I am trying to play a video dynamically and make it clickable as like a link.[code]The Video player seems to appear and the video plays well too but there is a problem with the onClick Event which doesnt work no matter what i try. the click action never seems to work..what am i doing wrong here.
View 3 RepliesI have a small(220x123) Fla file with only one small FLV video file in it.Iwant to embed this video into an html and make it so that it acts likea button - when the user clicks, another html page is launched.Inside Flash I imported the FLV, I made an invisible button on a separatelayer (btn_cover_all) that covers the flv.On the Actions layer I putthe code below. After publishing and embedding the code into the html - the video plays and responds to mouse-over but the link doesn't work.How do I make this FLV act like a link or button that launches another html page?

how do I make 'link' clickable in the flash file?
I loaded a swf and placed it in a movieclip on the stage. When I try to make this image clickable nothing happens.

If I attach a listener to the movieClip on the stage it works fine but I can't seem to get the image inside of the clip to work.
i made a video player with the xml playlist , it's a video channel indeed, it's embed swf in html. but my boss would like me to put a link on the web, when user click the link, it would directly play the specific video inside the video channel. is it possible to do it without server side script but javascript?
View 1 RepliesI have a scenario that I get an string with html data, this is not just html data it's an email (outlook) saved as an html file and dropped in the string.Now this string needs to be formatted to an html document and should be a clickable link in a datagrid. So when I click on the link, the HTML document should pop-up and should gave me a nice HTML page that is readable for the normal users. I hope it's a bit clear what I want o_0. don't know where to start.

If I pass a direct link the mp3 file on the web server like http://example.com/audio.mp3 is all works fine.
The problem comes when I try to load an mp3 file that doesn't exist on the web server but is returned through a .php file: [URL]

I get the error "We are unable to connect to the content you've requested. We apologize for the inconvenience."
Has anyone successfully played a video or audio clip from a .php link? This might be more of a php question then as3.
The mp3 plays in the browser fine and through the Flash AS3 astra yahoo audio player component.
I would like to upgrade to from the old yahoo audio player to the Strobe Media Playback player.
I have a video player I am trying to simply pass information from a javascript link to tell it which video to play. javascript seems fine but when it trys to call the actionscript function it comes up as undefined can anyone post a simple example of the actionscript and javascript call?

I can not figure out for the life of me how to do this. Could someone please lay the steps out in a simple fashion for me. I have found a few tutorials online but none of them were for CS5.5 and none of them have all the steps for the version they are for.

View 3 RepliesI have a swf embedded into a site, and I want the swf to be clickable so when you click on it it goes to another page. I tried wrapping the whole flash object in tags, and that makes it clickable but the biggest problem I'm having is when you roll over it with the mouse the pointer icon doesn't come up, it just looks like the regular arrow. I tried playing with the css and doing cursor:pointer, but it still doesn't work. I can edit the .fla file and add some actionscript 2.0 to it, but I'm not sure what to add or where. I'd rather do it through html or css, but if I have to do it in flash that's ok too. Also, I have an invisible button over the whole thing called, MYbtn

When it is on autoplay, it plays the audio throughout the entire presentation. We want the video to start on click (hit the spacebar or return or anything).

I am fairly new to Actionscripting and brand new to this forum. I hate to start out desperate but I am. Let me set the stage: I created a 7 scene swf in CS3 Actionscript 2.0 and have integrated (under excruciating trials) a voiceover tract (mp3) that is perfectly timed. Now, I have been asked to put in controls so that viewers/listeners can STOP / REWIND / PLAY the swf. After numerous trys I finally got the following script to play the audio with the video:

I had to change the INSTANCE name to "adclicker" and not only have the symbol with that name!!!
- Choose the button -> Properties -> Instance name: "adclicker".
