swf is loaded first, called from the complete frame of the loader. Now within home.swf there are three buttons, which load separate external swfs each.For example when you click on about button, it loads about.swf. Now I want to call the loader here, as the swf is heavy, but where do I insert the code and how do I link it to the loader??? I know I may be missing something very basic, but any help will be appreciated.
View 1 RepliesWhen I use swfobject (or, for that matter, publish from Flash)...if my HTML file is in the same folder as my Flash .swf (called "bin")...the flash file displays as a blank white page. I can tell the .swf is on the page, because when I right-click I see the flash context menu...however, the swf is blank. So the path isn't written incorrectly.If I move the HTML file inside the "bin" folder and change the path from "bin/myFile.swf" to "myFile.swf" everything works again...what gives?I think it might have something to do with using the Loader class...I am using loaders to loader external .jpeg files. But I don't know what to do about this other than to keep my HTML files in my "bin" folder which is a bit of a pain.

If I am intruding here with a silly beginner questions I apologize. I am new to Flash. I have purchased a dynamic flash intro sort of like this url..It came with the full package including source files and but also simple editing through an xml file. I have the video as I want it but want to put it as an introduction for a full video (in AVI or .FLA format).How can I export it as a video file without the need of anything else such as the xml?
