I'm replacing the <h2> element with sIFR 3, revision 436. Everything works great until I activate sIFR. The font is replaced just fine, but the heading can no longer be clicked even though the rest of the button can. I tried to add another <a> inside the <h2> heading but that broke the whole layout since multiple <a> tags can't be nested. Is there a "correct" way to fix this or should I work around it with something ugly like a z-indexed clickable blank.gif on top of the whole thing? Or is there something else wrong that I've missed?
So I've looked this up in a few different places, and the only answer I've seen is "style the span.sIFR-alternate element". Problem is, if I apply any styles to that element that will actually have it appear & be placed correctly, it shows up alongside the sIFR text when FlashBlock isn't present (e.g. in Safari/IE) or is disabled. I'm trying to link a clip to a class, and it goes well until I try to access MovieClips or TextFields placed on the stage within that clip from code in the class. My code is below; there is a TextField called output_txt on the stage within this clip.

I have created an application using Flash CS3 and Actionscript 2.0 that uses an XML file to display employees names, photo, and job title. I have also implemented a search feature that allows users to search for names, etcWhen the user executes a search, the results populate a dynamic text field. I would like the users to be able to click on one of the results and have it pull up that persons corresponding photoAt the moment, users are only able to navigate through photos using a Next and Previous button.So the question is, how do I allow for individual elements in an array to be clickable links that bring up the data? I have a TileList with movie clips as elements. The MCs contain buttons, but I can't click on the buttons and other elements because TileList is "over" them. How to make buttons clickable? Also, I don't need highlighting in the TileList on rollover and click. How to remove this effect?
I have a scenario that I get an string with html data, this is not just html data it's an email (outlook) saved as an html file and dropped in the string.Now this string needs to be formatted to an html document and should be a clickable link in a datagrid. So when I click on the link, the HTML document should pop-up and should gave me a nice HTML page that is readable for the normal users. I hope it's a bit clear what I want o_0. don't know where to start.

I have Flash CS3. I have created a flash file. If I click on the SWF file I have no problems opening it It plays. It looks nice I'm the man.However, now when I try to publish it, the HTML file will not work. It says "windows cannot find this file,you have typed the location correctly".I am double clicking directly on the file and not typing anything, in fact I was considering checking on Ebay to see if I could upgrade my PC to have eyes.The feature has worked previously, which leads me to the conclusion that something else has changed. I have tried using the publish setting, I have also tried using Dreamweaver to embed the file, and have also tried manually inserting the necessary code after seeing some on a website.
what i am trying to achieve:i need to create a navigation MC that, when rolled over, opens up to reveal a few buttons. (and when rolled off closes the navigation MC - basically a "play backwards" MC)
I can't figure out how they create clickable buttons around the text that has associated changes. The button even shifts with the text so that it remains in the correct spot as I type in front of it.
I've been using this site for a while as I'm taking flash lessons in my college and right now I am building a portfolio website and am in need of help, so I've decided to come to you for some light. My problem is in the portfolio I'm creating in AS2 I have the photo and video galleries in form of a click'n'drag movie clip that slides sideways. So far, so good. However, when I add buttons to my mc (and that includes the ones in all my video players as well), they don't work at all. I think it has something to do with the function I'm using. Is there any solution for allowing buttons to be clickable? This is the code I'm using directly in the mc:
I am developing and interactive CD application for kids that consists in a menu and two chapters with animations and exercises. To select the chapter I have an "Accordion" style menu with draggable panels. In each chapter panel I have a button which upon being clicked should direct me to the chapters first frame. The problem is it doesn't.
I have a swf embedded into a site, and I want the swf to be clickable so when you click on it it goes to another page. I tried wrapping the whole flash object in tags, and that makes it clickable but the biggest problem I'm having is when you roll over it with the mouse the pointer icon doesn't come up, it just looks like the regular arrow. I tried playing with the css and doing cursor:pointer, but it still doesn't work. I can edit the .fla file and add some actionscript 2.0 to it, but I'm not sure what to add or where. I'd rather do it through html or css, but if I have to do it in flash that's ok too. Also, I have an invisible button over the whole thing called, MYbtn
everyone out there that is smarter than me. I have made this little prototype video player, and it isn't working. It'll eventually become a nice little player show videos from our summer camp for the last few years, but first I want to make it work in a basic stripped down version. There is a playback component with one of the skins right above the three buttons.

It runs fine when I test in in flash and even the .swf file runs fine alone, but when I put it in a .html file via Dreamweaver and in the published .html it doesn't run. What up?

I have created a webpage with a html menu and flash embedded underneath it.The problem is, the flash movie is in an index layer of -1 and the html menu needs to sit above it in index 1 for example.If the menu sits behind the flash the buttons are inactive, if the flash sits behind the html menu, its buttons are inactive.I have a div layer for the html menu and it not as high as the flash movie, but it doesn't make a difference, its seen as sitting behind and therefore the buttons don't work.
On the mxmlc command line, I can include paths to RSL files. I can choose to link these RSLs at runtime by setting

What are the inbuilt functions available in flex,actionscript that I can use to find a node with a specific name inside xml variable and what functions could help me manipulate it? Something like Xquery in SQL! I dont want to use for loop everytime I want to manipulate a xml variable. For example, if I want to "cut" node inside this xml and add another attribute to it named enabled pro grammatically. Or how could I find "Find Next" node and delete it?
If myXML.person.length() gives me the number of person nodes in my XML file, then how do I count the number of elements inside each person node if each one has a different name (such as address,zip, etc.)?
From one main movie, I'm calling a movie, put it into a target (everything goes fine here), then when I call the movie everithing goes fine but the elements inside the movie don't respond I'll tell you how it works. The loaded movie, has a movie clip that plays a few others clips in the main time line. When this movie get loaded into the main movie I mentioned above these few clips don't work, I see the movie getting loaded but these few clips don't work.
Isn't there a way to loop over each image in the hgroup and add the eventhandler? Something like this:

My teacher told me this isn't possible but in case of 10+ images, I can't imagine doing it for every image separately. There has to be a better way to do this, no?
I've been using this code to try and stop a main movie clip and all of the movie clips inside it. My problem is that this code only stops the main movie "elements" but none of the nested clips, can anyone spot a glaring mistake.
