HTML :: Making SWF Clickable Link With Pointer Icon

I have a swf embedded into a site, and I want the swf to be clickable so when you click on it it goes to another page. I tried wrapping the whole flash object in tags, and that makes it clickable but the biggest problem I'm having is when you roll over it with the mouse the pointer icon doesn't come up, it just looks like the regular arrow. I tried playing with the css and doing cursor:pointer, but it still doesn't work. I can edit the .fla file and add some actionscript 2.0 to it, but I'm not sure what to add or where. I'd rather do it through html or css, but if I have to do it in flash that's ok too. Also, I have an invisible button over the whole thing called, MYbtn

I have a scenario that I get an string with html data, this is not just html data it's an email (outlook) saved as an html file and dropped in the string.Now this string needs to be formatted to an html document and should be a clickable link in a datagrid. So when I click on the link, the HTML document should pop-up and should gave me a nice HTML page that is readable for the normal users. I hope it's a bit clear what I want o_0. don't know where to start.

I am working on an older Flash project created in CS3 ActionScript 2.0 How can I make the pointer cursor change to the hand when hover over a list item?_root.slidePanel.myList'myList' is the list. I have traced out the contents of the List MC and it has a child MC called 'content_mc'. I assumed this was the object containing all of my list items but the only members of this MC I can see (when tracing them out) are 'setRGB' and 'searchKey'.

I was sent an swf ad for my website and when I mouseover it I get the click hand symbol but when I click a page loads with an error saying that the page cannot be found.
I tried to place an a href tag around the entire swf file but I get the same error. Is there a way to fix this without having the flash file?

trying to bring in a list of people from an XMLdocument when a button is pressed, and once that list is broughtin, I want to make each name clickable so that a reader can findout more information about that person (the text of which wouldalso be from an XML document). The first part seems fairlystraightforward (see coding below; Im not sure if this isthe best way to do it, but it seems to work). Im stumped,though, about how to do the second part (make the names clickable).

I have got stuck on what seems to be a very simple task. I have an animated flash banner for the website, but I cannot make it clickable, so that visitors can click on any part of it, and be tranfered to another website page. I am quite new to Adobe Flash, I use CS4 to edit. I have tried making transparent rectangles,converting them to a Button type, inserting various codes, but all that I tried has no effect

I have clips that I create using createEmptyMovieClip, and I would like to make them clickable. For my specific needs, I found dropping an empty clip from the library doesn't accomplish my goals.note that I will be creating multiple clips, which will need their own function when clicking, mouse over and mouse out.
Here is the code that I use to to create the clip.

I am using MovieClipLoader(); to load a SWF on to the stage like this.
var myMCL = new MovieClipLoader();
myMCL.loadClip("swf/button1.swf","mcButton");
Now I want to make the loaded SWF clickable so I have added the following code:
mcButton.onRelease = function() {
trace("Hello World");
};
I thought that would work but it doesn't.

In AS2 I could just do onRelease() inside the class, and all the movies would be clickable, if the class extended a MC.
This is my AS3 code, not sure why it won't work. It's like nearly impossible to Google, spent like the last two hours doing it.

I have a small(220x123) Fla file with only one small FLV video file in it.Iwant to embed this video into an html and make it so that it acts likea button - when the user clicks, another html page is launched.Inside Flash I imported the FLV, I made an invisible button on a separatelayer (btn_cover_all) that covers the flv.On the Actions layer I putthe code below. After publishing and embedding the code into the html - the video plays and responds to mouse-over but the link doesn't work.How do I make this FLV act like a link or button that launches another html page?

I am trying to do panning of a movieclip I have two movieclips on stage. canvasPanel_mc and mask_mc. The former is the maskee for the mask (mask_mc). Inside mask_mc there is a movieclip dragCanvas_mc. The alpha of dragCanvas_mc is set to zero. This is code that I am using:

My client is complaining that the site that will be hosting her banner is refusing to add the forwarding link to her banner (that upon clicking will redirect to her website). I'd like to know how I can add this function to the Flash CS5 banner I have designed. Also, I have a clicktag on my banner if that makes a difference.

So, normally the mouse pointer is the arrow. When it's over something with an on(press) event or some such, it turns into a "pointing finger."
Is there any way to force it to change to some other icon? Specifically, I have a draggable movieclip that I'd like to control with a "grabbing hand" pointer, but Flash insists on making it a "pointing finger," which I feel is a little confusing to users. Is this possible at all?

I have an ArcGIS map created with Flex. The labels created dynamically are the towns on the map. We have some PDF files that have some information about the towns on the map.
Is there a way to make those town labels clickable so that they can display the PDF information on a new page?

My site in progress has some large graphical buttons that uses sIFR to display their headings. The structure looks like this:

I'm replacing the <h2> element with sIFR 3, revision 436. Everything works great until I activate sIFR. The font is replaced just fine, but the heading can no longer be clicked even though the rest of the button can. I tried to add another <a> inside the <h2> heading but that broke the whole layout since multiple <a> tags can't be nested. Is there a "correct" way to fix this or should I work around it with something ugly like a z-indexed clickable blank.gif on top of the whole thing? Or is there something else wrong that I've missed?

(buttons are in flash and content in asp bellow)When loceted on news.asp and you click... let's say service you go back to index.html with the flash main.swf, but the link has ALSO have to go to label (service) or frame 30 lets say...

I have created a webpage with a html menu and flash embedded underneath it.The problem is, the flash movie is in an index layer of -1 and the html menu needs to sit above it in index 1 for example.If the menu sits behind the flash the buttons are inactive, if the flash sits behind the html menu, its buttons are inactive.I have a div layer for the html menu and it not as high as the flash movie, but it doesn't make a difference, its seen as sitting behind and therefore the buttons don't work.
