Dec 2, 2008We're using a content management system and client wants to upload videos. These videos will be for advertisers or directory listings. The videos will be converted on the fly to flv. Using flash8 flv component. Depending on the URL, I need the swf to access the correct video from a dynamically created xml file. I'm able to get the swf to recognize the current URL, and I put the URL into a variable called pageURL. Based on this URL, I need the swf to send this to the xml, with php - it will determine what video to get from database - based on the URL sent. I then need the swf file to play the correct video from the xml file.

Sep 17, 2011Has anyone seen a Flash video player out there that will load and play two videos at the same time, such as for comparing videos? A potential client is looking for something along the lines of this. I've not been able to locate anything out there,and I'm wondering if there's a usability reason for this...Obviously, you wouldn't want the audio playing for both at the same time, and the bandwidth issue for something like this might be a concern too. My feeling is that you wouldn't want to restrict a user to just playing both videos at once, but give them the option to play them separately or at the same time, with controls for each audio and playback.

While only one such clip will be playing at any given time, I'd like put them all at the application's fingertips as part of the initial preloading process before launching into it. Jan 24, 2010I have a flash site that I'm working with that has an xml photo gallery as one of it's menu items. the photo gallery has three pages, all three containing thumbnail images that once clicked, load the larger image. The larger image dissolves in covering the page with the image. Once you click the larger image it dissolves out returning you to the gallery.
What I want to to do is to change the first page of this gallery to a video gallery, or player, leaving the other two galleries as image galleries. I tried simply replacing the images listed in the xml document to flv files and the flv file does not load. I simply want to know what it is I need to do in order to change this one page so that I can embed videos on it.
I've attached the Action script that loads the xml gallery in .txt format

Jul 19, 2005What I want to do is to make a gallery based on the tutorial gallery here (thumbs), but I want the user to be able to choose different galleries from within the movie. I figured that I could make a loop to cycle through the galleries, then nest another loop inside it to cycle through the pics, captions and thumbs. While I wrote, I constantly tested the output with trace commands, but when I tried nesting the loop I lost all output.. I'm pretty new to both Flash and Actionscript, so if theres an obvious solution I havent been able to see it.. This is my temp XML file:

Swf - Flash Videos "Bleeding" Above Lightbox Video?
Jan 17, 2010Have a video in a lightbox on a page that has some other Flash content (banners, animation, etc. in SWFObject). I guess Flash has it's own window that's essentially on top of the document window (although I'm not sure I understand this in it's entirety). Tried setting wmode to transparent, and also tried several lightbox libraries (JQuery and also MooTools based, but NOT prototype yet). For now, we've resorted to temporarily opening in another tab which sucks!
